With the Yamaha you tilt then motor all the way up, then pull the oil plug... No oil will come out until you tilt it back down so you can put it into a container.

What's difference between Mercury & Yamaha as far fuel consumption, noise, idling, price, etc.- acceleration to plane hull or any info for fellow looking at both motors? In the market for 80 Jet engine, I'm sure both quality engines- thnx for video!

I was told once the Mercury jet pump is slightly bigger allowing it to be slightly faster. Outside of that I don't know if one is more fuel efficient than the other. Jets by nature are loud outboards. The Mercury may be slightly louder. I know the Mercury 65 jet I had in the past may have been louder than the Yamaha 80 hp jet I have now.

I have exactly the same outboard. Do you have service manual book for this outboard, if so what is the part number for this book? Than you.

Every 6 months unless I am running a lot of trips. Then I would do it every 3 months or less. Its messy and I have yet to do it on this trailer.

Yeah it shouldn't be burning oil when it's new.
