I always get lots of ideas from staying in a rental. I hope this place gives you some of your own ideas. My favorite thing about our stay was the small indoor pool. My girls wanted to log as much pool time as possible and we had a great time.

Fireplace mini makeover and decorate with me
Переглядів 8811 місяців тому
This week I give my downstairs fireplace some love, and a much needed mini-makeover. Our stone fireplace gets some new shelf supports, some updated accessories to store all that firewood and a refresh with some low-key spring decor. This week, I also took on the beast of learning a new editing software, and feel like I have been through a very challenging rabbit hole. I learned a lot though, bu...
CLOSET CLEAN-UP AND ORGANIZATION
Переглядів 26711 місяців тому
This week I take on one of the scariest places in my home.... the closet in our bedroom !! It is an unorganized and chaotic mess. We moved in and really just placed things everywhere and gave very little thought to how things should be organized. So now, after a year, I am taking on this neglected space. I loved the way that it turned out!. I also show you a few tricks on how to fold your cloth...

This week, I show you a clothing thrift haul, and two recent shopping hauls from Marshall's and T.J. Maxx. We talk budget shopping and organization, what you should avoid in a thrift store. Oh yeah and I sing for maybe 10 seconds. If you hate it... be kind. I took a vote from two little girls and one said keep it and one said cut it. I decided to keep it and be brave, since that it what I want ...

Thrifting independent thrift stores
Переглядів 52Рік тому
In today's video I check out two different thrift stores where I have had good luck in the past. One is what I would call a bona fide junk store (in a good way). It's randomness is always pleasant to rifle through. Previously, my husband has found some good older tools here and I have seen some furniture with potential. So I was excited to see what they had. The other stores is one where I have...

    I think you got a very functional piece for an entry and the hardware does look original to me. I'm not sure I would remove the finish - it's all part of the history of the piece and helps the value of the piece, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, I think you got a very nice piece at a very reasonable price and you should enjoy it.

    It does look like original hardware...similar to what is on my hall tree. Of course I love mine because it holds canes, hats, jackets, backpacks. My bench held all my childrens' hats, gloves, and scarfs. I have had mine for 36 years and spent $75 on it, which felt like a huge amount back then. You will not regret it!!!!!

    Dissolves soap in untreated water then adds water softeners, which are sitting right there. Smart? She has hard water. Sediment after cooling contains precipitates of a) soap scum, and b) magnesium and calcium carbonates and borates. She mentions 1 cup per load (I think). So, 10 gal. washes 160 loads. She uses 6 oz of soap. 6/160 = 0.0375 oz/load. That’s about the weight of a $ bill or 75% of the weight of a paper clip. Of course, not all of that soap will be available for cleaning because some formed scum when she dissolved it in untreated water. Use this watered down soapy water if it makes you feel good, but expect results comparable to washing with plain water. Waste of time and $.

      Hi Frank, thanks for watching. This is my first video of this kind, so I appreciate the feedback. We are actually on well water, so our water doesn't contain chloride or fluoride. I made a 5-gallon batch and have been using about half a cup per load. So far so good, but I can understand if it's not for you. I'm not sure yet, if I'll make it again.

    • @FrankGutowski-ls8jt
      @FrankGutowski-ls8jt Рік тому

      @@creativeframeofmind2371 Chlorine and fluoride have no effect on water hardness or soap’s cleaning performance. Well water is likely to be hard, however, due to high concentrations of dissolved minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, aluminum and copper.
