This was a fun tournament format- I like how it attempts to emphasize quality over quantity. Maybe the Clem games were a bit one sided but i am a huge Clem fan so no complaints! Thanks!!
Whenever a good player loses against Clem it's supposedly because of fatigue or the bad day. I rather think that Clem completely foils his opponents by the supreme quality of his Terran's game. Micro Médivacs, Médivacs marauders, targeting Colossus with only a part of his army, mine positions. Everything is there. Not to mention the anti-scout strategy... Finally a terran that goes into high gear. Thanks Wardi for this tournament it was very cool, games players and comments ! Great job man.
So true, not to mention he didn't just beat one great Korean, he beat Rogue... then Stats... then Zest. What's the chance that they're ALL having a bad day. That kid is a serious contender.

Clem played very well but feels like Zest was drunk or tired while playing this, made uncharacteristic mistakes in every game, I don't think it's because of the ping
@@tigera6 this "terrible" Zest plays would probably crush you 100 times out of 100. Show some respect. Besides that you guys don't understand that if players of this caliber make mistakes that may seem gross it's solely because of the pressure their equally good opponent is applying. It's not Zest derping because it wasn't his day or whatever.
@@tigera6 you can't point out mistakes without being disrespectful and also about the pressure causing mistake yes it's because he's playing against Clem. If he plays against a M2 player ofc he'll play flawlessly. But to play against someone like Clem takes so much that cracks starts to appear. I'm not talking about stress or anticipation, I'm just talking about what Clem asks him in terms of ressources.
Clem has shown micro/talent/creativity that is different and above other current terrans. This wasn't a bad series, Wardi, and it feels like it takes away from the excitement of watching this young phenom in Clem blossom when there are tones of negativity in the stream because a match did not meet the expectations of the caster. I also really enjoyed the Stats series previously and thought that instead of negativity about the shortness of the series there should have been excitement for Clem. Do you remember the first times ever Serral took a couple series off the top Koreans?!? The SC2 world went absolutely bonkers.... We've seen Reynor and a couple others have some success on the world stage but that shouldn't detract from the appreciation we should have for the HUGE steps Clem is making and his breakthrough of DOMINATING series against some of the best SC2 players around!
My negativity isn't pointed at the games being short, but moreso that I felt Zest (and to some extent Stats) had some poor moments which snowballed what could have been so much more. Perhaps the negativity was a bit overdone, I was just super excited for the games and it's frustrating to see what could be so much more, is cut short by a couple of unfortunate moments/decisions. I have plenty of games where I get excited and hyped over how sick Clem is, and comments upon comments calling me out for biased casting. But I truly think, as good as Clem played, Stats and Zest lost these series more than Clem won them. And obvious with Zest, getting battered 4 times in a row by a similar thing, I think I'm allowed to be a little disappointed in that :D

Maybe some of us have just become a Clem fanboys and we are happy that he won the first (of hopefully many!) Wardi Sub Invitationals. We know how much you care and how hard you work, and that you embody what it means to be a true fan/player/content creator of competitive SC2. We all want epic series that go the distance but, whether we like it or not, this is the history being created. This spring/summer has been Clem's coming out party that we have all been waiting for and I hope this tournament will give him confidence in his future matches! P.S. Clem totally won these series ;)!!! If Clem continues to have success and make more top-tier opponents look like Stats and Zest did this tourny, I'll need to call on you to back me up when I say that I knew he could do it back since the (first) Wardi Invitational. D Terran Here. Clem showing off his big brain + micro skills. He out thought and outplayed his opponent throughout this entire series. Clem just keeps getting better. What a series.
Walk overs are still very entertaining viewing - perhaps even more so than long macro games. So dont be too disappointed if the games play out that way.
On a much lower level ofc, but i also recently had a streak of losses to early terran agression. The collosus play stopped working for me , as it seems terrans these days are more tank heavy. I started experimentally going charge zealots heavy first, and it seems to work much better. blink stalker arent an option for my level of micro.
This was interesting in more than one way to see unfold, I hope this installment will be just as entertaining as the rest, though I think that hope has little to do with the matter

