      He’s a bloody apprentice min. Reason he’s there is because he’s to tight to pay proper wage to a trowel. What he does there’s plenty bricks out there that lay more and work just is hard but you need to pay them well if not splitting the money. Charlie’s a good lad but he ain’t daft when it comes to making money. Hence doing the UA-cam also. 😆.

    Hey Charlie,it’s Geo from New Jersey In the US,you have the patience of a saint setting up those profiles,I always liked to build corners because a lot of jobs pay by the brick and this way your putting bricks in instead of setting up profiles(I would end up throwing them) you mentioned you like building corners because it’s not just throwing bricks in a wall. Over here cornermen get a lot more to set them up. I was a cornerman and I liked it because your not running down a wall,most of time your by yourself(just crank the tunes and stack them) not everybody can do it,I can see you have the eye, a lot of guys don’t see it, besides getting paid more,I made a lot of overtime going in early to set up corners and some times staying late to set corners for the morning so they were set so the line masons could hook on and go. You deserve more money because you got the eye for corners and you can put a lot of bricks in! Caught your live show you and Amy were making me piss my pants laughing! Next time put Dad on camera he is a pisser! Don’t listen to anyone Amy isn’t to young for you,she is a lovely girl, tell her congrats on test now she can work on site with you. How did Georgie do with the test?

    • @shifty277
      @shifty277 Рік тому

      Ditto to the reply below - these are nice straight cut bricks and all the same size - a semi-engineering.
      Get some bricks that come up 205/210 and then some 220s in for good measure and it makes a bricklayers life a lot harder when you want to throw them in by the millions on the line.
      Fortunately probably a lot of houses in Colchester aren't going for too fancy a brick colour or texture where the castings create banana bricks and big tolerances in the length.
      We have solid bricks on my site where they measure 65mm on the face but if you got some calipers to measure the centre where they are bulging in the middle they are about 68mm - grinding on nearly every brick and with tight beds lol and thats with lovely creamy muck - and they weigh a ton too.

    Firstly I'd like to say absolutely no offence meant by my next comments. It's just observation.
    The Firfix, wall starter is completely wrong. They should be in the middle of each skin so really needed 2. Unless I'm mistaken there are no wall ties holding each skin together. I'm surprised that you wasn't asked to do a header course every so and so (English garden wall bond).
    There's no doubting your speed mate but the little things that matter seem to get overlooked. I've heard you state that what Rob Songer does bores you and it's too slow. Fair comment but he is an absolute master and his attention to detail is second to none. Forgive me as just seen you mention putting ties in. Have fun and don't take it personally.
