Such a damn shame. The Czar was inexperienced but wasn't an evil man. Bloody Sunday was the military's fault not his. If they could've reformed a little we would have better relations with a Czarist Russia. RIP Romanov family.

United States Of America I agree that these executions were not justified. But it is clear that Czar Nicholas felt he owned the "divine right of kings" to rule his subjects as an autocrat with sole authority over their very lives. Had he not been so intransigent on this and perhaps more willing to consider the idea of his subjects taking part in govt affairs he and the Royal family I believe would have been spared. Who knows? In a parallel universe maybe the Romanovs would be part of a constitutional monarchy similar to Britain's. Perhaps communism doesn't catch fire, Hitler stays a corporal and who knows how many lives are spared from that time to this.

Most are from "Assassin of the Tsar" which is on youtube in its entirety for free. If you are interested in really seeing and "tasting" the imagery of the last days of the Tsar and his family, I highly recommend it, despite having a rather "supernatural" twist of people becoming other people. The other clips are from "Nicholas and Alexandra" a high-budget early 1970's film based on the Robert K Massie research.

The West should have charged the Soviets with war crimes for the murder of the Romanovs. Under international law they were (at the very least) entitled to a trial. If only the Kolchaks had reached Ekaterinberg in time ... they might have been saved.

Most films depicting the family and their deaths due usually portray Alexei as being the last to die when in fact he wasn't. Film makers probably use this ploy for his death in order for us as the audience to hone in on more sympathy for his particular murder. Being that he was the heir, a sick boy and the youngest of his siblings. When reality the order in which the children died were as such: Olga, Tatiana, Alexei, Anastasia then finally Maria. Although, its safe to say that Alexei and Anastasia roughly died at around the same time, be it by different executioners. Alexei was killed with 3 bullets to the back head by Yakov Yurovsky (after Yurovsky broke up 3 or so men who were beating the boy) while Anastasia (similar to her sister Maria) was beaten, stabbed then finally shot through the head by Peter Ermakov. Such a vile act for these innocent children to suffer.
Most films tend to gloss over this specific detail and just show the family all being shot at once which is terribly misleading and false.

    • @jamiemohan2049
      @jamiemohan2049 7 років тому +4

+Saoirse Kavanagh yeah I hate it though it's almost as though the others are less important or something! Many are shocked when they learn it was Maria who actually died last, some even try to fight the actual historical accounts and say Alexei and Anastasia died last! It's simply not true Maria lasted so long she literally would have known in the end that everyone she loved had literally been brutally murdered! I'd love to see a movie or tv series who focuses on the girls as they are more like pretty props in films. Even though they made up the majority of the film. Imagine the Romanov dynasty started in Ipatiev house were the teenage Michael was crowned Tsar, his men swearing to protect him and his family from then on. Only to end with the screams of the teenage Maria in Ipatiev house, the descendants of the men sworn to protect either gone or taking part in the massacr ( even though most of the assassins were foreign I believe ) it's such a powerful story and it's all True!

    📚“Maria Romanov After 17 July 1918”
In a sense, the First World War was the battle of cousins. The financiers of the war decided to erase the last traces of the Russian Empire from history. They had already identified the most suitable employer to achieve their goals. Kaiser Wilhelm the second.
They knew the Kaiser's weakness for Tsarina Aleksandra Fyodorovna, who was the wife of the last Russian Tsar Nicholas the second.
It didn't take long for the Kaiser to find the right shooter for the job. He was Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, who was later known as Lenin.
Lenin's brother Aleksandr Ulyanov was executed for the assassination of Tsar Alexander III.
According to the agreements of the Kaiser and Lenin, the Tsar would be killed. The Tsar's family would be sent to the Kaiser. But Lenin did not obey the agreement, thinking that the Kaiser would betray him.
The execution, which took place on July 17, 1918, at 01:00, was concluded as neither the Kaiser nor Lenin had planned.
Maria and her brother Alexei were able to survive with the help of the young Prince, whom Maria had met at a prom in Romania.
This book is about the lives of Maria and Alexei after July 17, 1918.

@@MarlboroughBlenheim1 Nicholas brought them into the game. He was a bad father who exposed them to that risk. He should have just accepted the throne in 1894 then immediately instituted a democratic system. But no he wanted to rule Russia with an iron fist. Half of his children were legal adults too. Even Alexei was 14, not the petite kindergartner they cast him as in these reenactments.

Dupe Account why bayonet them? It’s a particularly brutal way to be killed. A bullet in the head would have been merciful. That’s my point which you haven’t addressed.

@@MarlboroughBlenheim1 Cutting their heads off would have been more merciful than shooting them in the head. Would you have been in favor of that?
You also haven't addressed my point that Nicholas II brought them into the game.
