    I had a board with a pretty big crown in it. I didn't have any of those tools and my clamp wasn't big enough. What I did have was a ratchet strap. Worked great. These tips are also helpful because I have a lot of more boards to go

    Those Irwin deck adapters will fit perfectly on the DeWalt Heavy Duty Clamps 600,lb. They are in my opinion a big improvement over the Irwin clamps.

    another way I used is to put a screw to the side of the joist near where you want to cinch then put a pc of 2x4 or whatever that can let you put a lever action with the deckboard edge being the falcrum.

    how is it the irwin deck adaptor doesnt fit an irwin quik grip? probably because the quik grips you have are the older type like you mentioned and dimensions are different comp[ared to the newer clamps ? i still think they (irwin) shouldve considered that for those with there older tools.....

    I have used all of these methods.one more is to screw a board on top of the joist and use the Prybar to bend the decking.One question if something happens to a deck board ie stain or a big cut how hard is it to replace a board in the middle of the deck?

    • @drdecks
      @drdecks  4 роки тому +1

      kobelarry Not too difficult. You pop out the plugs and un screw the board.

    I keep a 2 to 3 foot length of 2 x 4 with a 3" deck screw driven in near one end. Screw it to the side of your framing member next to the deck board, apply pressure, screw deck board down. Costs 0, works great. Of course it wont work with a bladder but we haven't done that...yet.

    Why don't deck builder stain/seal the entire faming system before installing the deck boards? I did it with a sprayer in under two yours.

    I have a deck framed up. I can save a ton of money if i lay the boards myself....even buy some nice tools like a bender for the money I save..but I am a bit fearful of course as I have never done it..and its been an expensive project with the price of lumber...i don't want to ruin it...where is the best place to find out how to "lay out" deck boards on a irregular shaped deck with a few odd corners...can anyone do it?

    • @drdecks

    You can also use a cat’s paw in place of a chisel on the side (instead of the of the top) of the joist

      I would rather hear someone say edit , than hear someone say " bro " anyway !!!
      You sound like a fool how you speak . You literally said " bro aint say modify " . Who the hell talks like that . I don't think you should be the one talking about how someone else says stuff
