It makes you sick to see them demolish perfectly good homes that people are on the streets living in tents that really could use a place like that it's amazing waste not want not it's a waste of time
This may be a stupid question, but why couldn't someone start squatting these houses, and eventually end up owning them? I don't know how true the stories are about people leaving their homes for extended times only to come back and find a squatter living in their house and having to go through massive court proceedings just to get their own house back. Supposedly they are not allowed to just throw the invaders out
As a kid in the 80's I watched "Dallas" and fantasized about living in a house like this. As an adult, now, all I can think about is the amount of money it would take to maintain a house like this. Sucks to get old.
It really wouldn’t cost that much money to maintain. In America we have mcmansions plopped nationwide which are about the size of this home (excluding the basement as not all have basements or finished basements). But we have plenty of 4 & 5 bed mcmansions that size or bigger maintained by upper middle class families making like 100 -150k a year (depending on how big the house is and how fancy the area is etc)
This one being torn down literally hurts my heart. It is such a beautiful, well loved and maintained home. Why people keep tearing down and wasting resources makes me almost physically ill. Thanks for the great find Ethan.
Hi Ethan, just catching your video, been busy with yardwork. I am totally blown away with this beautiful house . It's so immaculate, clean, beautiful stairs and woodwork everywhere. Shame on those people for letting this house go to the demolition phase. You do such great work. Thank you.
This house is in mint condition I can't believe it's being demolished. Its the city officials who make decision of weather or not a house ger s torn down. Its shameful to see such beauty go to waste! Thanks for showing Ethan, love your channel!!!
@@deborahpisano59 Yes the closing of the sale of the home has to be completed but once it's completed the developer may wait several years before they actually demolish a home and start building something new like condos .

I'm with you, that staircase is to die for. I like the whole house, too bad it is being demolished it wouldn't take much too much to clean it up and move in. Great home!
Beautiful home you always find great houses that should be cleaned up a little and kept in use this is a statement of just how our society is just so disposable
I so agree with your comment 👏. It breaks my heart to see the vandalism also. Homes like this one are solid, a family can all have their own space and not drown out the room next door. I would think it would be cheaper to heat and cool solid built homes like this one. I would take this home over a brand new mcmansion any day!
I LOVE THAT HOUSE! My heart is dangling with sadness. How terrible it is to waste so much money and literally just abandon such beautiful homes. Now being demolished when there are so many homeless families out there. You are absolutely awesome! Thanks again for all your videos.

My mother passed away last year at 102. I had sold home a few years earlier for her care in a very large and sweet home for just five residents. One of the selling points on her home was the glass knobs on all the inside doors. It was a bungalow style home and it was bought the first day it went up for sale. Because the whole area is being built up and the yard of the home was almost a half acre it may one day be torn down and apartments built in its place. I did not grow up in that home, but lived there for eight years with Mom as her companion/care person. The home you are touring today is so lovely, loads of nice wood and so clean. And soon it will be gone. Sad. It is a treat to be able to watch your videos. You are so respectful and that helps to make watching a house that was once a home.

Homes are like bodies to me; like people. I grew up in a historic home that was built in 1832 and it was part of the Underground Railroad. And that house, made of sandstone, walls full of squirrels rolling nuts, uneven wooden floors: that house was and still is as important to me as a person is. It has personality and quirks and sounds and feels. My house was part of a college campus, and is now housing for students. It cannot ever be torn down because of its historic landmark designation (Hubert Howe Bancroft was born there, and it was the site of the first abolitionist meeting in the state of Ohio), but the students who live there trashed the place. It’s almost as sad; not recognizing my childhood home anymore. I’m sorry for dropping all this nostalgia on you! But I just want to thank you for showing us all of these homes - homes that once held god knows what inside of them. I always wonder what stories happened in each place - what heartbreaks and happinesses occurred - what happened to cause these voids? The houses themselves are left to gawk at their nakedness and silence; mute witnesses to Everything. It’s nice to see them before they don’t exist anymore, and what I’m getting at is that I appreciate the way you treat these houses; the way that you speak to them and commiserate with them. Thank you.

