I'm writing a novel rather than a screen play but this really helps. I can see how this cycle can happen over a chapter (or a few chapters maybe) to lead to the next. I think before I was only looking at the overall pattern of the story being one loop like this ( and it can and should be) but each segment should also have this building cycle as well.
