I think everyone knows you can kill Packie because a lot of people just ran them down out of instinct, but seems like not as many know you're better off rescuing him because they pay you 1k and you can use him in heists as a good gunman who charges less percentage.

Fun fact: Ashley dies no matter what. In the GTA V in game internet, it's revealed that she died. Simeon also keeps posting even if you DO kill him, which means he wasn't actually killed.

Simeon and ULP are both alive to this day as seen in Online, so these deaths are either flat out non-canon, or they are played out as an injury they recover from in a hospital (same as when you meet and kill a character as another or their friends and family or other key allies.)

Yes it does but It doesn't freeze in time. It starts 6 months before and continues to the present date.

I knew you could kill Packie, Ashley and the mystery man of the ULP. In fact when that fire fight brakes out with him right in front of everyone it's even harder to not kill him, and even if you don't one of the goons usually gets him anyways. The rest of those people were news to me though, especially Aunt Denise. Apparently Franklin is more of a stone cold gangster than he realizes.

Considering the Nightclub DLC for GTA Online, it's confirmed that Lazlow is still alive - since all DLCs after the Doomsday Heist take place after the main story of GTA V.

@Desert spectre nope. After the Diamond Casino heist had came out we've been playing after the events of Story Mode. And if you ask why Trevor is alive or some shit, it's because Option C is canon for Story Mode. Plus, look at Franklin. He is obviously older, and owns a business.

You can kill the royal girl as well, from the Beverly missions. Once you take the photo and end the mission you have a short window to cut her off on the road and take her and her security guards out the equation
To be fair there's really no consequence to either personally killing Friendlander or letting him go, dude's going to wind up dead either way.
Fact : all characters can appear in story mode when roaming without being in mission and can be killed .

Fun fact: when I encountered Patrick in my playthrough I didn't fully realise what I could or should do at the time; and being a notorious good boy I thought "damn, some crooks robbing a poor guy, gotta get them" similar to those "someone stole my purse, help" encounters. So, what did I do? I ran them over. Only to notice a split second before I mowed themdown that there *might* have been more to the encounter ^^ - I think I also ran over Ashley. Been a while since I played story mode :-) Damn good game though. Thanks for the video.

If you take Patrick with you on the heist (The one where you wear the suits and have Gatling guns.) I believe he can be killed. Hard to say because its like the last one and he disappears after. I like using Packie because hes a good gun and he tells his story of the Liberty City bank heist he did with Niko in I believe the second heist.
Ashley dies either way. If you decided to kill her she dies. If not then you hear on the radio she died of an OD during a crazed drug sex orgy.
If you don’t use Packie at the jewelry store his stats won’t upgrade and he’ll die during the first bank heist if you pick him. If you do upgrade his stats he’ll hold off the cops for you and Michael has the line “That crazy Irish mans giving us a chance”.

Frankly, Lazlo and Simeon getting killed should have been canon, they are like the worst characters in GTA online that I can think of. Friedlander certainly gets what he deserves to, but I don't think anybody is more deserving of the death that you can deliver then Denise Clinton.
