Hey man... thanks for the info on the Hedman Headers. the 88403 are the black ceramic coated version of the 88400. They fit perfect in my 1998 Ranger. I'm using a 5.0 from a 1998 Explorer. That was my last obstacle. I'm gonna build a mild stroker and have some fun. I'm doing an offroad prerunner style though. Anyway. Thanks again.

In Texas it has to be 2 years old to 24 tops to be inspectable anymore than that it’s free game and in certain counties only. I’m happy I live in a smog free so I can do whatever I want and the safety inspection is pretty simple and they don’t sweat it as much.

Have a very similar build going on myself. Mines a 97 but I swapped all of the sheet metal forward of the firewall to an 04 and using an 01-03 grill. Mine has a 96 Explorer 5.0 with a stock Fox cam, ported GT40's , and ported lower intake. I'm using a 96 f150 PCM to run everything (only year Ford had OBD2 with a distributor in a 302). Tune it with SCT PRP. Mine is a flareside as well and will be white also. I have polished 17x5 and 15x10 Weld RTS' on it.

Another question I have concerning the 4.0 motor mounts - I bought the set of 1/2 inch steel plates that bolt to the 302 block and then, if you look down at the stock 3.0 frame mounts still in my truck, you can see the big height difference in the top of the the mounts from left to right - do the 4.0 frame mounts, when installed, come up to be level with each other so my adapter plates , when bolted up to the mounts, allows my 302 to sit level? Right now, 9if I were to drop the 302 onto the 3.0 mounts, the V8 would sit crooked - sorry if I sometimes over-explain things LOL! Thanks
