After a terrible T5 buying experience I went the Transit Custom route of building my own van. Definitely far more cost effective. £6.5k for a 2014 Transit Custom, about the same again on the conversion, and judging by that one in the video it’s now worth a hell of a lot more than I paid. Video of the conversion on my channel if you’re interested. Will probably do a follow up now I’ve had it finished for a year and have added more bits like an awning etc.
Saw this van on Dolphins website this morning, then you bring out a video of it. Haven't looked at campervans online for a while either. Appart from the colour not much to write home about. Highlight of the video BABY Harvey!
Total chav wagon. Nice view of the factory colour under the rear wheel arches. If you want a transit based van, get a Wellhouse Terrier. I’ve just sold mine after 4 years of ownership for only £5k less than I paid.
I'm a Ford fan so it's always gonna be the Transit. Just bought a 2014 Transit Custom SE converted campervan for £16k and can't wait to get out and about in it.
I looked at conversions but for me have a single company responsible for the vehicle and campervan was a useful thing. Congratulations on the new passenger.
Lovely to see Harvey. I have just become a Puppy Granny - to a Golden Retriever puppy who was a very sick little boy - two uninsured operations on his gut he is full of boundless energy.
So very good to see both of you and, of course, your son. Congratulations! Good, too, to see a Ford-based van. At least in the U.S., German-sourced cars tend to be quite expensive to maintain so I would look seriously at a Ford van.
ive got a 13 plate transit custom with the pop top roof, owes me £24k after i finished converting it. mines the 125bhp model though with AC and NAV etc. brilliant vans and they are wider than a VW. in my opinion a better van and it doesn't come with brain wash VW tax :) 40k doesn't seem bad from a dealer with that spec, but id always buy a van and get it done myself so i can see the work and spec it as i like. im going to get a sprinter van next and make room under the rear bed for bikes
So nice to see an affordable van being so well reviewed, thank you. I had an auto sleeper Ford transit, it was my first ever van and it never let me down, later I had Hymas on VW chassis
at 5:42 - why does the lip of the kitchen countertop flex when its tapped? The fridge opening the wrong way just seems a bit lazy by the conversion company. Other than that, the conversion itself looks like a fairly standard affair. £40k seems a bit steep but it is fairly low mileage at 12k - Unless the van itself is a high spec trim level with lots of toys, it should be a few grand cheaper but that gap seems to have been filled by all these cosmetic upgrades
That Campervan looks very nice the color is perfect in the woods for example.....,overnigthing and muchroom harvest a omelett and a glas redwine. Only thing with the van was the table placing when not in use....?! Harvy looks well and thriving! Barbro Sweden
Very smart look for such a small van. Transits of all sides have been made and sold in the UK for ages. They should be well sorted. I’ve never owned a Ford but for a camper this nice I could grit my teeth. Really though it looks great. Nice presentation I like the three seat front. That’s killer. Unless that cabinet comes apart that fresh water bottle doesn’t look removable Hello Harvey!
Nice to see you all looking well, good work Harvey, make sure you and your bro Bentley keep going easy on them ;-) The Ford is indeed wider than the VW, it’s why I went for the VW (even though the Autocampers MRv we almost bought was v impressive and better IMHO as a full camper van) just fractionally easier as a family dayvan - dropping kids off at sports clubs, matches, swimming lessons, etc! Only a tiny bit wider but noticeable in school car parks...
Ah lovely. Great to see your son Harvey. He's soooo cute and lucky to have ye two as parents. He will definitely have an 'adventurous' life. BTW really cool van and great presentation as always. 🙂
Just playing catch up - I prefer my vans VW, Harvey is mucho better looking. :) Congratulations to your new arrival, and for becoming new parents. In the age of not being able to take my van out owing to being in Tier 3, I can only look forward to a time when we can again.
Just buy a good , used transit. Getba respray of your choice put some flooring and inner-paneling of your choice and that's it. Just a couple of comfy chairs and a decent mattress.
Is there a good reason why the fridge door opens that way? I think I would find it annoying - surely it would be easier to get into the fridge if the hinges were on the left. Apart from that it's a nice van.
I have a Transit camper , much the same as this one , fantastic camper and I like to be different so no VW for me ( drove my first Transit 55 years ago)
Congrats on the baby! Great review but 100hp manual for 40k and a tacky af dodgy looking radio fascia with 18 inch Flinstone wheels….who’s pricing these wheels ? Happy travels with Harvey.
The third thing I noticed was that she’s not an electric vehicle!! I know that Ford have made an electric Transit. Isn’t it possible for that to be converted for camping?
Read too many expensive reliability issues with VW's. They look great though. I certainly wouldn't pay £40k for a used converted transit. I wouldn't pay that for a VW either. Transits are extremely nice to drive too, of all the commercial panel vans I've driven the ford transit is still my favourite. It would have to be something nice and non pikey for me to own one though
This van while nice (i prefer the Transits) is a few years old. It would be nice to see you review a new model. Congrats on being parents (to a human this time)
Great video as always, having driven Transit Van's fir the last 25 years, it would be my choice for a conversation, although vw and campers do go together.
Can't really compare this to a cali. As it it is very much aftermarket. Better comparison would be to compare a Transit custom nugget which is factory built to a cali 6.1 for a fair comparison. Although I believe not many VW drivers would even try a Ford, as they feel superior in a VW. And that's personal choice. I have driven both vans in camper and std van spec, and you can find fault on anything if you look hard enough, but both company's are masters in van building which go way back. As an engineer by trade, when it comes to the real nuts and bolts they a both mass produced vehicle's of very equal quality. So it really just comes down to your choice of badge!!
No not for me I’ll stick to my VW California Ocean. I think the VWs are better fitted out and I know they are very expensive however all things considered much better quality van. Just a personal choice.
Makes 65k for a bran spanker Cali look good value. 40k for a 4 yearold transit conversion (with whatever milage), only 100bhp and manual...rather spend 65k..
Common knowledge that the main reason VW are they price they are is the badge and status/scene that people seem to desire. As you mentioned most definitely a personal choice so each to their own however value for money certainly doesn’t reside with a “VDUB” and many equally good quality options that would let u keep hold of the extra 20k and I speak as a former t5 owner so no bias.!!! You just might not get the cool nod when u pass a fellow owner😂🤦🏻♂️ but as long as we are all out there enjoying ourselves hey…
Ford are better than VW in the service costs as Ford's have a timing chain which is much better than a belt... Except the 2.5 vw which is gear driven cam, the best option.... I wrote this above 2 years ago, think i was talking about the 2.2 old Transit custom, but I now have a 2018 2.0 Transit custom which has the dreaded wet timing belt... 😳
40K for a transit hell no a hardly affordable either. He said used and 12k mileage at full RRP wtf what a rip off. Can but a new wellhouse conversion on a new van for this money.
The brand of the Awning is not pronounced Arber, it is pronounced A.R.B which are the initials of the Companies Founder Anthony Brown, Get it ?? A.R.B. It's not a word but 3 separate initials.ok.
After a terrible T5 buying experience I went the Transit Custom route of building my own van. Definitely far more cost effective. £6.5k for a 2014 Transit Custom, about the same again on the conversion, and judging by that one in the video it’s now worth a hell of a lot more than I paid.

