Personally I think the use of drawings/paintings rather than screenshots is good because it makes the game feel more like it's not about characters we've seen on TV or in film but rather about YOUR characters.
Just found this channel. Even ignoring the uniform, I took one look and thought, “Oh god... They certainly look like Trekkies.” Then I realized it’s been so many years since I’ve seen anyone like that. And it feels good to see. It feels like coming home. Thank god for this. Live long and prosper, you two.
Very interesting. I enjoyed the video and it explained a lot. I play D&D and am just getting into Call of Cthulhu and Numenera. I was at the NY Comic-Con today and saw this and Vampire the Masquerade books which sparked my curiosity. Also “Tales From The Loop” looks interesting as well. Being a huge Trekkie this seems awesome. Just don’t have anyone to play with. Thanks again for the video and explanations. Just found your channel and subscribed 😁.
"They couldn't use images from the show because of legal reasons" is a strange argument because it's literally using the Star Trek IP in its title and images. I feel using interpretive art makes more sense in an RPG where you create your own characters.
Why play this over Traveller v2 or gurps space 4e? Is it only because of the Star Trek world? I’m very interested in the exploration aspects but I want trade, colony building and sci-fi “dungeon crawls”, etc.
That's one way of looking at it. Another is that it's barely in the spirit of Star Trek. Yet another would be that the original TV show was chock full of action as well.

I totally agree with you.

I'm going to read this comment again from time to time when I feel depressed. Thank you for the kind words!

Just bought this game on the humble bundle set, I really like it so far.
The episode you were referring to at 8:13 was called "Genesis", Season 7 Episode 19!
Thank you!

Great points! I'll see if we can do future videos on what you suggested.
The FASA Starship combat simulator..I was a master at starship combat.
What would be best all-rounder, this or Starfinder?
Woo looking forward to play as a red shirt.
Nice review. Thanks.

Nice overview.
Thank you!
I find Modiphius 2d20 system complicated. More so than many other current rpg systems. I’m still trying to understand it.
Let me know your questions about it. I would be happy to ask them the next time we interview them.
does only the guy on left have a microphone and other doesn't, its drastically different volume levels.
Sorry about that, in our earlier content, we filmed it at a local access tv station and the people running it were relatively new.
Great video
Thank you
Love your Star Trek outfit !!! :)
The new star trek shows are like PURE action. (Although I don't like it...) Discoery and Picard. So its easier to imagine role playing
Thank you for commenting Derek!
