Man are people's attention spans so short... OOP leaves state for college and cuts contact with toxic parents. Jenn, only dated Mark for a month because Mark "got bored" of a relationship. I grew up in an abusive household. My mom was a single mom, and she suffers from bipolar disorder that was undiagnosed at the time. She also got married to a guy who was also an abusive pos. I got a lot of abuse from them, physically and mentally. It only stopped after I left after I turned 18. I understand op and it sounds like she has some sort of illness that isn’t being addressed. I’m happy that my mom eventually divorced dbag after she caught him cheating on her. We had a talk where she broke down and said she was sorry. I’ve chosen to forgive and she was even at my wedding. Now we’re cool with each other and she doesn’t get mad when I’m honest with her about what I think, which is a big reason I would be abused as a child. Reconciling is always worth a shot, but it doesn’t always work out.
To the mom who’s upset about Mark not being invited to the wedding It’s OP’s wedding not Mark’s wedding Get over it If OP doesn’t want to invite Mark to the wedding then he will not invite Mark to the wedding understand it respect it get over it
And the worst is that MARK DIDN'T WANT TO GO. She threw her only chance of getting her son back for literally no reason at all. She definitely deserves what happened, and it surprises me the sisters were able to forgive her and etc

As for OP’s mom you can’t kick him out at 17 you can get arrested for that Your son Mark wanted a car he didn’t specify that he wanted OP’s car so you didn’t have to have to tell OP to give his car to Mark instead you could of went to a dealership and bought Mark a car
so at first Mark was suspicious of Jen and wanted to make sure she was genuine Then after there meeting made a somewhat apology and decided to not go to the wedding because of past. CRAZY WOMEN INITIATE
I’ve been binging these videos for the past few weeks since they’re somewhat addictive. It’s like having Stephen Hawking narrate an episode of ‘Jerry Springer’. With each new story, I become happier knowing I’m not that stupid, while also fearing that there’s a chance that I actually am that stupid.
So the family that is defending Mark is ignoring the fact mark mutually agreed on not going AND the fact he had the audacity to propose to ops girl ops mom is also showing A LOT of favoritism for Mark I hope op and Jen are doing better.
I think the only viable solution would've been to get OP, Mark, and the mother in a room and have OP directly ask him if he wants to go. If Mark has been honest, he'll have the same response and the mother will be forced to hear that she is trying to hurt her golden child by trying to get him into the wedding. If Mark has been dishonest, he'll have to maintain the lie with either OP or the mother, thereby revealing his manipulation to the other. This is good for the mother as her golden child will have blatantly lied to her, or good for the OP as his brother will actively prove that he should have his contact cut as well.
Honestly, mark was wrong at the beginning, but hes also a victim of his mother. The mother is a manipulater and shows by how mark just wants to be left out of the drama. Its a really bad look to date your family/friends ex though.
If nothing bad happened then why is it a bad look? I never understood that mindset. It just comes across as creepy and over possessive while treating the partner like an object
@StonedHunter it's insanely creepy/disgusting to go for people your family has been with. Not to mention disrespectful considering most people prefer living a life that didn't have their exes hanging around at events. This has nothing to do with possession, I think your projecting.
Mark is stoking the fires in the background. He knows he can always get what he wants from mom and has been putting a battery in her back to do this. He is mad his brother 'took' something from him. When the proposal failed, he went covert with mom. He could have easily ended this by telling them to cool it and that he doesnt want to go. Him caring whether or not if he's going NC with him, was his way of seeing if op knew he was causing all this. He doesn't want to be the bad guy.😂
Its so amazing the fact that even afther what he did, because he owned to his mistakes and didn't disturbed them any more, mark just didn't got blocked, the man was like "ye, I f-up, sorry bout it, peace" and vanished for the rest of the story
It’s always about Mark, but not always about your other son, Mark, this Mark Don’t try to gaslight your son don’t try to manipulate your son, emotionally or psychologically, uninviting him was not a step too far that was a choice that he made You not letting it go, persisting and confronting him about him not inviting Mark to the wedding is considered a step too far. now that but you can’t seem to let it go drop it at this point when your son gets older he’s not going to show his kids to you or let you anywhere near his kids. You being a horrible mother is a step too far.
