Example career change cover letter shown in this video:
    Dear Recruiter,
Creating talent pathways into the V&A attracts me to the Learning & Development role. With the success of recent programmes including the Young People’s Collective and its Arts Night Dundee, I’m excited to further develop programmes for apprentices and interns. There is a parallel with my design of learning programmes for 16-18 year olds. During one six-week project, I encouraged learners to design solutions for the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals based in art and culture. I led face-to-face and online skills sessions from ideation to completion, teaching project management and presentation skills. I would enjoy bringing my experience building inclusive learning programmes to the V&A.
Interpersonal and consultative skills have been a key part of my teaching work. I enjoyed collaborative goal-setting with upwards of 23 learners over the last year; resulting in greater satisfaction and educational attainment. I consciously use interpersonal techniques including open questions to draw diverse views in 1-1 and group settings. Teaching online has made me increasingly attentive to rapport-building - whether through broader contextualisation of work, or increased time for informal interaction and questions. These interpersonal and communicative techniques have also proven effective when consulting with assessors, governors and other stakeholders.
Project Management skills were central to my success delivering upwards of 1,500 classes over 3 years. Resource management was one aspect. I planned and created learning materials ahead of time, ensuring they catered to a diverse range of learning needs across physical and electronic materials. I used colour-coded scheduling charts to keep-track of learners’ support needs over the course of an academic year, and set-aside time when I anticipated higher support-needs for learners. Further, I managed timetable clashes by adapting to asynchronous delivery coupled with in-person availability for tutorials.
I look forward to talking more about this opportunity at the V&A.
    Yours sincerely,