Congratulations on the birth of Harvey. We have missed you both so hope we will see more of you now.
Saw this van on Dolphins website this morning, then you bring out a video of it. Haven't looked at campervans online for a while either. Appart from the colour not much to write home about. Highlight of the video BABY Harvey!
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE BIRTH OF YOUR BABY YOU GUYS
Total chav wagon. Nice view of the factory colour under the rear wheel arches.
If you want a transit based van, get a Wellhouse Terrier. I’ve just sold mine after 4 years of ownership for only £5k less than I paid.
Congratulations guys on baby Harvey’s safe arrival 🥳
I'm a Ford fan so it's always gonna be the Transit. Just bought a 2014 Transit Custom SE converted campervan for £16k and can't wait to get out and about in it.
Oh, oh Geronimo, congratulations on the arrival of little Harvey.
Nice to see Mum and baby Harvey hope your all OK in this upside-down time. Nice video i like the wrap.
The Adventure Wagon will probably be the best outfitters and I can see a lot of folks going down that route.
Good to see you back, all four of you.
They call it a pearlescent paint job!! It makes a green vehicle look like it has several colours because they’re refracted light.
I looked at conversions but for me have a single company responsible for the vehicle and campervan was a useful thing. Congratulations on the new passenger.
Congratulations on the birth of your little one! So cute! X

