this seems like a strong cleaning tool but too expensive/complex even for a nerd like me, ha. going to give their s3 a shot.

Hi, just get this pool cleaner, will try today or tomorrow. Can you please help me with one question I have? The docking/ charging station, is it full water proof?

I would assume that it's water resistant and not full-on waterproof. Like it won't get damaged from rain or pool water but it's also not meant to be submerged completely under the water, especially the plug into the outlet.
Also, before drilling the docking station into your pool edge I recommend trying it out first for a few days. Place a cinderblock or something heavy ontop the station and test it out to make sure you really like it. Drilling into your concrete is a big step so make sure you really like it before doing a permanent install.

Will this work for a pool that’s 10ft deep? The extension cord for the charging ball doesn’t look very long?

I didn't even mention that in the video I'm sorry! It's for pools up to 8.2 feet deep. The cord in the video is about 4 feet long but there's an extension adapter that's another 4 feet it comes with. So unfortunately not for 10 feet deep pools

Hey, I am in the process of discerning which pool cleaner I should purchase. I currently have a Polaris 280 on its last leg, and I noticed you have one in your pool as you are reviewing the robotic cleaners. Do you recommend keeping the Polaris 280 in addition to the Robotic..... Thanks

I still use the Polaris on certain occasions yes!
It's more convenient when I go out of town for more than a week. I don't leave a corded cleaner in the pool most times because I get raccoons that chew up cables. And a cordless cleaner doesn't last longer than a week, for now at least.
So depending on the time of year, if I'm away from home, etc I swap all sorts of cleaners out. Although most people are not in the same situation as me with dozens of cleaner choices.

      Sooo…this, or the Seauto Shark?

I wanted to love the P1 Max but as I used it more and more I began to think of it as a corded cleaner instead of a cordless.
It's a cool concept but because you still have a cord to the charger it feels like a very expensive corded cleaner. I mean, it's absolutely still a great cleaner but maybe not so much for the price at the moment. Maybe if it drops down under the 1k point.
The Shark is a better price point to feature ratio. But, I wish it had a weekly timer.

So you buy all these robots and talk about how great they are - but in the background you have a tradition dumb Polaris booster pump cleaner ….. why?

I use different cleaners all the time during different times of the season. The Polaris is a side cleaner I leave in the pool during the off season. I run a variable speed pump and it's the least expensive cleaner to physical work ratio to run during the off season for me. There are times I'm also not home for weeks and the Polaris is the easiest option. Definitely not a dumb cleaner. It's always based off your pool needs
