I'm italian. I don't know why but the all Italians love Scotland and scottish people. Forza Italia and go Scotland
It's true! ❤ Scotland
forse a causa di Barga e del vicino rapporto tra scozzesi e italiani che hanno migrato in tutti e due i paesi
I loved how all the Scot’s stayed after the match too.
Well done Italy absolutely brilliant you tore into them from the start Brillant from wales 🏴 🇮🇪 😀😀👏👏👏👏👏
Firstly, massive respect to Italian rugby. They played some stella stuff at times.
Saying that, for Scotland now, an average of 24-25 points shipped to the opposition this tournament. They've clearly identified massive space behind the defensive line in our 22. Saying thay, what has happened to the defence, absolutely shocking to ship that many points.
Once again , we get built up after a promising start to campaign to be brought back down with a bump …. MASSIVE PROPS to Italy , you could almost sense the desire and hunger through the screen … They are improving more with every new tournament they enter .. Really played well !
From a Scotsman. Well done to the Italians. They put in such an effort. Fought to the very end. Til next year 🏴
First what a superb game of rugby, both teams were brilliant. The very best entertainment, this is how rugby should be played. As a Scotland supporter, I believe this is the best Scotland have played this 6 nations. The quality of their 4 tries. Italy were superb too, 3 tries, but won due to Scotland's penalty count. Italy exploited the space behind Scotland's three quarters brilliantly with those chips kicks. Scotland's up and unders weren't good enough. So much good to talk about. It's a game I would like to watch in full again to try and see where the differences were.
Ireland in Ireland next week is probably impossible, but I do believe this Scottish team will not be taken lightly by any team in world rugby. Well done Italy and Scotland, thank you for a brilliantly entertaining afternoon's game.
From an italian supporter (and rugby player): Scotland played a brave match and was unlucky on the disallowed try (probably Vintcent wouldn't have reached Scotland's scrum half). Moreover Scotland deserved to win vs France this year
@@adgcomo1946 from one old ex rugby player, to another, what a great game rugby is. I thought Scotland played very well but what a superb game Italy played. I am so pleased to see Italy becoming a real force, it is so good for the 6 Nations.
Italy didn't steal that one.
Italy, well done and your hunger to win was brilliant to watch. Congrats on a great performance.
Scotland, how disappointing again!!!!! Our lack of consistency and failing to play for 80 minutes is becoming really tiring. As fans we spend our hard earned money to follow you and that’s the performance we get in return. GT has been a great legend of Scotland but he is not taking the team to the next level and we need someone who can.
SRU, buck up your ideas and invest more into our youth.
I don't agree. That was a brilliant game of rugby, Scotland scored 4 excellent tries and were threatening in all aspects of play. Italy won through Scotland's penalties not tries. Scotland have raised their game and have taken another step with the mature Russell as Captain.
Great rugby match , respect from Italy!
That has got to be the worst performance by Scotland in the reign of GT. Scotland lacked any performance, and I publicly apologise to the England fans who I may have upset with my comments after the Calcutta Cup victory. How dare I dream of Scotland writing their own script and achieving any success after today's debacle. The U20 team fared even worse, which showed my strength in depth comment to be total "jobie in a poke" statement.
Oh, and England have just beaten Ireland, so that makes it WORSE. What could have been, never is.
WELL DONE ITALY - you totally deserved it today - Italy absolutely bossed them, showed passion, intent and desire. DVdM was scared of Cappuozo, Brex was as impregnible as the Colosseum, and the whole Italian team just believed from the whistle that they were going to satisfy the fans' desire for a home win.
100%, coulda, woulda, shoulda. Such is life being a Scottish rugby fan.
Goodness me, I don't believe we were watching the same game. It is so easy to make comments like this 4 tries to 3. Scotland were mighty impressive too. Italy were superb, just hanging on in that final play full credit to Italy, but Scotland were excellent. If you are only results orientated, I get it.
@JamesRattray The result is based on points scored, not where a player positions themselves or how they line up at a line-out. Impressive and excellent are words that should only be reserved for the Italians after yesterday's game, because they were. Scotland weren't either in how they went about managing the game today, and that reflected in how badly they performed as a team. They were out-scrapped, and they never controlled it. That poor performance reflected the score. Do you get a promotion at work because you keep your desk tidy? No.
I love rugby W Scotland W Italy
One step forward, two steps back.
There was a long period when Price's box kicks only continued to surrender hard-won possession. The failure to recognise this tactic wasn't going to work was very costly. At the end, when there was no alternative, Scotland kept the ball in hand and were a constant threat. It was a no-brainer and the adherance to failing tactics was naive. Full credit to Italy for playing to their strengths. They had been building towards a win since the start of the 6N!
Coach has to be held accountable for tactics surely. Same Coach who has lead us thru 2 shambolic RWC failures but he remains in situ for some reason 🤔
Horne (played for 59 minutes) and Price (subbed on for the final quarter) both kicked away posession.
Always on the cards. We just flatter to deceive. Beating England seems to be Townsends only goal. Next week could be really bad for us.
What a poor comment, it was a brilliant game, Scotland played really well, so did Italy.
So they put us out of the turnament?
Siiiiii
next 3 to 5 years italy 6 nations champions? watchout for scalabrin next year awesome young player ????