The thing that would mess me uo the most is knowing that they had been intimate before. Even though there probably wasnt much if any emotional connection, but still not nice to think your brother used to have your wife bent over 😂
@@Moleoflands Dude she was his ex. They dated. And they were adults when they dated. They had sex. And probably a lot of it. That's normal in adult relationships
@@StonedHunter But it's not. It's also a previous relationship. And sure for some people sex doesn't mean anything. For others it does. Not that hard to comprehend. I wouldn't wanna be at their house knowing I've been with someone else in their immediate family. I'm not sure how you can't understand that.
Mark has issues if a 1month relationship got this kind of reaction. OP was probably like "Dude, if you dated my Ex I'd call you an idiot if you broke it off with her because she dated me".
I atleast respect mark for just keeping to himself after and calming down after his proposal scheme didnt work out and stepping out of the drama unlike with what u see in most stories

I like how laid back most of the siblings(probably got it from their father), mark had a bit of their mother in him but at least he knows how to back down and listen.
I kinda pity his dad. He doesn’t seem even remotely as bad as the mom. He just seems like he’s trying to damage control her clinically insane behaviour.
People typing in the comments because they only read the title and didn't see the video (which explained they dated for only a month and that MARK had broken up with her).
The OP is completely right. The fact "Mark" himself understand proves that there is a *_very unhealthy attachment_* from the mother to "Mark". The fact that "Mark" really thought "Jen" was trying to "get back at him hrough his brother" is proven by his very sincere apology.
Yes, that mom is absolutely toxic and narcissistic and OP is right to cut off her and anybody that enables her but it didn't have to escalate to this degree if Mark had just sent a text to his mom saying he didn't even want to go to the wedding and to lay off. Mark will publicly fake a proposal, embarrassing himself and everyone there but he won't call his mom to cool off a situation he started. When shit hit the fan, that's when he wanted to stay out of it. The fake proposal was probably a twisted blessing in disguise cause at least OP found out sooner than later that his parents are still horrible but Mark couldn't act like a good brother just that once. If I was OP, I'd also go no contact with Mark.
The parents’ especially the mom created a monster… the mom is delusional. I bet if OP ended up inviting Mark and Mark didn’t show up, the mom would *still* blame OP for Mark not showing up.🤦🏿♀️
The OP's mom has proven that she can't be taken seriously when it comes to being a good mom to all of her children but chose to play favorites with her youngest son and that was most disrespectful in the long run plus it proves one thing: actions speak louder than words and always will plus the OP's mom should realize that and accept that thanks to her own indifference, she has lost her right to have contact with her first child and there's no coming back from that reality big time period.
fr. doesnt have a narrator with an annoying voice, and has clear transitions that say when it's the next update or something. and best of all, it doesn't give their own opinion that i never asked for
I didn't hear anywhere in this story that either OP or Mark told their mom that it was Mark's idea to not go to the wedding first, OP just kept saying it was mutually agreed upon. The mom clearly took that as "Mark agreed to OP's terms" not "Mark wanted this and suggested this first". Just by her comments of "You aren't letting him come over one mistake". I'm not sure if this actually would have changed the outcome cause of her issues, but it might have.
I always find it weird that when stuff happens in other family's between 2 people. Op's tend to say they get loads of messages from other family members like what the hell. What do others have to do eith it. Its just sad
That “mom” has issues sounds narcissistic to me and using one child to praise and punishing everyone else is terrible also the mom has severe issues so of course she’d think strangers on the internet don’t have any standing for what they’re saying the sad thing is she’s not going to change and live with this behavior until she dies
Holy shit I remembered hearing the story before the big update and Jesus Christ that woman is a terrible mother. How the fuck do you think making your older son give your younger son his car is ok? That’s just fucking awful Edit: Also as bad as it is I hope his sisters get fed up of their parents too. None of them deserved the treatment they got growing up and now that all this has gone down with the sisters making their support for OP clear, I have a feeling their mom will be going after them too
Strangers on the internet are the MOST qualified to comment on situations like this, as they bring an outside perspective not influenced the past or emotions.
