40yrs of The Bunnymen...
Boy bands fade away...
Respect...
From one Welshman to another (I assume), this song is divinely written. The horses are the horses of the apocalypse. The new messiah will put things right once and for all, bring him on. Time to repent and prepare now. Dumnonia Watchman blog, if you're interested.
I can see that imagery.
only the best stay .

Singing for 38 smoking years. Amazing :)
What a singer one of the best band to come out of the 80's
I love this live version. His raspy stoic voice is brilliant
The best band !!
E&tB were formed in 1978.
@@moyajanko6642 yes, we know
I saw them @ the Fox Theater in Atlanta in 1987. It was a beautiful gothic venue. I remember Them playing a few songs then Ian fell I’ll with the flu. A few months later they returned and played a full show. Just perfect.
One of the most beautiful songs that was made in the world!
Exciting! I have the entire collection on cassette and I always listen to it. I'm crying with so much emotion! Memories that never come back! Luv u, Ian!
1984/5. Paisley Tech. 2nd year Mech Eng Degree Course. Thanks to John and Norman MacDonald for introducing me to Echo and The Bunnymen. Great memories. Until we meet again. Derek x
it took me a long time to watch this video, partly because, firstly:, i adored this band in my own youth, which brings me nicely along to the next/darker part. To watch this video was, to me, confronting what i had become
Absolute icons awesome
MSP have been putting in live covers of it into their sets since gigs have returned post lockdown. Its certainly a heartfelt cover as you always get from them 😍
😞I missed this brilliant man performing
The best band from Liverpool ever!
Will Sergeant and his lovely guitar!
Hardly the Will sound of old.
Arguably the best aspect of this perfunctory performance. The guitar is a Charvel Surfcaster, btw ; )
A very underrated guitarist is Mr Sergeant.
WOW. For me they was the best band in the world. So Pure . very rare they was a one off .
One of my fave song from E&B
Saw them live this year in an Ohio cornfield freaking amazing time and they were awesome!!!
we all have the original recordings. This is about change and getting older. Maturity and change. Maybe younger fans won't get that
Love these guys massively. So many of innovative sounds & lyrics. Thanks & Merci pour eux♡♧♡
He sounds great!!!
Maybe not 100% original but it's still 3very emotional song & after all the years Echo still sounds 1st class! & long may he !
Uma das maiores bandas de todos os tempos.
A banda , sua qualidade , performance é simplesmente incrível !
Voltei 35 anos.....lembrando dessa banda na minha adolescência .....showwwww
Banda maravilhosa de rock and roll...
this somehow works, and sounds (in places) as eternal as ever
Great vocals and band!
Ian is one of the greatest, but when you are born with a voice like that, it should be illegal to smoke that many cigs for that many years.
lol
Frank Sinatra did the same damn thing. Buried with his Zippo and a pack of 🐫 s
fcol, voice don't stay the same, smoking has nothing to do with it. How many singers smoked like chimney!?
it's a shame really - had to stop listening after a few seconds - some singers are able to carry on regardless - check out Robert Plant or Roger Daltry lately - still got it
@@janebraun4482 and all those who smoke like chimneys ruin their voices. Smoking too much ruins the voice, EVERYONE knows that.
Top performance, top song, top band.
Great stuff.
Uma das melhores canções do Echo...
Mac's voice really doesn't sound as bad as people are making out. The version they know is really lush and polished and this is rockin version and apart from a bit of roughness at the beginning his voice sounds fine - crooner par excellence!
If this is the sound of the guy who has ruined his voice then more singers from the 80s need to ruin their voices!
People were saying the same thing in 2001 for their Live in Liverpool album. Compared to then his voice hasn't changed all that much. Maybe I'm in the minority but I really love their sound in that album and almost always have it on my playlist. :)
Let's be honest here, Robert Smith has kept his voice in a far better shape than Ian.
¡No güey, se oye bien chingón!
😁
He has a great voice and incredible microphone craft, he was off on this one, not quite in sync all the way. He finds it sometimes still.
Best live singer I've ever seen/heard
I've watched it a few times now, and I have to say, it's fucking brilliant!
ive aged right along with them,,,love the new album..
Cada día cantan mejor!!! Que lindo!!!!
Pretty Damn Good No Matter What Decade!
Nothing lasts forever, although I have nothing to say other than I still respect all the band members!
Ha ha ha !!! What are you saying?
One of my fav bands and songs just incredible ad beautiful.Ian's voice gone like but still
just saw them in SLC. effing brilliant!
I love the bunnymen, probably my favourite band of all time and this is fine as a live performance considering how long the band have been going. What I don’t get is the decision to re record the classics. Not one of the new versions comes close to the originals for me, largely due to the vocals .
Totally agree. The new versions aren't good. Ian can't sing too well anymore, as painful as it is to say. I know a lot of bands are re-recording because they own the rights to these recordings, having been screwed out of the profits by the record labels the first time 'round. Not sure of Echo's and Korova's arrangement, though.
Heaven up Here is my favourite album as well. It’s what sets them so far above their peers.
@@Postpunk-cx1ph agreed... amazing, every single track on the album is fucking brilliant... love the B-men
Disagree. They rerecorded a bunch of the classics on "Avalanche" in 2000, and that EP kicks ass.
Much different environment, though, than a TV talk show.
Not sure how that’s relevant, being 20 years ago? Macs voice was much stronger 20 years ago than now.
I still haven't got over the death of Pete de Freitas, I didn't know him obviously, but I felt the group were very much a four legged table!
they needed each other!!
Tenho IMENSO ORGULHO de ter presenciado a década de 80!!! A MELHOR de todos os tempos!!!! Quanto mais velho melhor!! Assim como o vinho...