What is up you guys? 😊 I love this house and it amazes me all the homes they are demolishing. I love the flooring and the beautiful staircase. I guess maybe I'm stuck in the 80's-90's styles because they don't seem over the top, just functional, big & charming. There were too many beautiful features to mention, I hate to know it will be smashed to pieces soon. Great find and such a beautiful home. Love the original work as well as the updates on the place. Very nice. Take care, stay safe & God bless! xoxo 💖 Kat

Picturing entertaining family and friends in this house. Just dreamin' here lol. It's a shame it has to go. Thanks for sharing Ethan!! :)
Beautiful home. Shame there tearing it down. Thanks for the tour. You do a great job.
This place is awesome. My favorite at this time😀. The layout is great
I love the kitchen. The room with the shutters on the doors was especially gorgeous. I was told those shutters were called Plantation shutters.
Beautiful house, a shame no one will ever live in there again. That staircase was amazing!
The walk-in-closet in the Master Bedroom is massive! I love it! (I'd love to have a walk-in-closet that size!)
Lovely home Ethan, just love the staircase and super large rooms with nice windows. Great explore. Thank you. Stay safe.
Amazing find Ethan..that staircase was outstanding brother

Gorgeous old house. I love the staircase and bar. Beautiful.
Good afternoon Ethan your the best film maker out there your my favorite UA-cam guys to watch thank you for making these videos I really appreciate it much love from West Virginia
This one was awesome. Move in ready. Such a serious shame being torn down. Outstanding staircase just beautiful. Loved the bathroom with the frosted window and matching shower curtain and tub so perfect. Also liked the huge mirror in the upstairs bedroom wow. And that closet please you mean a small childs bedroom was crazy. Cool bar area and so many nice shelf areas in this house. Thanks for sharing this one and I loved your colorful jacket. Stay safe and thank you for the proper send off. Seeing you adorable smile makes my day. Love you. Brilliant job. Peace❣🖤💜💙💚💛🧡❤🙋♀️🥰😊🤗
Such a lovely home to be destroyed! Wonder why couldn't the owner just renovate around these rooms! House like this shouldn't be demolished just do some update with what you have here! I'd would love to have a home like this! Love your videos Ethan & thanks for showing us your tours! 💜💜
Subscribed recently and catching up with all your older videos! Love them!
Very nice. Take care, stay safe & God bless! xoxo 💖 Kat
What an awesome find! I love the bar and the room its in. If I bought that house I would keep it as is. I would hower put small refrigerator behind it. I was disappointed in the bathrooms however. The tubs all need to be replaced. I love the explores with big, beautiful bathrooms.
Thanks Ethan for sharing . Love your videos . This house is awesome. Its a shame to demolish it. Thanks again Ethan your the best.
What a beautiful house! It's sad they are just tearing down all these houses. We arent going to have any older homes left in Canada at this point. Just this newer cookie cutter crap.
Beautiful large house. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for trying again to get into this house, its gorgeous, loved that staircase too, who wouldn't love this place, so glad you got to document it, thanks for sharing Ethan your amazing.
This is one of my favourite houses you have done. Some of them are so gigantic that you couldn't possibly imagine living in them but this one I really could. Love it! ❤ Such a shame for it to be torn down....what a waste 💔
That is such a beautiful home. I hope they will save some of the appliances to use for someone else who may not be able to spend a lot of money on them. Too nice of a mansion to be torn down. Love that parquet flooring and the beautiful staircase. I hate seeing those homes empty without nobody living in them, so sad. Thanks for the great find Ethan! Keep up the great videos, you're doing awesome! ❤️👍
Maybe they left a.c . on to help. So mold would not grow or at least show it down. I liked the peace ☮️ sign in the mirror. I like that you are taking us alone with you,on these tours. So we can feel like we can go anywhere, even with covid-19.
This house is beautiful every where. Rooms like the kitchen, living room, all the rooms with all that extra room. I love the stairs. Tare it down and put up a cheaper one. Great find. Stay safe. And what's up with you. USA

Sink cool, brick fire place , beautiful stair case, white fireplace , kitchen love, cedar closet , I just like the whole house
A very beautiful home indeed and it's very sad that it's being taken down and something new being put in it's place too.