Nah that's wild. The parents are just legitimately bad. It would be interesting to get perspective as to why they so blatantly preferred Mark over their other children, but either way it doesn't matter.
Oh my god the whole “family” shit is so annoying. It’s only family when the abused speaks up or defends themselves. When the parents/siblings are the one abusing, family isn’t even on their mind. Shits so annoying.
In the sake of fairness, normally dating of friends or brothers, ex, would be a man code violation. But, there are exceptions to this one if you did not know, said girl, was your friend or brothers, ex or if you got your friend or brothers permission after at least three to six months after the break up. However, this relationship only lasted one month, so most of the man who rules do not apply.
In terms of Reddit villain, Marks probably the least villain one. Looking at it from his perspective, if we allow low IQ, male brashness and overconfidence as well as him thinking the world revolves around himself, it makes logical sense for his actions. They arent good, but at least they follow a train of rational (the train tracks are made of play-dough but still)
It is *really* weird to hook up with, date, and then marry your brothers ex, some would even say in poor taste or wrong Doesn't really excuse behaviors here though
I'll never understand why people make proposing a public spectale. It puts unwanted pressure on the one being proposed to. Yeah, do it in public, but in a way that the one you propose to doesn't feel pressured to say yes
99% of the time women are being proposed to, no exageration that just is. I can agree with you on that however judging by the norm of the occurance it's only an issue for some but you're stating it as if it's an issue in of itself. Many proposals have been done in public and the women loved it. So for me although I get where you're coming from, I see this more of a woman to woman basis issue and not a "it's bad by default". Many women have said no during public proposal, so the pressure didn't stop them, many women have said yes and been fine. But those few whom say yes and don't mean yes or say no because the pressure made them nervous, is that who were are judging public proposal by? if so it's not a logical stance to take. I proposed in private on a 3 day weekend trip with just me and the wife, good hotel, candle light and such. But not because of pressure, I knew she would say yes, we're just both private people. First thing she did was tell her family, mine already knew I was going to.
The brother causes this shit, doesn't take responsibility and lets OP deal with the mess he made, his attitude towards the situation shows what an immature ass he is, why in the ever loving fuck would you apologize for punching him when he was the cause of it, he should be apologizing for this mess.
This mother is very unhinged, i can't stand when parents do this to their children. That mother needs help bad Edit: i get the father wants to keep family a family, but the things his mother said are unforgivable. She can't come back from what she said
I would never have a relationship with the ex of a close friend, let alone a family member. Even if neither myself and/or the ex didn't know about the relations in question, the relationship would end right away.

also doesn't help that Mark never did anything to try and help, he just basically said "not my problem".
The mother needs to get a mother-effing grip for once in her life and face the fact that she ruined her family by spoiling Mark. Then she needs to hear from Mark how he decided to remove himself from the wedding and accept it. She's so anal about keeping the peace when she's causing chaos left and right. Thank God Mark had the sense to be civil when he rescinded his invite.
24:04 at this point i completely forgot that this was originally about Mark and Mark was the reason this whole post/story even started. everything had just moved onto how crazy the mom is
You wrote mark and mark
@@umar4664 i was using "and" as a conjunction of the 2 sentences, not as a separator of a list. So with proper grammar it's "...Mark, and Mark..."

I have a theory that Mark is an affair baby and nobody but OP’s mother knows about it.
Not familliar with the typical behaviours around affair babies, but why would they become the most precious jewels of the lot?
@@FlamesAndShadows I theorize that when a woman cheats, her heart belongs to her affair partner but she wants the comfortable life her husband provides as a backup plan. So she continues her version of love through the child that she and her affair partner created. Like I said it’s a theory, because I truly don’t know if a cheater is even capable of loving someone else besides themselves.