Bring on Echo and the Bunnymen.
Classic Gold📀📀📀📀📀A true form of pure music, the best👌perfect👍👍👍👍👍
I love them and still going to see them live next month, but jesus Ian, stop smoking please. This felt painful.
I like the smoking. Do what you have to do. Don't conform.
Man, I didn't even notice. I mean compared to Bob Dylan or Tom Waits...
Hey queefer could you not kneecap my wife anymore please
@@adrianamunoz6146 Smoking and drinking took away Liam Gallagher's perfect rock n' roll voice. Oh well that's rock n roll I guess.
@@adrianamunoz6146 There are way healthier ways to not conform that leave you sounding amazing three decades later. Smoking is not one of those, not to mention the laundry list of other damage it does to your health and those around you.

No way home
Bringing on the dancing horses
Headless and all alone
Shiver and say the words
Of every lie you've heard
First I'm gonna make it

Till it falls apart
Hating all the faking
And shaking while I'm breaking
Your brittle heart

Just love the Bunnymen

The one guitarist is playing a 12 string. Respect.

😂😂your right enough but my history teacher hit me with a belt not a guitar.👍👍
What a bass guitar
Kids, don't smoke. Compare this to the velvet tones of the original demo and studio cut.
Continuo amando o som dos Bunnymen... ok, o tempo passou, envelhecemos, mas a música tem uma atemporalidade eterna... long live to rock and rolo!!
It's pretty well documented that Ian has a drinking problem if you watch a recent interview someone did over a few days with him. Ian, please get into recovery. You're not going anywhere no one else has gone on the road you're on.
Que Sonzaço... Muito dahora essa versão!
Eternos!!!
Awesome .
All things considered Ian still sings this pretty well.
Very good !!!!
Good times, rock forever
I find it funny to see comments about Ian's voice here. I really like his hoarse voice and I don’t see any problem because it doesn’t sound anymore like the voice he had when he was younger. Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Keith Richards and John Lee Hooker just to name a few are artists who have a great hoarse voice and who I admire a lot. Ian McCulloch is perfecting his voice, one day it will sound just like Tom Waits's, thank God.

Cool Music!

Sorry I don't know who Holland is but just saw this can't believe it it's perfect. Saw them at Showbox in Seattle in '98 or something they just tore that place down for some God knows reason. All my future ex wives were there but I was so entranced with the sound and scene I couldn't speak to anyone that night. My city died in 2020 months after that venue died, no subtle coincidence. Thanks for this it's on loop here LOUD in foothills of the PNW
Essa música foi meu tema em minha formatura.
My favorite
Essa faz parte do meu playlist no celular.
Good stuff!
Have to say I feel for Mac, something went wrong somewhere. Ian, imho, was one of the three best and most important male singers of the 'post-punk' period, the other two being Billy MacKenzie and Ian Curtis - all three being matchless, phenomenal singers. Mac's singing style and ability then was like nothing before or since - equally true of the other two singers also, but those who say, many here, that he is still as good are either stuck in sentiment or simply don't know what they're talking about. Nonetheless I live in hope that we may yet still see more from him and Will that matches the quality and power of their first (ahem, crucial) three albums.
THE BUNNYMEN FOREVER
One of the most underrated groups of the 1980's. However Ian's voice shows the deterioration after years of smoking. Too bad. Their song "nothing last forever" has very deep lyrics. "I want more than I can give" "I want it now, don't tell me that my ship is coming in."
Verdade
R&R forever!
I'm still waiting for you guys to get to Denver, the end of May 2024,cant take much more, come on Ian!!
On my bucket list. come to Chicago please

will sergeant magnificent guitar player so inventive.
See you in Valencia 2023!
Great Styling Ian Mcculloch Great Band
Loved this band as a youth. Sad for me to listen to the steep decline of Ian's voice. It's not just age. He'd been given an exceptional gift and damaged it with smoke and drink.
and an ego that won’t say “stop”
“Never Stop”! Lol
😍
BBC PLEASE UPLOAD THE **STUNNING** LIVE VERSION OF THE KILLING MOON FROM THIS SHOW
PLEASE 😍😍😍😍
Will Sergeant ☆
It´s hard for me to say this (because I´m a big fan of Echo), but the problem with this version it´s not that it´s different from the original, the main damage on it is the bad vocal performance of Ian McCulloch.
Don't know why they don''t just drop the key.
the whole harmony thing they used to do is impossible to do, but come on, I prefer the originals playing and singing that any pop act taking on a great track and ruining it
I find the sound on Jools is always a bit ropey and you don't get the same set up you would get from them live more thin/flat sounding as if playing an empty room. I always thought U2 decided to go down the original BTDH sound (that EATB) had when they hit Achtung Baby and after years.
What was truly embarrassing was the last time they played this in Toronto, Mac didn't even try to hit the high notes; instead he held the mic out to the audience and only about two people knew any the words! It was more like Bring on the Sound of Silence
@@gillianwake6831 But you can do better, never having lived their life.? Stop fucking whining, and enjoy the fact they are still playing.
OMG. I hate getting old.
