I love this movie. I always felt drawn to this movie as a teenager. My husband met me in 1996. I dont remember him, but he told his sister he wanted to marry me. Then in 2001 he asked me to dance at a club but i was waiting for my boyfriend at the time. We both had miserable abusive marriages in the meantime. Then, in 2005, he came into the restaurant i was working at. He asked me out, but i was reluctant because of the abuse i had gone through. However, just a few days before, i had prayed to God to send me my soulmate. He continued to come into the restaurant and talk to me until I eventually asked him out. I loved how he was always making me laugh. After our first date, I had a dream our souls were kissing. We have been together for 19 years now. It wasn't always easy because we both had a lot of trauma and baggage from our pasts. However, i truly feel like God answered my prayers. I often wonder how different my life would have been had we come together earlier, and i had never gone through the horrible abuse of my previous marriage. We dance together all the time. At parties with family or just the two of us at home.

Somewhere in Time saved my life, after a failed marriage, like in Made in Heaven, knowing I was searching for the woman I had dreamed of in 1976 , in 1996 I saw a picture of my Alese McKinna and she was from Russia, that was 25 years ago and at age 51 I found her and now I have been blessed with 3 children ages 16,12,10 and a loving wife. I went to see Somewhere in Time 17 times while it was in theaters, the theater manager gave me 5 free tickets, saying I had been so many times, I shared them with friends. I was slower than Elmo as it took me longer than 30 years to find her, and just as in the movie she found me at age 51.In my life of 75 years I have got to live out all my favorite movies, including others like Pretty Woman,City Slickers, Its a Wonderful Life and the song by Ringo Starr " You Never know Which Way life is Going to Take You. 2 Reply

Great movie, however the original score of this song is sooooo much better. Martha Davis of The Motels sings it in the movie. It's much more romantic! Give it a check!
Shit happens- same identical thing in video happened to me,. Took 14 years, 6,000 mi + and a year or two before this movie came out, it happened as in video. A few differences, it was a bad neighborhood; I was only one of 2 white guys in the neighborhood, then I saw her and visa- versa, two days later busted down 2 doors, broke her boyfriends arm, and took her out of that shithole.. I was 30 then,/// 10 years later she died on me..... Havnt ever been the same since. I died inside too. That was 25 years ago
Neil Young absolutely ruins yet another song. Can't say I'm the least bit surprised. My cat gets closer to hitting the notes when I step on its tail than Young does when he blunders through a vocal.
@@ksol1460tv I can't believe she can't hear the heartbreak in Neil's vocals ! This song brings me to tears, it's so beautiful ! His range in songwriting is astounding ! So much of his music has been sung by other artists, but when you hear him set the structure and tempo, it is apparent what he felt when he wrote it. I guess people just don't want to spend the time to really listen.
