    I’ve been in pain for over a year now and no amount of stretching, exercise or massage has helped. Then yesterday I stumbled upon this video, tried the exercises here and today is the first time in a year+ without pain 😭 thank you so much!

    I did not have a lacrosse ball so I supplemented with a tennis ball and I had substantial relive after just 10 minutes of treatment. I've been performing the pigeon stretch weekly for over 15 years so I knew that would have little effect. I was looking for something new to try and that ball/deep tissue treatment certainly helps. Thank you and thumbs up from me !

    How amazing to have found you! I did too many chores yesterday & woke up to sharp electric pain from both sides of the s.i. jt. Not a great feeling. Normally i would race to get a gentle Chiro treatment. I’m holding off and performing these stretches instead. Afterwards i will reassess.

    Thank you so much for sharing this!!! I have had random hip and SI joint pain every day for the last 2 months, feeling uncomfortable almost constantly. The related nerve pain has been unbearable. Have been going to doctor, doing physiotherapy (massage, chiropractic treatments, exercises) and nothing has helped so far. Yesterday I did as shown in the video and today is the first day in 2 months I can wear pants without feeling uncomfortable. The tennis ball clearly opened something in the upper glute that had been stuck for all this time.

    Does anyone know what sudden, INTENSE, stabbing, pain in the SI area, especially when transitioning from sitting or bending to a standing position could be? It kind of feels like somethings slipping out of place or maybe being pinched. I’m talking a 9 on a 1-10 scale of pain. It goes away in maybe 10 seconds though. I can’t sit long or it gets uncomfortable and I eventually get that stabbing pain even if sitting. I’m only really comfortable lying down.

    Pretty sure some of these movements is how my si joint became inflamed

    • @emilygrace3526
      @emilygrace3526 Рік тому +1

      Overdoing a good thing can definitely cause inflammation. For example, stretching is good, but overstretching too hard or too often or even simply incorrectly can lead to injury. If you think some of these stretches and movements caused the problem, my personal (and unprofessional) advice would be to let the area rest as much as possible, while using hot and cold therapy and possibly gentle massage. You may want to gently introduce some of the movements again soon, rather than stopping completely. Back to the stretching analogy, after giving an injured muscle time to heal from poor stretching, you should slowly begin to stretch again, but very gently at first, and still with plenty of rest and hot and cold therapy. Eventually you can begin to increase the intensity of the movement, and remember to listen to your body.
      Sorry to write you a novel, but I hope I could help in some way.

    Why are these stretches making my pain worse? I've been doing them for years, actually, even before the sudden onset of my SI joint pain six months ago, but every time I try them now (along with hamstring stretches), the numbness shoots down my left as soon as I stand back up, and the pain increases. I always wind up waking the next morning in agony!

    • @ryno1808
      @ryno1808 6 місяців тому +1

      Your sj1 joint probley has chronic inflammation in it. its called sacroliist you DO NOT do theses exercises it will create a even more burning sensation in your sj1 joint to your glute down your hamstring depending how bad it is..I recently had l5 s1 decompression spinal surgery due to this pain which was though to be siatica and it did not work as i was miss diagnosed. I was told to do some off theses exercise which made it worst and told it was nerve tension from surgery..untill i was diagnosed with chronic sacroliist in the s1j from a mri scan... getva mri asap sacroliist is hard to diagnosed as it gives all the same related problems as bludge and herniated disc do..

      @EnigmaticAnomaly 6 місяців тому

      @@ryno1808 Thanks for your reply. I'm going to look into this. Got a follow up appointment with the ortho in a few weeks, and we'll see if he can get me in for an MRI. My last visit with him he prescribed me a round of Prednisone, and then when that was done to try this Diclofenac NSAID -- neither of which I've taken because I just don't trust all this crap they love to pump in us (side effects causing worse problems than what you're trying to fix).

    Should I do both sides or just the side that hurts the most??

    • @emilygrace3526
      @emilygrace3526 Рік тому

      Hi I hope this isn’t too late, but please ALWAYS stretch both sides! Your body always tries to balance itself out, and some of the most common injuries (especially in the sports world) are when one side is rehabilitated without rehabilitating the other. The injured side may need the help more, but your healthy side has been compensating for the lack in the same place, so there may be micro injuries on that side too that need to be rehabilitated and stretched properly. For example, think of someone with a hurt ankle. They may be consciously or unconsciously (usually both) favoring the injured ankle, which puts more pressure and tension on the healthy ankle to make up for the imbalance. I’ve certainly had my share of (thankfully, minor) injuries due to only stretching and rehabilitating one side, and I hope I was able to help someone make better choices than I did.
