In 2022 we had 34% of the songs in the countries native language,
in 2023 we had 32%,
and in 2024 we got 43%!!! And it's absolutely beautiful! 👏
Eurovision is going back into a wonderful direction, full of different cultures, diversities and languages, which represents us, Europeans!🥰

Europapa has gotta win. It's such a quintessentially Dutch song, but celebrating the whole of Europe.
@@renemeyer256 Yeah it‘s a great song and so important too. So sad how lame English pop songs were the standard and winning songs for the past 20 years.. It was just a contest of which country sent the best Radio Banger. Native songs barely made it into the finals or barely got points.. (remember Ukraine 2021)

In my opinion, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Azerbaijan (too underrated!) Croatia.

Then I checked the bookies and fan favourites. I am shocked at how much Estonia and Serbia are underated. I am also surprised at how overrated Switzerland and Italy are, especially the Italian song is unimpressive to me. Also, the song from Austria is overrated by fans, personally it's irritating for me and I can't listen to it a second time. Congrats Croatia well deserved but in what universe can Croatia be the first favorite and Estonia the 23rd place of the bookmakers, it simply does not make sense when both have a similar vibe and genius.
And let's be honest, there's always a songs we don't like. 😂 For me, these are songs from Finland (my last year winner 😶 ), Ireland, Iceland, Czechia and San Marino.

Good luck to all participants from Ukraine! IMO, this is one of the strongest ESC lineups in years. That’s my favorites up to now: Greece, Lithuania, Spain, Croatia, Finland, Netherlands. Regarding the Greek song is fantastic supported by a singer with amazing presence, performance, and voice. It’s fresh and cool with an unbeatable rhythm. The more I listen to it, the more I like it ♥. The song will be a summer hit this year. I already hear all Greek islands echoing to this song and its rhythm….

after listening all 37 songs I can feel this year can be called as huge comeback for eurodance and europop from 90s. Gustav last year started this trend and it keeps going. I don't remember I heard so many familiar sounds in 2024 that once I listened when I was a kid.
Plus another trend is alternative rock + a bit emo-ish sound from early 00s for almost all bands this year.
And ofc main trend is national languages and some with their traditional instruments! Definitely will be very interesting to watch, since there is just a few traditional eurovision songs, finally :D

Also there are some songs with brilliant quality: Serbia, Belgium, Slovenia, Ukraine, Portugal, Lithuania, Czechia, Italy. And some songs that might be not so outstanding, but I really like them such as Uk, Azerbaijan and others.
