Charlotte's just trying to grow into her big girl shoes. She went from a slow Southern town to a big Southern city so fast. She has a lot of catching up to do but come on down. Give her a chance. You're gonna like it here. Things we hold dear are Family, our children and the schools and parks, and we want all our neighborhoods to be made safe so our kids can still play outside. Charlotte residents can kinda be like siblings. We can pick with each other but we don't like others coming in and picking on our own. We don't like our residents being treated unfairly. Cause we will protest together. All of us. We genuinely care for each other. As we grow that may change but I sure hope not.
Finally someone who agrees with me! Most people think the traffic and crime are horrible in Charlotte, but statistically speaking for being a large city, it has a very low crime rate. Also the traffic is not that bad. At rush hour it’s a little slower but it’s not usually a parking lot
You hit the point. And I was born here. 45 yrs now. I'm so ready to live somewhere else. Being single yet family is here in the Queen City makes it hard to live them after my father passed.
Wow...so i'm sure you've seen Charlotte go through a lot of changes over the years. I completely understand that because family is the reason I moved back to Florida.
At first I felt the same about the food and traffic here in Charlotte. I'm from Houston. I know my food spots in Houston. After searching, I have a good list of delicious, irresistible food places in Charlotte! Just keep searching and I'll be more than happy to share my list with you. 😁
@@GenisiaConstant I hope that you are enjoying where you are now 🤗. A few of the places that I recommend are Miro’s (my favorite), Bulla, Leah & Louise, Sabor Latin Grill and Eddie Vs.

Thank you for posting. As someone living in NYC from Tampa, Miami and other large cities a lot of what you are saying rings true. I think you are going to make me move to Charlotte, I'll buy you a cupcake or a biscuit when I get there.
I think you mentioned that everything is a matter of perspective. I am from New York and I have lived in the bay area and now Northern Virginia. Additionally I lived in The QC in the aught years of 2001 to 2005. I am not a "foodie" so my doors not being blown off from my dinning out experience was not a big deal to me. I agree that Charlotte traffic was a joke especially when compared to New York, the San Francisco Bay Area and now the DC area. As for weather, I think it is codified in city law that winter is officially over on January 31st and Mother Nature abided. Charlotte winters were extremely mild when compared to New York and now Virginia. I really did like Charlotte and only left due to work. I hope once The QC opens up, you get to experience and enjoy the full depth and breathe that the city has to offer.

Just watched your video and found it interesting and helpful! I am trying to decide to rent or buy when I move there soon. I was looking at housing and see that it is more expensive than Atlanta now. I lived in Atl for 15 years and now live in the DC metro. I like the DC metro but am moving to Charlotte to be closer to family in SC. How is the dating scene? Thanks for showing!
Awesome! I’m so glad it could help! I love the DC area…I’ve visited many times and it’s nothing like it! But I definitely understand wanting to be closer to family. The prices of houses are a little better in some of the bordering areas of Charlotte. Like Concord and Huntersville. The dating scene is the only thing I can’t give any pros or cons about in Charlotte because I wasn’t in it 😂! But, from what I heard, it isn’t bad!
Also, being originally from Washington, DC in which I just moved out side of Raleigh from living in Los Angeles. Are the local women educated and jealous because I know the ones in the county I live in are in uneducated lots of children and very very jealous.
Very interesting! Charlotte has a lot of educated women. I feel like it's like a mini Atlanta, in the sense that there are a lot of business owners and women doing very well for themselves. I never picked up on any jealousy. If anything, it's the opposite, but it all depends on the type of people you hang around.
People in Charlotte still like to cook at home. There use to be a few tasty places to grab a bite in the French Quarter downtown. Or Ruth's Chris. We like our BBQ.
That's interesting! Most of the people I know that didn't grow up there, didn't like the food in comparison to other cities they've lived in. I guess everyone has different food preferences!
Hey, you can include me in that praise. It’s absolutely a preference thing. I’ve been here since 2007. I have traveled in and out of country. No, it’s not NY! Doesn’t offer the authenticity/culture! Nor is it Europe! But in comparison to “similar/average” cities in the US, it has much to offer. I like the endless number of a variety of restaurants/food in and around Charlotte. I can get satisfied. I like having a plethora of options! I just absolutely hate the closing hours!!! 😡

It's decent! It's called "LYNX" and It goes to some of the main areas in Charlotte like (Noda, Downtown/Uptown, near the University, etc). You may still need a Uber with it if you need to venture to other area's where the metro doesn't go. It's affordable and a few of the stops have parking garages for your car. People use it a lot on game days when they want to go to the football or basketball games.
Moving there from Las Vegas. I agree with you on traffic. LA is the worst! Make you want to pull your hair out! Good thing I can cook because I’m a foodie so that’s a little disappointing to hear that the foods not great.🤣
As a Charlotte native, I will say that Charlotte has new restaurants opening pretty much every week! I’m talking you hear of a new one popping up at least twice a month😂. The key is to try to avoid some of the “IG restaurants “ that are pretty much there for show with subpar food lol ( a lot of the places downtown are like this). Good luck on your move!
Lol. I noticed this before the pandemic. It's just not that type of late night atmosphere. But I'm sure something may be open, it just may be farther to drive to.
