Herman would love to drive in that snow.
Herman would love to live here. There’s lots of mud he could play in 🤣
I have never seen Buddy the Dog so happy. Pretty cool. 😊
These are the kind of days where you need 1 modern tractor with can, so you can be warm, and easily plow stuff and do your chores
9650
Ross, I just love when you film while driving the 1650. I think it’s the muffler but I just love the sound! Any way I could talk you into doing more filming of the 1650 running? Thanks Ross! I love your videos!
Good video Ross. I always thought the snow just brought on more work
Another great video Ross. I also could do without the snow. When I was a kid, I loved it. When your young the bones bend a little. Not anymore. Buddy seemed to be in his glory.
Agree. The snow is fun until you have to spend hours clearing it 🤣
Winter - it's all attitude Ross. Buddy's got it. You don't. Be like Buddy.
🤣
Snow piles are a fact of life most years in Wisconsin. I'm tired of cold and brown..... theres basically no snow here.
Maybe I can mail it to you 🤣
We would like some of that snow in east central WI
I am right there with you Ross, I hate the snow. I am about a half hour east of St. Louis and we got 10.5” Sunday.
❄️❄️Buddy the Dog!!!!❄️❄️ 😊

We got 4-5 inches the first day. I used the Zero Turn Mower and cut it down to about 3" in the driveway. Then did a 2nd pass cutting it down to as low as it would cut. Just finished and a neighbor showed up with his tractor and rear blade. He cleared a lane for over a mile where he and we could get to a road that would be opened first.
Then we got freezing rain over everything and another 4" of snow. That was when I fired up Juliet, the daughter of Herman and Ophelia Oliver. She has tire chains and a 48" dozer blade, and a cultivator hanging on her 3 pt. hitch. She is a mighty 13 hp and got the drive back down to passable. We old people need to make sure any emergency vehicles can get in. Our phone system took an 8-day crap. We could call out but the phone system would not make the phones ring. The system is so antique that when they found a control card had failed, it took them 7 days to find and get one sent in to repair the ringers on about 7 customers' phones. Kind of bad for us because we cannot get cellphone coverage here. Plus those who called to check how we were doing thought we had gone somewhere for a week. We did have the internet most of the time but when it failed we could not even watch a movie to combat boredom. We get a blazing speed of 12 Mbs internet speed. They are Frontier Communications and are just one step better than smoke signals.
We did have to go to town for medications needed and it was a mile of idling on the very slick gravel roads that our inept road commissioner made a lousy path that went almost into the ditches which are 8" higher than the road they keep dragging deeper. Ross is blessed with blacktop roads everywhere.
My old service dog loves the snow. She ran for a mile leading the way for the old Honda Big Red and one would have thought she was a year-old dog.
great video you got the driveway plowed an the cattle fed
Thanks Ron!
Buddy the dog sure loves the snow. Nice video.
When I was in school I hated snow days because, as your title says, the farm was always open.😢. Going to school got us out of lots of physical activity in inclement weather. I loved school.... most of my school mates could never understand why. I see the 1650 knows what I am talking about too.
Our school used to make us come come even when we knew we would get sent home early. My mom was smart about it. She called the school and tell them she was keeping us home because of the weather and we had better not be counted absent.
@danw6014 yup, that sometimes happened with us to. Especially if there was an ice storm.
@anthonyhengst2908 the school wouldn't have to count it as a snow day if we were there til noon. That's why they would do that.
Ross, we're 30 mi south east of St Louis, got about 2in of ice and sleet over night on sat, All day Sunday we got another 7 in of snow on top. I got a notion and took the little Deere lawn tractor and used the mower and blew off most of it down to the layer of ice! Never tried that before, if it's cold enough, it works. If the snow is wet, forget it. It's been raining since Thanksgiving and still have corn out. Was hoping it would freeze enough to finish, but all the snow has insulated the ground and it's still too soft under the snow to carry the combine.
I work for a township, and been plowing snow for the last 5 days, really starting to suck,so I can feel your pain Ross.
I live in Il. my idea of ideal snow is the july page of a calander in colorado and snow and it stays there.
at our house in so I'll we got ice an a lot of people are without electric
That’s what I’m always afraid of. The ice causes more problems than anything.
I guess the snow/mud must of protected the camera when it got ran over. Don't have to much fun in the snow. Thanks again for sharing
No shortage of adventures with a heavy snow. We went from super-dry during the harvest season to a rainy pattern that has gradually been soaking things up. The critters seem to take it all in stride.
If it gets really bad, you'll have to put the bale spike on the 9650 😂
I feel for you because that's what we're dealing with, somewhat! We got around a quarter of an inch of ice with about three or so inches of snow on top. We also store our hay outside and they are net wrapped, so with the ice you know what that means, the peeling of icy, snowy hay embedded wrap. We've done about 3 bales or so with having to drop them on the ground until it warms up enough to thaw so we can either burn the wrap or peel it out of the ice/snow. Anyways, I enjoyed watching, thanks for the fun, have a safe evening!
They got us under a winter storm watch for friday jan 10 morning to saturday jan 11 AM for this weeks storm coming....
They tried to get us all excited and put out travel restrictions but we only got about an inch
You are the cow ! Holy
I am ready for spring 😂. Stay warm.
Have you looked into getting a heat houser for one of the loader tractors?
Yes, and I haven’t had much luck finding one. The company I called never replies back. I have an old one. I could probably find new canvas and make it work. Although usually, I never liked them growing up because they would scratch the tractors all up.
@@rosstheoliverman Burch mfg in Iowa is who I was looking at a few weeks ago. But decided we don't use our tractor in the winter enough to justify the expense.
We’re getting jipped again in Michigan. If it wasn’t for our big lake we’d probably have bare ground.
Extremely low! Yep!
Ross said snow... bah Humbug
🥶🥶🥶
I don't like winter or snow, but it's better with some snow on the ground than just dreary gray. We only got an inch or so up here from that storm.
Nice! I barely got any snow in southwest Michigan!
Southeast Michigan and we hardly get any.
@@danw6014normally we get lake effect snow.
How you make a paychk ? Man no timeclock no coffee break. N no quittingtim lol
👍👍👍👍👍
The whole problem is you're not used to it come to Central Wisconsin but not this year cuz we don't have any snow yet but I'm sure when it comes we'll get it all at once like we did that one year 30 in of snow in 24 hours what's the high winds
Or in April
A cow say we could oreded parts holy i mean hoof fy n shipn free we get somt rfrreee lol
Brrrrrrr
Well, this doesn't look near as fun as yesterday's video!
Don’t you roll a bill out put cow lay hon, and eat
I’ve don’t that before but they waste a lot that way.