I don't think so. Sometimes, parents just have favorites. The most compliant, the most likely to succeed, the most attractive...the most popular...
@@theanominousyour theory is completely plausible. Narcissists often attach themselves to others who they see as an extension of themselves. Her son was probably that.
It happens a lot maybe they should do DNA test
Jen sounds like a keeper and a really nice person. She tried to keep out of it, didn't press OP for details, and only put her foot down after all that, and one of her conditions was to have OP go to therapy. And, she hasn't just turned and high-tailed it to get out of the drama that comes with OP's family. It sounds like she genuinely cares about him and I can see why he's smitten with her so fast.
Man are people's attention spans so short...
Here is the rundown;
Mark was the golden child of the family, to the point OOP's parents forced him to give him his car OOP bought with his money, and even put shellfish with the OOP is allergic to in a dinner supposedly for OOP. OOP leaves state for college and cuts contact with toxic parents. Jenn, only dated Mark for a month because Mark "got bored" of a relationship. Oop meets Jenn when he moves back into state, and only reestablishes contact for his sisters, and isn't aware mark dated jenn, bc he was no contact with the family.
Mark is still sort of a shitty brother golden baby boy, mommy dearest assaults Jenn in epic tantrum, and Daddy dearest is an enabler. Still see golden boy Mark as their baby who can do no wrong.
Oop and Jenn decided to finally cut out his toxic brother, parents, and family. Sisters, aunt, and uncle are still good.
He didn't cut out his toxic brother, he is just not invited to the wedding
@@ShiNijuuAKLi was about to text the same thing, but yeah, the brother seem more of misguided than being a huge asshole, but that might just be me
@@Potramon yeah it would just be you. The amount of apologizing for Mark's behaviour in the comments is ridiculous - that only means those commenting in support of Mark are exactly like Mark.
@@ResidentWeevil2077 probably proyection of people who were the golden child.
Still i can also see this is more the parents raise him like that. Not diminishing how much of an A-hole Mark is, but after you see his parents, you can realize he was raise into this behaviour.

“Why are you treating me like a villain???”
“Uhh because you are?”
Love how in the end the mom is like "Strangers don't have the right to call me a bad person". I'm here sitting like: "ok then, who does? Family? ... Oh wait"
This toxic behaviour of child favouritism is such an epidemic in families. It blinds parents from creating a safe space for raising their children. It’s crazy how the mother behaved terribly making everything about Mark the golden child. Making him the entitled person he is. No accountability for his actions. Scolding the older brother when he was in the wrong. Out of order. No wonder certain people have cut off their families
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO AND NOT JUDGE THE SITUATION BASED ON THE TITLE
Holy hell OP's mom has a special place in hell
I've watched the video in its entirety, I still think OP's brother is a moron with low self esteem and no confidence in himself that did his shit stunt to boost his ego only for it to backfire horribly
Wym? Honestly my thoughts beginning to end were “wow brother must be a dick” and “wow so the brothers a dick, and the parents are insane” what aren’t we supposed to be judging? Nobody was validated through updates or further in, so who/what are you trying to defend?
Brother is an easily manipulated idiot and the parents are insane
@@smo_phoenix Several people are saying that OP is wrong in marrying his brother's ex but they haven't even watched the video to understand the context
@@smo_phoenix The Mother is a narcissist and the dad is basically just giving her a free pass, the spoiled child Mark was always going to be fucked up in this scenario tbh, the main issue is the parents, the mother needs actual help though because her behaviour is psychotic and she probably is mentally incapable of understanding her warped behaviour.
To the mom who’s upset about Mark not being invited to the wedding
It’s OP’s wedding not Mark’s wedding
Get over it
If OP doesn’t want to invite Mark to the wedding then he will not invite Mark to the wedding understand it respect it get over it
I mean, it might be different if the reason was BS like racism or homophobia, but seriously.
And the worst is that MARK DIDN'T WANT TO GO.