why even have protoss race, basically misread just a bit you lose, you missclick you lose, lings run by, or one widow drop its all over. Terrans have mules to compensate, zergs can build 20 workers at once, toss has chrono which boost 3 probes faster. Also late game protoss is a joke, HTs have storms and thats it, you can have disruptors, good luck microing weak unit and nova at once. Protoss needs some huge changes, otherwise if you are a pro why even bother playing protoss, unless you wanna go bankrupt
Why didn’t zest just kept making DTs game 1 Vs a 1 base Terran allin? Would have easily won the game cus CLem couldn’t keep scanning. What am I missing?
I have to say, sometimes I think the balance in SC2 is a bit in a bad spot. This series isn't everything but look at the last GSL finals, it was done in under an hour.
The last 2 GSL finals were walk-overs... TY is the master of TvT and thus he won very easily. Rogue has never lost a BO7 and Stats was just being Stats, predictable to a fault, exactly not what you want to be against someone that can play a BO7 like Rogue... Has nothing to do with balance, just a result of players outmatching their opponent...
@@tobiasL1991 Haven't watched this series yet, but there obviously are balance issues, since toss have gotten, and are looking forward to more buffs in an upcoming patch. The devs feel that zerg have too high winrates vs protoss, so they are not only buffing skytoss, but also changing the baneling to do less damage vs archon, immortal and stalker. People might claim that it's just terran and zerg players being better, but Blizzard doesn't agree apparently. I think it would be interesting get someone like Serral or TY to change to protoss for a year or two, to see if they get to the top. If they did, it would prove that it's just a coincidence that protoss elite players just aren't equal to the level of zerg and terran players.

Its been 10 seasons since a protoss won a GSL... in the last 4 years, protoss haven't won any Intel Extreme Masters events... also the last 4 world championships have been won by 3 zergs and 1 terran and you think protoss is OP... ok....
@@Anthony-eo3ro the use of irony to mock or convey contempt (sarcasm) its obviously not the case that pros all of a sudden suck... stats and zest are "the best" protoss but finals of them both looked like bronze vs pro.
I get that you're busy and working harder than ever, but you should really structure these videos and thumbnails so that it's easy to differentiate what events these games came from. I get that for the most part you don't upload boring series, but it would still be great to be able to come here and watch an even from start to finish. I'm not trying to shame or flame you. It took over a year before AfreekaTV got their GSL videos structure order to prevent spoilers (go steal their organization for yourself please)
I've been super disappointed in tvp lately. Everything the protoss have been doing seems incredibly uninspired and relies what feels heavily on the Terran messing up rather the protoss playing better
Zest played badly, Clem played well and Zest had some really bad luck (especially in game 2, that pylon kill blocking the chrono-boosted colossus by seconds was so painful to watch!)... Can't be helped, these things happen... Thanks for the tournament Wardi! :)
Yeah, like, map 1 Clem just did a poke push, and ended up realizing he could win if he pressed on. Second map, the pylon supply block. Third game, just too much damage done in the beginning. And last game is how most games usually go if you are denied an upgrade. Overall, we see these one time on a series, not one in EVERY match of the series. Zest definitely not on his best against a simply solid Clem, doing his usual thing

Clem is amazing and a very up-and-coming player, but this wasn't true Zest play here. Zest is one of the best players of all time and you'd never guess that based on this series.
I could be in the minority here but I think it would be great to had like 20-30 minutes of black screen at the end of important matches (expecially stomps) like this one so people don't get spoiled. When I saw Clem was wining 2-0 with like 20 minutes left I kinda knew he won and the last 2 matches weren't that exciting for me (btw great commentary as always, keep up the good work and as a baguette myself I hope Clem keeps performing like that in the future)

duacir same issue, people dont want to watch what they didnt click for. And i dont just have endless amounts of games that i just add another at the end of every video ^^
another proof that TvP meta is unbalanced. Even with failed drops the terran can steamroll a protoss with defender advantage, no matter how small the maps.
Firstly lets not just throw out match fixing because Zest played bad. This is hugely negative for the SC2 scene. It's also a ridiculous claim because these games were not broadcast live so there is zero way to bet on the matches, because no site would offer bets on games that are already played in the past (because you know, that would encourgae match fixing...) Maybe think before you write.

He never makes moves this dumb, or this ambitious in tournaments. He’s also rank #3 Protoss in the world
Firstly lets not just throw out match fixing because Zest played bad. This is hugely negative for the SC2 scene.
It's also a ridiculous claim because these games were not broadcast live so there is zero way to bet on the matches, because no site would offer bets on games that are already played in the past (because you know, that would encourgae match fixing...)
Maybe think before you write.
It is a shame from Blizzard to make terran overpower. It no fun to wath t vs z or t vs p. Terran wins în majority situations
