Antiquing with my dad

This week, I went on a pre-New Years antiquing trip with my dad. My parents were visiting from Georgia and my dad wanted to check out some local spots for antiques. We found a few interesting things, one of which, I have been wanting for years. I finally, found an antique hall tree. I love the look of a vintage hall tree and the one we found is especially unique. I would love to hear your thoughts.

It does look like original hardware...similar to what is on my hall tree. Of course I love mine because it holds canes, hats, jackets, backpacks. My bench held all my childrens' hats, gloves, and scarfs. I have had mine for 36 years and spent $75 on it, which felt like a huge amount back then. You will not regret it!!!!!

I think you got a very functional piece for an entry and the hardware does look original to me. I'm not sure I would remove the finish - it's all part of the history of the piece and helps the value of the piece, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, I think you got a very nice piece at a very reasonable price and you should enjoy it.

Thanks for the info. It seemed like it went together way too well to be newer hardware. Yay, in the hall tree club!
