    Another great video, really appreciating the education in this series to understand the holistic aspects of pain.
    I just wanted your thoughts on something - my father in law just got into a car accident, and now while we're all thankful he's alright, he did suffer a shoulder dislocation and an ankle sprain.
    I know from watching your videos that surgery is likely not the answer for his dislocation, but I was wondering if there was a good video on the subject I could share with him, as well as good resources/suggestions for him to rehab his shoulder to the point of full recovery.

    Yes I was diagnosed with two disc herniations and two bulging discs then just 2 weeks after something triggered it so what was supposed to be a temporary injury became chronic I know it takes time for the discs to heal but I really believe this may be the brain and nervous system issue and not so much of a disc issue

      The remedy is to tell the brain that you are safe not live in fear of the pain or symptoms fear and attention about the symptoms and the pain sends signals to the brain you're in danger signs of safety in the body tells the brain you're okay and it releases pain signals

      Tons! I'm going to address this in part 8, the final video in this series! As for the comment about my programs (Which based on the incorrect pricing assumption, I know this person hasn't actually spoken to me about our programs), the reason our main program is so successful is because it's not just a bunch of videos. It's customized, 1-on-1 support. Each person is unique. So even if I made a video saying "do these 5 exercises, this meditation technique, and eat this type of food," that video would only apply to certain people. It would help some people, do nothing for some others, and make a few people worse. That's because there's no magic exercise or remedy. The treatment needs to fit the individual. Make sense? That's why on this channel I focus so hard on teaching you concepts, that way you can take the knowledge and guidelines and apply it to YOUR unique situation. Everyone is different, so I can't tell you exactly what to do, but I can teach you how to THINK, how to problem solve. I have 100's of videos teaching you the most important concepts.

    Very helpful explanaiton! Does the hypersensitivity also has an impact on numbness and muscle weakness along the nerves (into the legs)? Or are these Symptoms always caused by severe (real) nerve damage?

    • @ShapeshiftWellness
      @ShapeshiftWellness  2 місяці тому

      Typically numbness and weakness are associated with nerve compression, not neuroplastic changes, but I'd need a lot more information to give a useful response.

    Could pain caused by muscle tension be nociplastic?
    Background: A few years ago i did squats with bad form and my pelvis twisted. I ended up having sciatica pain for a couple of weeks. It transitioned into more of a muscle pain and finally exploded into muscle tension from my back, hips, down my leg, into my foot! After steroids it worsened so badly. With time, my pelvis is much more neutral now but i still have painful muscle tension that makes exercising painful. 😭

    • @ShapeshiftWellness
      @ShapeshiftWellness  Місяць тому +1

      Yes this is super common, the longer the pain persists, the more likely it is to have nociplastic changes. Fortunately this is fixable 🙌

    Yes, I think my body has some HyperSensitivity in the Low Back Aera as it has MicroHernia sinces 2 Decades after a Excessive Weight Pulling Experience at Work, and apparently a Muscular HyperContraction Tendency on the Back Part of the Disks.
    Stretching, especially in QiGong Mouvments Helps but I can't stand my Body Straight Too Long without at least a Foot on something High Enough, or even letting my Body on its Back on a Bed, if not the Knees Plied Towards the Chest.
    The Funnny things is I know how to Releave the Muscular Contraction For Good on an Other Body, but I don't have hands at the back of my Body to do it on it 😅, nor Someone Around I could Teach how to do so 😔

      Most of the time it's really helpful to work up to true strength exercises. In rehab, a lot of times people baby themselves and never really get strong. Just my 2 cents!

      First, I have hundreds of videos talking about solutions. Second, education IS part of the solution. Third, the last (8th) video in this series will be about “closing the gates on chronic pain.”

    • @baivulcho
      @baivulcho 2 місяці тому +1

      @ShapeshiftWellness First, this video is amazing. It definitely rings a bell. Since I have chronic back problems and pain, there have been many times I have thought it's statistically and objectively unlikely to feel so much pain in my back area and also in different parts of my body at the same time, while not presenting nearly enough injury to justify the feeling and amount of inflammation there is. I'm not talking about just my back area, but my entire body, and even when my back starts to get better. For example while my back starts to hurt unbearably, and then it gets better, in a few days I would get pain in my ankle and knee joints and some of them would get inflamed and swollen. Or I will feel severe stomach pain. As crazy as it sounds it's like the pain moves around in my body. I'm not sure if it's the same mechanism that you're describing, but this is what I experience.
      Second. I also can't wait to get to the solution part of this series.
