Well, Pretty Little Liars was pitched to Sara Shepard as a teen soap version of Desperate Housewives when she was hired to make the novels by Alloy Entertainment. I mean the 5 year time jump, the getting hit by cars, someone being blinded (which is outrageous, because the PLL books came out before DH’s season 4’s Something's Coming episode, where Carlos ends up blind afterwards, and the fact DH was on ABC and PLL was on ABC Family, it’s obviously they are sister shows. Bree is Spencer, Gabby is Hanna, Susan is Aria, and Lynette is Emily.
