Great video although it would have been helpful for each model in your range to be explained. Eg what is different between the Koda, Silverado, Rocket, Koda, SL8, Volt etc..
Check this video - there's a table at 0: 15 with all the models they have, based on available thickness and width... So easy to understand!!! ua-cam.com/video/w5TIbGstXRQ/v-deo.html
The 2019 Volt is very comfortable. I have ridden on many WTB saddles in my 3 decades of mountain biking and don’t remember any saddle feeling this comfortable for mountain biking, whether over all day rides, or the short weekly spin through the hills.
Went on my first ride with the Volt today (about 8mi/12km). I just couldn't get used to it. It feels like a high quality saddle, but I found it uncomfortable for my groin as a man. I think the raised "whale tail" pushes me forward and increases pressure in that area. I'm an aggressive rider and ride trail/enduro on a 2018 Giant Trance. I believe the Silverado may be a better fit for me since it has a flatter profile. Will have to return my Volt and continue testing saddles until I find the right one.
WTB saddles are Best in the business . Most comfortable. Tried everything and the WTB always comes on top. I am 184 cm hight and use narrow 13.5 cm wide and 28 cm long approx. Loves that the front tip is very very narrow as well. The padding is slim yet sufficient and can be felt. Zerro numb after houres and houres of XC riding. Wish WTB would also make a road bike / racing road bike dedicated line of saddles since their mountain bike saddles are the best !!!
My very first WTB experience was with a WTB Bronco 26-in MTB tyre. It was 'very highly recommended' by a local bikeshop some years ago; I used it, and adored the tyre ever since. It fitted my tyre demands very perfectly! I'm scouting saddle for a proposed MTB build, and WTB saddles will be on my top-tier list. Have you had your coffee already? Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines!
@@WTBtvI'm lost with this. I ride a hybrid with cross over gravel tyres (Specialized Pathfinders), so mainly London streets but some light cross country at the weekend. I do a 15 minute tarmac commute during the week, but go on longer loops at the weekend (maybe up to 4 hours + a day). I believe my sit bone is 125mm, and I've been recommended 145mm to 150mm saddle width. I don't do competitive riding, although weight reduction would be a bonus. Are you able to offer any recommendations from the WTB range please?
@@SilverShamrock71 Hey there. If you're regularly spending up to 4 hours+ in the saddle then I'd recommend going for something with our DNA padding. It's lightweight and hold its form well over long periods, whereas cheaper padding types would start to sag a little more. You can find DNA padding in Titanium or Carbon railed saddles. As far as shape and size go, the Volt, Silverado or Koda could be a good place to start looking. At 125mm you're near the upper end of medium, so your best bet would be to try a medium and a wide to see which feels better. We do make a test ride models which should be available through your local dealer. We've recently found a new home in the UK at Saddleback, so they may be able to help you find a dealer with test ride saddles available soon. hope this help!
@@WTBtv yes great info thanks, I was thinking Volt (as my riding posture on the hybrid is fairly upright) in a wide, titanium is just within budget at a pinch. So the DNA padding isn't on the CroMo version then?
Oh bro we have the same stock giant saddle. Im here also checking new saddle because it hurts my butt on this giant connect neutral. Not even an hour riding and discomfort on seatbone and numbness. Im eyeing for the silverado.
Your saddles are great, but it appears they all have pores now? I recently had to replace one as it was soaking up rain through the night and was like a wet sponge in the morning. Now I'm taking extra special care of my old pore-less WTB seats.
Helpful video. But I still did not find what I was looking for. For people looking for slim / thin profile saddles, one detail missing is the rail to saddle top measurement. Perhaps this is something you can add to every saddle model specification.
Hi, which one will be good for folding bike? I used own a volt on my mtb and really love it. Just wondering if it is still the model to go to for more upright posture.
Do you guys repair saddles, I got my FUJI NEVADA ONE.1 equipped with a WTB VOLT 142 (yellow lettering), I fell recently and it busted on the right front underside. Would you guys repair this saddle?
I had a saddle fit on the wtb website and it recommended the SL8, Silverado and Volt. Medium is my size approx 120mm seat bone width. Now Im stock which of the 3 I am going to buy. Im using a full sus XC mtb and usual long rides and sometimes trail ride. Any advise?
I got three WTB Rocket saddles that I use (cirka 2018 models), and they all share the same quirk. They creak. Did you perhaps address this issue, as the creak gets mentioned almost whenever WTB saddles are discussed? Other than that I just ordered a new Volt saddle, hoping it will be a little bit more comfortable that the Rocket on longer rides. I did use one of the Rocket saddles during last summers bike tour, averaging about 85 km daily, and it worked fine if not perfect. Will be very interesting getting my hands on the new Volt, and compare.
@@overkillonslash Tried it last weekend for perhaps 70 km. Bottom line: No go for me. Dealer only had Wide in stock, and it is exactly that; too wide for me. But that is not the main problem. The real drawback is that WTB has changed the cover lining, and the saddle is now way too slippery. I had to correct my seat position continuously. My Rocket saddles (2018 models, cirka) does not behave like this at all. Huge disappointment. But no creaking so far. That is at least one good thing. WTB; if you listen. Please revert to the second to last cover material. That was way more grippy and just plain better compared to this new slip n slide stuff. Also make the Volt with the thick padding from Rocket, and make the cut out slightly longer. I would buy 2, at least. And oh - make then non-creaky. Gonna go for a 2 night bike packing trip soon. Saddle will be one of my old Rockets, because the Volt did not cut it. :(
go for the Volt ! regardless of price ;-) for me even the cheapest steel-rail-version is an exellent choice for my Trek hardtail ! will buy another one for my fitness bike ....in the last 20 years i used an SST X

I got the narrow Silverado in steel rails. I have it mated with a PNW Pine dropper post. Best upgrade ever.