It's a young team and their fastly becoming world class,I thought in this time line, ten tops but should be in this time frame
@@Rob-oh2px there so exciting to watch ? the desire passion scaladrin capuozzo menoncello theyre getting great players allover the pitch? and there lasting the whole 80 minutes now !!!! next year top 3 6 nations ? englaand watch out 😃😃😃
@@rockybalboap7763glad your confidence up yes you will over time beat England, but the game needs more big teams to survive so I'm pragmatic about it
That was like watching Scotland in 2010. Dreadful.
Italy played them off the park. Embarrassing.
What game were you watching? 4 tries to 3 both teams were excellent this afternoon
hardly mate
Angus Gardner needs to look up deliberate knock on in the laws
1) against SA in the World Cup (Kolbe)
2) 74:30 vs Italy today - it was a penalty try and a yellow
Yes, we made a lot of mistakes, but he refused to look at it, and then when he did, he still denied the penalty try. What is going on???????????
Penalty try? Don't make me laugh 😂
Not even a yellow
The first Scottish try was knock on
What's going on? Study the rugby rules....here what's going on.
It did surprise me that knock on was just a penalty. If I was a player, it tells me it is OK to knock on to prevent a try scoring opportunities. I was very surprised there was no yellow card. Opposition teams holding tacklers in to rucks for penalties needs to be outlawed. Italy and Ireland do this as a means of cheating in my opinion, as they are rewarded by penalties. In my day rugby never rewarded cheating.
@@solinvictus1234 I might believe you have a point if you didn't say rules. They are laws. And in the laws a deliberate knock on is a yellow card. If the ref feels a try *could* have been scored then it is a penalty try. Now in this instance the referee does neither. He just gives a penalty, as if it wasn't deliberate, but he agreed with his officials it was deliberate, and then judged that there was a chance it could not have been scored rather than the standard practice of asking if it could have been scored.
Why is this team never able to build on any fucking momentum!! Zero consistency ever!!
Look at the end of the France game and there's your answer
Well played Italy 😂🏴
Italy don't want another wooden spoon😅
They say that death and taxes are two of life's certainties but there is a third. When it really really matters Scotland's teams never fail to disappoint which is why as a 75yo I have long since stopped watching Scotland play live as it's just too painful. Indeed I could have easily written this peice on Saturday given as it was so predictable . I dare say some in Scottish Rugby will view this year with some satisfaction having beaten poor English and Welsh sides and to retain the Calcutta cup which it seems to indicate the level of our aspiration from a subserviant mentality. Unlike the Irish our pathetic national anthem merely underpins the lack of national ambition as long as we beat the English that is considered the pinnacle of our success. The fact our
Classic Townsend, limp through against a Wales team in transition, fail to put away the worst France team in decades and squeeze past a very poor England team, then go awol against Italy. God knows what Ireland will do to us. We have not evolved or improved since 2020 and given how poor our youth development has been this will only get worse.
Couple all this with the fact we are a laughing stock on the world stage with our consistent selection policy of recruiting players with very little tangible attachment to Scotland other than some loose world rugby eligibility criteria.
A Scotland loss always brings out the skim supporters who only look for headlines. A brilliant afternoon's rugby by two excellent teams, both sets of players were brilliant, thank you Italy and Scotland for a superb afternoon's rugby.
@@JamesRattray I’ve been a supporter for 29 years at Murrayfield. Credit to Italy who deserved the win, but we are not consistently playing to our potential at the moment and there has been little progress in recent years.
If we don’t address shortcomings both in the test team right now as well as the pathways the next decade could take us back to the despair of the 2000s.
@@dougthedynamo Similarly I have supported Scotland for 50 years, for me first and foremost that was a brilliant game of rugby, by two superb teams. Exactly how rugby should be played. Yes Scotland lost, at last with mature Finn Russell we are seeing another phase of Scotland's development. We have to be realistic Scotland has a small player and supporter base, with just 2 professional teams. I remember in the professional era when top teams playing Scotland put out their second string players and still won. I don't believe any team in world rugby will do that to this team and set up. Thank you for the discussion, it's good we have different views.
Townsend must go imho
@@cnoc500 I don't agree. He is the only coach who was has been able to win anything at rugby for Scotland during the professional era. That was with Glasgow Warriors, Rennie was able to the following year with the Townsend Team, after that it was down hill for Warriors. At club level we have witnessed a succession of managers failing to deliver. I don't believe that would be any different at national level.
25 mins decent rugby and the rest just pish. How many chips behind do we want to let in for tries ?
Scotland played well.
Italy played better
Shoulda been a try schoeman didn’t do a thing
Where do these Schoeman detractors come from? I don't understand it. Scotland are very lucky to have Schoeman playing in Edinburgh and for Scotland. He is a superb professional.
@@JamesRattray mate I meant the disallowed try
No
Not always our fault
So so inconsistent Scotland, however there is a bigger picture than simply crumbling in Rome.
7 of this starting XV not products of Scottish rugby pathway and Under 20's who are the annual whipping boys in the junior event. Playing numbers in Scotland plunging and a Super-6 semi-pro league that does what exactly ?
What are you overpaid suits at the SRU going to do about it ?
Well done Italy but Schiemann did nothing. Scammed again
Solo nel football americano era regolare quello che ha fatto
Congrats italia but we have been scammed
Highlights.bad term really