She threw her only chance of getting her son back for literally no reason at all. She definitely deserves what happened, and it surprises me the sisters were able to forgive her and etc
@@RequiemPoete homophobia is based
That mother. Oh my god. The way she tried to gaslight her son after her other son tried to steal his fiance over some bs that he made up in his head, and then say that it's op being insecure to not let him at the wedding. Id shid
As for OP’s mom you can’t kick him out at 17 you can get arrested for that
Your son Mark wanted a car he didn’t specify that he wanted OP’s car so you didn’t have to have to tell OP to give his car to Mark instead you could of went to a dealership and bought Mark a car
That was cheaper in her point of view I guess
@@Bababooyii
Maybe because she didn’t want to go out there and buy a car with her own god damn money
And the way she behaved along with her threat is akin to a bully
Also she’s lazy
OP's mom ended up completely eclipsing Mark in villainy as the story progressed.
"Throwing old mistakes in her face" You mean... Consequences of her actions?
"Dont worry you are uninvited anyway" I LOVE OP!!!
I bet ya that the mom want to replace OP with Mark as the groom.
That mom is insane
It would be funny if he allowed Mark to be in the wedding as a guest, just to make the mom mad.
so at first Mark was suspicious of Jen and wanted to make sure she was genuine Then after there meeting made a somewhat apology and decided to not go to the wedding because of past. CRAZY WOMEN INITIATE
Poor girl
"I'm not close to my family, you won't ever see them"
family proceeds to be the worst thing about dating him.
I think the mum is actually worse than the brother
Honestly, mark was wrong at the beginning, but hes also a victim of his mother. The mother is a manipulater and shows by how mark just wants to be left out of the drama.
Its a really bad look to date your family/friends ex though.
Not OP's fault. He didn't know it was Mark's ex, and she was only his ex for a few weeks.
10:05 "you're an asshole! That was in the past!"
"Yet you're still making the same mistakes..."
Jen should be really thankful to Mark because he broke up with her. She dodged the Red Flag brother and got the Green Flag Brother.
But wtf did the dad do??😂😂😂
Hard to believe the OP's father doesn't try to rein in his delusional wife.
It’s always about Mark, but not always about your other son, Mark, this Mark
Don’t try to gaslight your son don’t try to manipulate your son, emotionally or psychologically, uninviting him was not a step too far that was a choice that he made
You not letting it go, persisting and confronting him about him not inviting Mark to the wedding is considered a step too far. now that but you can’t seem to let it go drop it at this point when your son gets older he’s not going to show his kids to you or let you anywhere near his kids. You being a horrible mother is a step too far.
The thing that would mess me uo the most is knowing that they had been intimate before. Even though there probably wasnt much if any emotional connection, but still not nice to think your brother used to have your wife bent over 😂
That's never said it happened.
@@Moleoflands Dude she was his ex. They dated. And they were adults when they dated. They had sex. And probably a lot of it. That's normal in adult relationships
@Celtic00 ok who cares? It's just sex. People put way way too much weight into it. Why are you thinking about your siblings' sex life anyway?
@@StonedHunter But it's not. It's also a previous relationship. And sure for some people sex doesn't mean anything. For others it does. Not that hard to comprehend. And idk I wouldn't fancy sitting at a dinner table for a family event knowing my partner had relations with one of my family members. And same for vice versa.
Parents are toxic, but it is good that OP is keeping in touch with the sisters as they are not crazy.
Mother making OP give his own car that he bought with his own money to mark is wild
I atleast respect mark for just keeping to himself after and calming down after his proposal scheme didnt work out and stepping out of the drama unlike with what u see in most stories
Some people really go out of their way to forgive absolutely whatever people pull. I have cut off people from my life for FAR less and Im happy with that.
So glad my parents weren’t insane and loved my sister and I equally as kids, and now as adults. Good Lord, the drama.
