Nichelle, what an intelligent, beautiful woman of strength! I celebrate everything about this actress... she became a pioneer and inspiration for all women!! I am so proud of her steadfast dedication in being one of the first Black women in educating the public regarding inequality and prejudices in the entertainment industry!! There is a lot more work to do ...but you helped open the door to shine light in the darkness !God Bless you Nichelle Nichols I pray for your health and well being !!God Bless all!!❤️( since there are people on here who misinterpret things... I marched in Martin Luther King's platform as a young girl in the middle 60' s for Civil Rights, I have stood up for the rights of others all my life, I am an older woman and a retired ER/ Trauma Nurse I have seen the worst and most heinous crimes committed against other human beings, no one deserves to be treated with disrespect, condemned, berated , condescended to because of Race, Religion, Ethnicity... Age,Sexual Orientation...compassion,kindness,respect goes a long way ☮️❤️
Nichelle Nicholas was great and still is.... Always loved Star Trek......I literally just finished the latest episode of Discovery. She did change the world.
Such a wonderful lady. I’ve admired her since I was a young teen (in the mid-1960s), while watching TOS as it first aired on TV. My parents and us kids, all loved that series and were so disappointed when it was cancelled (far too soon). FYI: I usually enjoy reading the comments BUT there are far too many that are SPAM or worse (those should be deleted by this channel‼️).
This is why I've always loved Star Trek more, it felt more realistic to what our future would be compared to star wars, like it's a no brainer now that race/gender/sexuality equality and diversity would be the thing but for the creators to know that back in the 40s? They even made a point to have a Japanese and Russian among the main crew due to the animosity at the time. Props to the creators of star trek for fighting for the cause
Star Trek is science fiction, and sci-fi has always been about big ideas and lessons that we can apply to our current world. Star Wars is fun, but it’s merely fantasy.
If it wasn't for Dr. Martin Luther king insisting michelle to stay after the First season of star trek ( michelle had an offer to star in a Broadway play) that I truly believe the show would have ended right then ,and there! She was that important to the show!
Star Trek has had many lovely and beautiful women throughout its history, but it has only ONE QUEEN! If you also want to say that she is also the Queen of ALL Science Fiction, you get no argument from me! Live forever Nichelle Nichols! 😍
I’m a lifelong fan of Star Wars when it comes to movies but as a black women Star Trek paved the way for us blacks to have a voice in the science fiction universe. ❤️🖤💚
When I first saw Lt. Uhura on Star Trek I got an immediate crush on her when I was a 10-year-old boy and I have never regretted it. And it happened again when I was 13. and found out her real name was Nicelle Nickles.
et recently claimed star trek discovery has the first black female captain ever. thats not true. 1986 star trek 4 scene with uss saratoga had a black female captain
Nobody tell the rainbow squad that their big gay buddy, The Norse God Of War himself, played a super straight black alien nuclear family man in Stargate for 10 whole seasons...
Nichelle has been put in a conservatorship by her abusive son, Kyle Johnson. She has been isolated from her friends. Her home sold against her wishes. She needs u. She's in the same arrangement as Britney Spears, lost all rights. #freeNichelle ☄️✨🌌☀️🪐💫

Nichelle Nichols beautiful and talented - enjoyed watching star-trek and seeing her as one of the crew back in the day.

Star Wars first take place in the future bud. Also isn’t even about events in our own galaxy.

Happy for you both!!! 😎
Beautiful and wonderful actress. A true lady and she is gracious and kind to her fans. If she was in England, she should have a Knighthood.
Wowww just all 3 of them boosted my Black Pride to new levels.
MS. NICHOLS....you are such a beautiful person THANK YOU.
Nichelle should've played Rosie Carver in "Live and Let Die". She was made to be a Bond Girl.....in addition to being LT Uhura.
When I first saw Lt. Uhura on Star Trek I got an immediate crush on her when I was a 10-year-old boy and I have never regretted it. And it happened again when I was 13. and found out her real name was Nicelle Nickles.

Hey I'm a big fan
RIP Nichelle Nichols. You broke barriers on and off television by playing non-menial Lt. Nyota Uhura
