- Getting ice cream from a ice cream Uncle or Auntie cart is one of the must do things when in Singapore.
Its cheap and delicious and also very refreshing in hot weather such as Singapore
Many can be found in touristy parts of Singapore. They move around by a motorcycle or some a bicycle. The ice cream is kept cold just by dry ice
In this video we tried Uncle Chieng ice cream cart. Its located along the stretch of Orchard road just outside Takashimaya. He has lots of flavors of ice cream and the best thing his cart still serve the traditional attap chee ice cream! Singaporeans hunting for attap chee ice cream look no further! Here's one located conveniently in town :)

I lived in Singapore for 17 and a half year this is special in the afternoon and holiday delight and corn ice cream in wafer or bread is great

$1.20 is really cheap. I tot it would inflate to $2 by now. I had this like 10 years ago in SG when i was a kid.. hope to taste it again one day
It was $1,some increase to $1.10,some to $1.20.If you buy those cone with random flavours e.g mango,coconut,choc and etc,some could cost $2.20 for a big cone with a couple scoops of ice cream
7 months later is still 1.20

They used natural food colouring to dye the bread to make it colourful. In the past, the bread had more than just 2 colours. It was loved by everyone but it was unhealthy that’s why they removed almost every colour and used natural ones instead. The green part is made of Pandan while the pink one is idk. I forgot
These are the best tasting desserts for me! Grew up buying these after school when the ice cream uncle waited outside for school kids to patronize his mobile store 😃 nostalgia 101 😢 now i am in new york missing this alot 😭 my fav was and is always the raspberry swirl / raspberry ripple with the wafers and the durian ice cream with the wafers 😁

Akiira sorry don’t understand what you said. I have bought icecream from these people on Orchard Road couple of times . Yes the ice cream is cheap and taste is decent but the sellers are so rude . Ones the seller even refused to agree that I have already paid him. Singapore people are very good in general but the Chinese people of Singapore are not well behaved unless you are an European or American which is outright racism .

Never had it exactly like this but my mom used to make ice cream sandwiches using sweet bread from Asian bakeries and sometimes Wonderbread. I liked my bread slightly toasted. The bread is soft and chewy on the inside and a little crunchy on the outside. Of course, we used two slices of bread instead of one.

Waaahhhhh uncle is still in orchard!! I used to buy ice cream from them whenever we’re in SG. It has been over 5 years that we haven’t visited SG. My favorite flavor is corn in wafer ❤️
I love how the ice cream in the flat packs is handled. It is all so precise so as to keep the shape and not let it melt too much.

So, Mr Dancing Bacons... you have a global appeal. Some of this stuff you feature is extremely foreign to your viewers. Like the fact that it appears to be actual bread being wrapped around ice cream or something else that looks like piece of cheese or crackers. You should explain what it is. Also the flavors. Many viewers see green and think mint but not there... it can be green tea or matcha. And brown doesn’t mean chocolate. Tell us more!!!!
Yeah, I'd like to know myself. That can not be sandwich bread. Who puts ice cream on bread unless it was made for that purpose? Wtf?
Unfortunately,their days are numbered.The Singapore government won’t be giving out anymore licenses for anyone to operate this ice cream business in this way. So once these uncles retire,it will be the end of this.
That’s too bad. It’s one of the things I look forward to eat whenever I go to SG 😞
i remember putting ice cream in bread when I was a kid :) was just an easy way to make an ice cream sandwich with food I already had. A lot of asian breads are typically a type of sweet milk bread so pairing it with ice cream works.

The ice cream (scooped ones) are homemade taste. Taste very fresh and authentic. Very rare these days

God I LOVEEEEE his ice cream. My childhood memories T T like they used to come by under the blocks at specific timings in the morning and when I hear the ringing bell, i used to rush downstairs. We got something similar here in Indonesia, but we use our traditional "es tung-tung" (coconut milk-based ice cream) instead.
Remember getting a raspberry one of these when I first visited Singapore a few years back, simple treat but extraordinarily satisfying😭😭

Those that aren't on social media are usually low income. As ppl become more affluent, they get b&j type n have them delivered. So sometimes they don't make much. Plus i think there's some sort of regulations they cant park outside schools anymore.