congrats guys, welcome to the world Harvey.
Nice looking van, congratulations on your new arrival enjoy every minute with him
Ford to me always seem to make the most desirable vans. Good to see such a stylish and practical conversion.
ive got a 13 plate transit custom with the pop top roof, owes me £24k after i finished converting it. mines the 125bhp model though with AC and NAV etc. brilliant vans and they are wider than a VW. in my opinion a better van and it doesn't come with brain wash VW tax :) 40k doesn't seem bad from a dealer with that spec, but id always buy a van and get it done myself so i can see the work and spec it as i like. im going to get a sprinter van next and make room under the rear bed for bikes
Great look around guys, great to see Harvey and you both again. Jules and Karina.
So nice to see an affordable van being so well reviewed, thank you. I had an auto sleeper Ford transit, it was my first ever van and it never let me down, later I had Hymas on VW chassis
Congratulations 👏 👏 👏 to ye both on the arrival of baby Harvey 👶👌
Nice Transit too 👍

Great to see you guys and baby Harvey back on the air again. VW but too costly these days so the Ford makes sense.
Ahh! Nice to see baby Harvey ... welcome aboard. Can’t wait to start seeing your new adventures with your big furry brother xx 😘😘
So happy to see your latest review and even happier for you both; welcome to the world baby Harvey and congratulations 🎉🥳 🥂
That Campervan looks very nice the color is perfect in the woods for example.....,overnigthing and muchroom harvest a omelett and a glas redwine. Only thing with the van was the table placing when not in use....?! Harvy looks well and thriving! Barbro Sweden
Congratulations on the birth of Harvey.
Saw the vid pop up, and the first thing I thought was that the Bump must have become a Baby by now! Congratulations 🎉
Thought you guys were taking a break! I’m glad the little one is doing well. Hope you’re all ok and keeping safe.
I would definitely be happy with a transit. Especially as its cheaper. Congratulations on little Harvey, he's terribly cute.
Sorry I'm here for baby Harvey 😂 was lovely to see you both too obviously! Fab van xx
Good to seeyou back hello Harvey .I think the ford conversion was nice buf not as crisp as the valxwagon.
Hello Harvey. Congratulations mum and dad. X
Very smart look for such a small van. Transits of all sides have been made and sold in the UK for ages. They should be well sorted.
I’ve never owned a Ford but for a camper this nice I could grit my teeth. Really though it looks great. Nice presentation
I like the three seat front. That’s killer.
Unless that cabinet comes apart that fresh water bottle doesn’t look removable
Hello Harvey!
Sadly the last Transit to be made in the UK (Southampton) was some years ago. Since the latest Custom version they are all made in Turkey.
Would love to know where to get that equipment! I'm wanting to convert a ford van. Not sure I would say 40k is affordable though.
Congratulations to your little one I’m so glad you have done another video I love them and that was a brilliant insight to a transit conversion
I love that van, I'd certainly have that instead of a VW camper for sure. Geat review, thanks!
Loved the van but in my eyes Harvey stole the show thanks for the tour liked it but love V W best 🚐
Congrats guys and stay healthy!.......we have chosen the transit ;)
Awwww Hello Harvey - congrats guys
Ah lovely. Great to see your son Harvey. He's soooo cute and lucky to have ye two as parents. He will definitely have an 'adventurous' life. BTW really cool van and great presentation as always. 🙂
I'm a diehard VW fan, but this Ford is nice!
£40k got to be kidding
I agree. Plus a VW will hold its value better than Ford. Colour of wrap is not great, especially when you see original blue.
I thought that's pretty cheap for £4k :)
It would be good to see you guys do a review of a transit custom nugget given the other Westfalia conversions you have reviewed.
I agree. Would be great to see a review of the new LWB Nugget pop top. A very different layout to the normal van conversion.
The best camper you can buy!
Really pleased for you both Harvey is beautiful , couldn't happen to a more lovely couple , best wishes to all 3 of you xxxx
That is gorgeous 😍 I prefer some of the ford's I've seen over vw's
Who fitted the pop top for you bud ?
Congratulations! Beautiful baby and cool name.💙
Just playing catch up - I prefer my vans VW, Harvey is mucho better looking. :) Congratulations to your new arrival, and for becoming new parents. In the age of not being able to take my van out owing to being in Tier 3, I can only look forward to a time when we can again.
Why is it rapped? Second hand van so whats it hideing?
Because its cheaper than paint by a long shot and if there was any imperfections it would show through
Just buy a good , used transit. Getba respray of your choice put some flooring and inner-paneling of your choice and that's it. Just a couple of comfy chairs and a decent mattress.

