I came here looking to see what pens to use in my new Passport for my upcoming Italy trip with my Mom! 😍 My husband and I went to Iceland for 4 days a few years ago over New Year’s Eve to see Sigur Ros play in their home country. It was a dream of his to see them play in Iceland (& at the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik at that!) and a bucket list item for me to see the Northern Lights! I also loved all the murals scattered throughout the capital. Oh and the fact that fireworks are illegal except for New Year’s Eve and Day. They use the money from sales of fireworks to fund the country’s rescue teams & people go nuts! It was a magical trip! Can’t wait to go back…maybe in Spring with our kids next time!

We (DH and my two young adult kids) are going to Iceland in July and I can't wait! I have a Wanderlust passport and I got one for my daughter. I am so looking forward to visiting many of the places you have in your journal. I'm adding Nailed It to our restaurant list for sure and we are going to Sky Lagoon and the new Forest Lagoon near Akureyri. I hope I can journal our trip half as cool as you have done yours. I love my WL passport.
Yes! Nailed it is like a little truck stand, less of a restaurant. But its SO GOOD. There are a few food stalls that are set up in the parking lot for the lagoon so you'll have other options. But do not sleep on the fish and chips. I didn't see the Forest Lagoon but that sounds MAGICAL!
We loved Iceland. We went to Dynjani in the West-fjords and saw puffins, but white knuckled the drive up the mountains in a manual Kia Rio with no guardrails. 😂
haha! YES i know the white knuckling feeling- add in fog and wind and its not for the weak at heart! The puffins were sooo cute. I was sad to miss them this last trip. They had left for the season. I still haven't done the western Fjords- thats on our list!

Maybe there’s hope for me yet. I start of with good intentions, bringing my TN. And supplies with me, thinking I’m going to so my journals on the fly. When that doesn’t happen, they kind of fall by the wayside and wind up in a box, albeit with the discreet memorabilia and ephemera for that trip, but never get completed after the fact. I too loved Iceland which we did as part of a Scotland, Greenland, Faroe Islands cruise- the last location being quite remote. Of course love, love loved the Blue Lagoon and all the Fos (Falls) which I definitely not try to spell! There were also so many good new restaurants in the old part of town. I had to laugh though when I saw you pull off your shelf what I thought was. “Flam” TN. Now that was another crazy north to the arctic circle/Norway trip! Perhaps I will get to finishing my TN from my SE Asia trip (in 2018) which was really where my at junk journaling journey actually began! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh totally! Rarely am I filling it out as I go, especially if its a trip where I know I'm going to be doing a lot of activities. I just keep a note in my phone and jot things down by the day... where we went, funny conversations, what we did, etc. And then when I want to actually sit down and fill everything in, I look back in my camera roll and my notes for the things I want to take a moment to document!
oh, and BLUE LAGOON is just the perfect thing after a long flight. If you go back, def try the Sky Lagoon that I wrote about near the end of the 2022 book. (Im working on adding chapters to the video so its easier to find things in the video)
Isn't it gorgeous?! Were you able to see the northern lights in March? We got super lucky with only one real day over the two weeks we were there to catch them. Summer is amazing because its a never ending sunset from like 10pm-2am.
@@bobo_design_studio we did not unfortunately. The weather was so crazy. The only night that they showed up was our first night there and we were exhausted so we missed it. There were days we had 60+mph wind gusts! It's truly like being in another world while there.
@@kristendoherty4062 YES! The wind is crazy! We landed on the heels of a hurricane and the winds had to have gusts of 60+ MPH. I thought our van was going to tip over. And here are people camping in tents like it's no big deal. Icelanders are built differently!
Such a beautiful and inspiring journal. I’m so excited to go to Iceland! We’ve wanted to go for years and years. What were your best sources for planning your trip?
You should definitely go! It’s so magical! Since it’s an island with one major road that goes all around, it was easy to sort of plot our stops. I actually used a Moon Guides travel book for a lot of the nitty gritty (it’s one of the BEST books for travel) and then from there cross referenced with stuff I saw online (trip advisor/IG). And I recommend tracking by RV if you can! It’s the best way to see everything!
Nope, all our journals are destination agnostic. So this journal is filled out for Iceland! You're going to have the best time and Im hoping you can catch the Northern Lights!
I am ordering one of these for each of my family members going to Iceland with me in September! Love this idea. What camera do you recommend for these photos/videos of the northern lights? And what littlw printer do you use? I think some of us will sit and work on this together every night while we are still there!
omg yay!!!!! first off- if you plan on getting multiple, be sure to take advantage of the bundles as those have an added discount! And I actually use my iPhone. If you catch the northern lights, its THAT clear and vivid! We had a DSLR, but our phones took the best images and video. I hope hope hope you can catch them. We went in October and was in Iceland for 2 weeks and only had one day to catch them bc of the weather. It was a downright spiritual experience to see that. I've never felt so connected to nature. As for the printer, I love the instax printer! It is my go to for all photos as you can tell from my videos. amzn.to/3Qo0vDU
oh, and I recommend taking notes on your phone through the day so you can log the names of places you visit. This way, when you do get a chance to sit down, you can easily look back at your notes and record the places you've been to!
