The Yamaha Lube is a replacement for the T-9 which I've been using for 30 years along with the Ring free and non-ethanol gas!! Use a high pressure Evinrude lower unit oil and plus several types of marine grease for shafts and trailer bearings.....The minute you stop maintaining your equipment is when you start looking for a tow.....LOL!!
Great video. I have some scratches on my boats gel coat from beaching the boat and from little dings from loading the boat on the trailer and the inner wheel fender coming in contact. The fiberglass shows in these little spots. What product would I use to repair these nicks?
Question? When you where showing the fogging process was that a 2 stroke or a 4? Reason im asking is my boat is a 2 stroke and is horrible at getting to some of these spark plugs for fogging. Yes I would take each one off and spray inside. But that looks way easier to fog it the way you showed.
Here is some grease. I use this for anything that needs to be greasy. Here is some oil. I use this for anything that needs to be oily. Here is some cleaner. I use this on stuff that I want to clean.
I love the Mercury extreme grease. I put it on all engine bolts and on the prop-shaft. Never had an issue removing any hardware I coated with it. I don’t think you could go wrong with the Yamaha or Evinrude greases. They’d probably all work equally well at staving off corrosion and keeping things lubricated.
With BRP discontinuing Evinrude, do you have a stock of triple guard grease? Do you have a solid alternative? IMO yamalube isn’t as tacky as triple guard. Yamalube almost seems to be the same as Lucas Marine grease.
Can you do a follow up on the triple guard grease? I ordered a new tube of it and it has been changed from blue to yellow. No longer as tacky either. Please let us know if you’ve found anything that can compare as I haven’t.
Really? Haven't seen that yet, but haven't ordered any triple guard lately, that's unfortunate, that was the best stuff. We have been using a lot of Mercury Extreme Grease or 2-4-C. :(
I am also a fan of the Evinrude Triple Guard Grease. Have not found a grease as resistant to washout and mixing with water as that stuff. I have tried a lot of different greases too.
OK so with the gear case lube I learnt at the mercury technicians course that the premium gear lube was for all engines up to 75 HP, and the high performance gear lube for everything above 75hp. The racing stuff you have to refer to the manual for the correct lube. Thanks again Aaron cheers
Great video as always. If in need to use ring free, should an external gas tank be used or you just put it in the boat gas tank? Also, does it matter how much gas you mix it with?
Can you use the yamaha ring free and yamaha internal engine cleaner on a 2 stroke evinrude etec? I want to decarb it and would love to do it the best way possible. The Evinrude Tuner is not available in california anymore, so thats out of the question. I had an evinrude dealer tell me ring free would be bad for it since it would strip all the 2 stroke oil. Please let me know your thoughts!
Can low power trim fluid in a stern drive set off the alarm?? Had a random alarm at random moments and then outdrive trim stopped working but pump runs. Please any help?!! (Both trim and alarm are problems)
My favorite penetrating oil is knock-er-loose, if you can find it. We have 5 lawn spraying trucks that we have to maintain, so I’ve tried all of them. I’ve also read somewhere that you’re supposed to use 4200 fast cure within 24 hours of puncturing the seal. Is that true?
Aaron I've used the Quicksilver spray power tune and it works! Too bad the BRP gasket sealing compound is getting hard to come by! Great video btw, you could've used some of the many boat products on the shelf in my shop lol 😬. BRP grease is the cats meow and Quicksilver too. Buy the BRP products while you still can!
Would love to see some tech tools in action. Things like using YDS to diagnose problems (I'm a Yamaha owner, so don't know the Mercury or BRP sides), how you test for & find electrical faults (saw the power probe on your bench and googled it to learn more), how a technician would remove all the water from a gas tank, common ways people rebuild/replace old switch panels. Thanks for all you do and share!
This is the third time watching this video. What are your thoughts on fluid film for corrosion protection. When I lived in the salt belt (New Hampshire) it worked wonders in the winters protecting everything from the road salt.
Hi. I watch your videos every week. I get a lot of good info from you as a result. But I own an I/o Baja 180 Islander with a 4.3 lx carbed engine. I was wondering if you ever have the opportunity to work on and video stern drive boats? I didn’t know Mercury made engine internal cleaner. I use sea foam. Do you have any experience with that product? Thanks for the vids!
When it comes to cleaning off carbon buildup, I use Safety Kleen brake cleaner aerosol. It smells god awful and makes your eyes water, but it cleans like a dream.
You need to check out Wurth Fix All !! It's $$ but well Wurth it !! LOL I have used this stuff for awhile and It has really saved my but more than once .
I’m guessing this is his raw feed and he typically goes back with a voice over during editing for his other videos. Definitely getting that “worn TF out” vibe - don’t really mind, though, gives it an authentic feel.
Be careful with the "la totally awesome." I got that crap on my rubber rocker switches, and they turned into a gooy mess. Every time i would touch one, the rubber would stick to my finger.

Tip; most orange citrus hand cleaner will clean the Anti-seize right up.