anyone know what bed that was? it looks great
Hi. How are you? = Since Corona, ordinary daily life is more precious than ever. Now that it's winter, I hope there's no more damage.
Congratulations on the birth of Harvey. I think I would stick with the VW T6.1 ocean.
buy vw vañ bsst
What’s the weight limit for the roof bed, asking (cough) for a friend
The third thing I noticed was that she’s not an electric vehicle!! I know that Ford have made an electric Transit. Isn’t it possible for that to be converted for camping?
Very nice but Is 100 bhp enough? It may be, I have not driven a camper van before, and would like to know.
Did you wear the Green hoodie specially to match van?
Read too many expensive reliability issues with VW's. They look great though. I certainly wouldn't pay £40k for a used converted transit. I wouldn't pay that for a VW either. No stick to the Cali !!
Also, it only seems bigger because the double seat is narrower
Congrats 🤗
I'll stick with my VW Jerba campers conversion. Long wheel based T6 gives more room. 40k for a four year old van is taking the mickey
vw tdi camper vañ bdst
Well! Congratulations! Redhead?
congratulation with baby harvey
CONGRATULATIONS MUM AND DAD HI TO HARVEY
Wow congratulations.
Cheap conversion kit still has knock on edges no one does that any more and certainly not for 40k
Can't really compare this to a cali. As it it is very much aftermarket.

*NO 'Hot Water?'* *WTF?* (a 'sub-woofer' is nice...but the 'Camp' aspect for the price asked should have hot water available any time you need it)
Nice van and great presentation. Liked how Shaun's sweater is matching this beautiful van :-)
What’s the song called at the begging
No not for me I’ll stick to my VW California Ocean. I think the VWs are better fitted out and I know they are very expensive however all things considered much better quality van. Just a personal choice.

Is there vat on camper vans
Love the color
£40k for a 66 plate transit conversion?
My £2000 caravan has bench seats shower and best of all a toilet £40000 you must be joking
YT should stop showing vehicles that can’t be purchased in the USA!
4k is more reasonable.
Did you say the baby was called RV !
Ford are better than VW in the service costs as Ford's have a timing chain which is much better than a belt... Except the 2.5 vw which is gear driven cam, the best option....

wrjbg vw best
40K for a transit hell no a hardly affordable either. He said used and 12k mileage at full RRP wtf what a rip off. Can but a new wellhouse conversion on a new van for this money.
what the hell makes that worth 40k
Great van but wouldn’t pay £40k for it and those door shuts would irritate me every time I undo a door 👎
Agree this is an absolute joke of a conversion 40k 😳🙈🤣
I've never understood why small compact van conversions cost so much.....
Still don't.....
Nor me
Good to see its STILL got the standard terrible VW door locks. Not a ford fan at all
aFORDable at 40k your having a laugh
Wensleydale cheese.
Nice van - but I would rather have a VW Cali
Transits and sprinters can be stolen without keys...loads getting stolen.
The brand of the Awning is not pronounced Arber, it is pronounced A.R.B which are the initials of the Companies Founder Anthony Brown, Get it ?? A.R.B. It's not a word but 3 separate initials.ok.
It’s a Fiamma awning which is why I said Fiamma.
@@ABusAndBeyond Cool, you need a better mike, because it was hard to understand,, Still love the Van though and the video, so well done.
Good camper but couldn’t part with that amount of money unless it’s a VW 👍🏻
