    This teaching just reminds me of my days thinking and feeling exactly the same as Amy. Charlie, I think we think this work / house bashing is easy but we take it for granted when we see apprentices struggling. All I can say is thank god that's in the past but it will get easier Amy.
    And remember: Everyday, as long as you're a smidgen better than the day before then you will get there. It's that simple and remember when it seems hardest, that's usually when you're close to turning a corner with it. Keep.going. best teacher in Charlie's school of brickwork too

    Mate best not go 50/50 I went 50/50 with a lad years ago, I ended up doin 75% of the wall to do a split I eventually spoke my mind and he said it wasn't worth his time for any less, never looked back since I carried him for about 4 year soon as I left he got sacked, I carried him all way through my apprenticeship and even more now Im strictly what you lay you get paid, at the end of each day/week we each measure up, only fair in my eyes good shout Charlie I know u have what it takes! It's not just about turning up ur like me I'd do an hour travel to work and still be on the scaffold at 7AM,

We worked together and he would never produce as much as me, we both got left alone as a squad basically, which looked ok for 2 young lads work, little did they know most the work was off me it's not really hard to understand mate, I don't blame Charlie for doin the same look how many ppl mess him about some ppl just don't have it in them!! I've had it all myself ppl wantin it for just showing there time don't work like that on pricework

    I worked elbow to elbow with a guy that lays brick like you do, we all called him pigpen because he wasted so much mud and made a huge fucking mess. you could tell exactly where he was on the wall.
    The Mason that taught me the trade always said "short spread,quick cover" but the pick and dip just makes me cringe
    you can spread the wall first and not have to go back to your board every brick.
    all that being said, you are a good mason and I like your channel.
    you are way cleaner that pigpen and actually take pride in your work
    Keep it up

    • @wumpty93
      @wumpty93 3 роки тому

      Spreading for the whole wall first your visiting the bricks / spots twice the amount of times. The reason it looks faster is because you carrying a shovel for a trowel and over time that causes many problems for your wrist or elbows.