I like the live action narrating… gives me a real sense of a guy that just showed up to work on his day off and is exhausted from the day before. 😂
Am I able to use the Mercury Quickleen in my Tohatsu? May be a dumb question but just want to make sure
I use that anti seize sometimes too. When ever Im done, even after applying it to one small item I end up looking like the silver surfer.
I thoroughly enjoyed that...always wonder what you recommend. KROIL!!! STILL THE BEST..😆

I use Sta-Lube Marine Grease. It’s fantastic for salt water. Even use it on trailer wheel bearings.
What would you recommend for filling holes (screw hole, pin hole, etc) in aluminum boats, both above or below the waterline?
I am also a fan of the Evinrude Triple Guard Grease. Have not found a grease as resistant to washout and mixing with water as that stuff. I have tried a lot of different greases too.
I have a yr 2000 /2 stroke / 150hp/ mercury. Could I use that yamalube internal engine cleaner to my mercury?

Yep I have used the non hp gear oil it works for sure
Great video as always.
If in need to use ring free, should an external gas tank be used or you just put it in the boat gas tank? Also, does it matter how much gas you mix it with?
You add right into the main gas tank. 1 ounce per 10 gallons of gas.

I’ve found Lucas marine grease and their Red N’Tacky to be really good. Surprised to not see any in the workshop or mentioned in the comments so far.
I e been using Lucas more and more. Triple guard is getting harder to find so I use it wisely. But I'm surprised by the lucas.
Can low power trim fluid in a stern drive set off the alarm?? Had a random alarm at random moments and then outdrive trim stopped working but pump runs. Please any help?!! (Both trim and alarm are problems)
Great content keep it coming want to see a 450 or a 600 service soon with 12 spark plugs may be Tuesday or two
Great video. But, how do you use YIEC?

Thanks that was very informative appreciate it good stuff thanks again
Shell aviation hydraulic fluid is half the price of sea star fluid and doesn't void the warranty ... I called them and got confirmation

I've heard the BRP gasket compound is the same as permatex or loctite aviation gasket sealant.

Can you use Yamaha ring free in an evinrude etec?
Great content, can go back and use this for reference.
This is the third time watching this video. What are your thoughts on fluid film for corrosion protection. When I lived in the salt belt (New Hampshire) it worked wonders in the winters protecting everything from the road salt.
Great video. I'd like to see how you use that power probe!
Spray 9 and a magic eraser is one of the best cleaner I have found to clean grease even on sea deck and seats
Spray 9 will strip wood finishes and some paints so watch where you apply it.
A lot of good stuff to use on the boats. I am sure we are gonna run out and get some stuff in the video cause it’s what Arron uses 😁
Can you use Yamaha products like ring free in mercury engines?
That was a great video. I’ll save this and I’m sure I’ll be back again.
Some greases breakdown plastic, Superlube is plastic safe! Great stuff for that.
When I was a mechanic at Boeing, the drill lube we used for carbon through titanium was off the hook. Can't find that stuff on any shelf!
Boelube.
@@Real.Alpheus yep Boelube a little goes a long way
Great info, I just went to EBay to get a load of the illegal stuff! Goodbye Carbon!!!
I've use motorcycle chain lube for a yamashield substitute , problem is that's it's almost too sticky

Some say the ATF will damage the seals in the hydraulic steering systems. Has anyone experienced that?
So the good stuff we can’t get so we have to hold up a Yamaha Dealer to get the good carbon cleaner LOL great videos thanks for the info

how about marvel mystery oil as a fuel additive ..that was recommended to me by engine mechanic
Where can I get a pimp straw hat like that?
I use tripple guard all the time
Missed the seafoam! Best shit I've found. Also, the Honda corrosion spray is awesome incase you ever want to try something new
I love marvel mystery oil as a 4 stroke crankcase cleaner and shock treatment or maintenance dose fuel system cleaner
Afternoon drinks? Lol
Ahhh the school of chemicals and greases...Do you have all the MSDs??
Just kidding... always enjoyable.
question: can you also put the evenrude/johnson triple guard grease on plastic parts? or will it damage it?
From my personal experience I've used it on plastic parts without issue. Maybe Aaron has a different experience?
Mercury Bellows adhesive is another great mention for gluing orings in hard places etc merc will stop making it i hear
That bellows adhesive is some awesome stuff!
I will save this video for future reference
Toilet bowl cleaner for rust stains on gel coat...
Klotz is best but very expensive
All that lube and not one tube of KY jelly 😜
Why do I live on this channel now!?!!?
Who's Talking in this Video. Arron sound Weird 😜😝😝
👌👌
Voice/mood sounds a little like you found out your dog died 🙂
Yea. I know what you mean. Unfortunately, he didn't have his good mic hooked up :(.
Definitely sounds different… like he was really tired. 🤷♂️
I’m guessing this is his raw feed and he typically goes back with a voice over during editing for his other videos.
Definitely getting that “worn TF out” vibe - don’t really mind, though, gives it an authentic feel.

Mumbles, and boring. Livin up a bit and it would be great to show how you apply what your talking about. Or maybe you have a video like that.
Be careful with the "la totally awesome." I got that crap on my rubber rocker switches, and they turned into a gooy mess. Every time i would touch one, the rubber would stick to my finger.
