Great review, as ever. I bought one here in Thailand and have 45 years biking experience behind me. It sure has all the power that is needed (if anyone is interested I give the 660 some berries on my channel). I totally agree with you, it is a great all rounder. I have ridden and owned, in this middleweight segment, a CB650 and MT07, the 660 is now the class leader, no doubt. The only downside is the lack of luggage tie down points...but hey! I have an upcoming video in Bangkok traffic to show it's commuting ability, the soft throttle comes into it's own in this scenario. I will also be seeing how it performs on track---the weather here allows 365 riding days!!! I say again well done video
Had my Trident for 5 weeks / 1100 miles and loving it. Gears were a bit clunky to start with, but after a few hundred miles have become super smooth. A great all rounder.
I found the shift lever position too close to footpeg and a bit tucked in but got used to it quickly. found the gears smooth as butter on test ride on bike w/12mi. ?.
Great review and I've pulled the trigger on one myself and getting it within the next 10 days. I have also ordered some extra's - Quick shifter (essential) Bluetooth upgrade and a few crash protectors and sliders. Not decided on the back end yet (tail tidy or not). In the end the choice was down to one of three, MT07, CB650R and the Trident; Suzuki and Kawasaki were never in the mix. I'll be keeping this bike for many years and so I'm looking forward to adding many more upgrades. So all good for now.
Mine is brill, the competition in mind was the XSR700 and street twin not the mt07 and z650 like most reviews say as I wanted a modern retro not a new style bike, good review.
I’ve been riding for a fairly long time but never bothered advancing through my license stages. Finally got caught out last year so had to get a lams approved bike to do my licenses on. I went from a 2018 Triumph bobber to the 2021 Trident and expected a bit of dissatisfaction but I’ve been quite surprised. Really enjoy the bike can ride it much further than the bobber. Great bike I’m in New Zealand I think lams is similar to your a2 spec, lams trident is a restricted one.
Brilliant. Covered this really well. Funny as I’m down to choosing this and the street twin as my first bike. Your buddy had the sweet blue 2021 street twin. Also a beauty.
1.6'' higher seat than the Street Twin. At 6' that might matter. I think I prefer its looks, too. Bigger fuel tank. Lighter: weighed by Bike World, full of fuel at 190 kg, so Triumph weren't lying. I prefer the dash to the ST. It can't pull from low down as well as the ST, though. But three cylinders will give it tractability. As I said on the other review, I'll have to ride them both. I'll know then.
The trident 660 is the only bike i ram into limiter on. It is ridiculously fast feeling full throttle through to 4th gear. I think for me the price to what you get is unbeatable, i got mine for 7,000usd bran new. It’s a fun bike to commute on and surprisingly very fun on twisty roads, especially medium speed sweepers. The ride is too firm for bumpy roads but if the road is smooth it’s nearly perfect. Iwish it had more of a growl than scream but can’t complain at price point
The Trident 660 is a very tempting bike to buy, I live in Europe, so CF MOTO is a very popular make of bike with the 700 CLX sport coming out which is also the same price as the Trident. The warranty on both makes is also very good with CF MOTO offering a 5 year warranty and triumph offering a 4 year warranty.
Yes the more reviews on a bike especially unbiased reviews the better helps us consumers make a informative decision.I'm interested in lighter middle weight bike & Trident is high on my list & been watching a ton of reviews & on 🐅 Tiger 660 too. The Trident has one throttle body instead of 3 which helps with responsiveness.
Let us know what you think of the Triumph Trident 660! Would you buy one? Can you think of better middleweight alternative? LET US KNOW!
I’m currently waiting for mine to arrive in Australia. I’ve been trying to search to the shipping dates but haven’t been successful as of yet.
Great review, as ever.

I know this isn’t a new vid but I thought this was a really good review and the trident looks great !

Both great bikes! Will be a tough choice to make
Hey!! Exactly my two choices for my second bike. I’m 99% sure I’m going with the trident though. Just seems so easy breezy and fun to ride!
@@SteveSweetness34 should be fun. Ended up going with 2022 t100. Shes a beauty
@@tlong9812 Great choice. Beautiful bike 👍🏼

Nice video but feel you’re a little late to party, which is OK if you have a new slant but you haven’t. This bike has been reviewed to death.
Unfortunately we get the bikes as soon as we can. Can't always be the early bird.
Bike opinions and reviews are very personal…the more the merrier!

Who the hell is styling these bikes ?.....Rear end looks like its fallen off.....looks terrible ....as do majority bikes these days in my opinion.
Get a Evotech tail tidy then