I love how Mark turned into a okay guy at the end of this, not at all like I was expecting it to go by the title
i love that mark just didn't give a shit. and op's mom just kept going and going and beating the dead horse 100million times over😭
The way Mark went from villian to pretty chill and basically unimportant in the end
Honestly mark wasnt even that bad as i expected, immatute and bad is i would say what he was, real villian was the mom
I like how laid back most of the siblings(probably got it from their father), mark had a bit of their mother in him but at least he knows how to back down and listen.
this is the biggest problem: not prosecuting mommies
I don't get why the sisters are still talking with the parents. The parents were awful to them too.
I kinda pity his dad.
He doesn’t seem even remotely as bad as the mom.
He just seems like he’s trying to damage control her clinically insane behaviour.
If Mark was a better person, he should of told the mum HIMSELF that it was his himself that decided he won't attend the wedding.
This went from been about his AH of a brother, to his parents been bigger AH's than 10 of his brothers
Omg just today I saw his past with his parents on tiktok and now I can listen to the whole story, slay
It’s funny that the mother didn’t know the son was allergic to shellfish 😂
3:16 if my brother tried to propose to my soon to be wife the cops would have been called just to separate us
People typing in the comments because they only read the title and didn't see the video (which explained they dated for only a month and that MARK had broken up with her).

Oop is a doormat i would have called the police and had mommy dearest charged.
That's why Jenn like him.
Y didn't mark just tell his mom he didn't wanna go? Why didn't op say that he didn't want to come?
If I was OP, I'd also go no contact with Mark.
mark messed up once and he’s seems chill and he was ok with not going by why was the mom making such a big deal about it
the upside down parkour is crazy
This is Clearly a golden Child situation
You even have updates? U arre definitely the best Reddit stories channel
fr. doesnt have a narrator with an annoying voice, and has clear transitions that say when it's the next update or something. and best of all, it doesn't give their own opinion that i never asked for
Mom: Don't throw my past mistakes in my face!!
She yells while continuously making those same mistakes
mark definitely golden child of mother
That mother's narciccism is on a whole new level.
Lmao OP's mother needs a reality check on being human
Thanks for posting the updates!!!
That’s just fucking awful
Edit: Also as bad as it is I hope his sisters get fed up of their parents too.
16:42 So they made a dinner for you but put stuff you were allergic to in it? Wtf
It just goes to show the mother doesn't give the slightest shit about OP. The only child she cares about is Mark.
In terms of Reddit villain, Marks probably the least villain one. Looking at it from his perspective, if we allow low IQ, male brashness and overconfidence as well as him thinking the world revolves around himself, it makes logical sense for his actions. They arent good, but at least they follow a train of rational (the train tracks are made of play-dough but still)
I hope he goes no contact with his Mom and Dad. Apparently the Golden Boy means everything to them and he and his mean nothing.
What I would’ve said to the dad was “this is the last words you’ll EVER hear from me you are a horrible parents!”
No you are not wrong. You didn’t know it was his Ex, he obviously isn’t a good person to begin, and seriously… this isn’t high school.
11:56 Girlfriend is spineless in relationship 12:10 girlfriend is tearing the family apart. That's a wild 180.
It is *really* weird to hook up with, date, and then marry your brothers ex, some would even say in poor taste or wrong
Doesn't really excuse behaviors here though
Mom is angry that Jen chose OP over Mark, unlike she usually does! It's an anomaly to her that her golden child wasn't chosen.
The brother causes this shit, doesn't take responsibility and lets OP deal with the mess he made, his attitude towards the situation shows what an immature ass he is, why in the ever loving fuck would you apologize for punching him when he was the cause of it, he should be apologizing for this mess.
Heard this story a few other channels. It always would be weird to me if my brother and my wife had been in a relationship
This mother is very unhinged, i can't stand when parents do this to their children. That mother needs help bad
Edit: i get the father wants to keep family a family, but the things his mother said are unforgivable. She can't come back from what she said
I would never have a relationship with the ex of a close friend, let alone a family member. Even if neither myself and/or the ex didn't know about the relations in question, the relationship would end right away.
I love how the whole story somehow keeps returning to mark even tho he turned into an npc 💀
