In 2022 we had 34% of the songs in the countries native language,
in 2023 we had 32%,
and in 2024 we got 43%!!! And it's absolutely beautiful! 👏
Eurovision is going back into a wonderful direction, full of different cultures, diversities and languages, which represents us, Europeans!🥰
also in 2021 it was only 29% and most of them didn't even qualify for the final
Europapa has gotta win. It's such a quintessentially Dutch song, but celebrating the whole of Europe.

It was just a contest of which country sent the best Radio Banger. Native songs barely made it into the finals or barely got points.. (remember Ukraine 2021)

IMO, this is one of the strongest ESC lineups in years. But I want the following in the top ten (in no particular order): Croatia, Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, Austria, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, and Belgium. With Armenia, Cyprus, the UK, Spain, and Slovenia these would make a great top 15.

There are several really outstanding songs such as: Norway, Ireland, Greece, Estonia, San Marino, Croatia, Switzerland, I really hope one of them will win.
Also there are some songs with brilliant quality: Serbia, Belgium, Slovenia, Ukraine, Portugal, Lithuania, Czechia, Italy. And some songs that might be not so outstanding, but I really like them such as Uk, Azerbaijan and others.

So, after sampling all of these 3 times, and picking the ones I like best, and sampling a longer version of the songs, the best one was Edie Golan. There were several others I will buy, if they’re available, but I’m surprised at many of the higher ranking choices. There were some generic, some, to me, boring, but, I will say-quite a few very talented singers.

after listening all 37 songs I can feel this year can be called as huge comeback for eurodance and europop from 90s. Gustav last year started this trend and it keeps going. I don't remember I heard so many familiar sounds in 2024 that once I listened when I was a kid.
Plus another trend is alternative rock + a bit emo-ish sound from early 00s for almost all bands this year.
And ofc main trend is national languages and some with their traditional instruments! Definitely will be very interesting to watch, since there is just a few traditional eurovision songs, finally :D
