Probably even looks better and smoother on the body because of no elastic to scrunch up and be bulky. Thanks I am going to try making one for my wife.
I like this because there’s no pattern to buy and cut out. Simple measurements. I also like the lace. It really finishes the skirt. I wouldn’t have thought of using it on the hem. This is cut on the bias, so should hang for a day to let it stretch before hemming. Otherwise, the hem will become uneven over time.
So of course these are numbers used that will fit with your size of dress/skirt etc. however, I’m bigger size, so how would I make sure I have enough fabric to start with?

You wll divide your waist 116 into 3. Your fabric measurement should be at least 250cm x 150cm
