WOW! That was heavy! I really love how this album is bringing a mix between the heavy prog from later albums and the feel of the Road Salt albums. What an unique sound!
This álbum is remarkable. On a tuesday, Full throttle Tribe, Reasons, Meaningless... The title Song ... But ... I really love ALL their discography. Listening to Panther right now...Man, that Song WAIT hits me every time. Amazing.
Curtis Chin I think you will find it sounds like my aunties left elbow with 24% yes, 15% King crimson, 4 parts vermouth, a slice of dill pickle garnished with a grating of infant annihilator Wut
Lyrics with some probable mistakes (help?): These are the reasons Are you true? - True to me or you? Nine, ten, ten, ten, eleven
he was behind the drums on some concerts back in 2010 for a whole song while Leo was singing plus for one hell of a jamming song, and he rocked the shit out of the drums :)
This is awesome! The good old Pain of Salvation, yet always evolving, this time with just the right amount of influence of the modern downtuned meshuggahness, together with an appropriate homage to classic prog. Bravi!
In the chorus there is a sense of dialogue between Daniel and the band, that probably mimics a dialogue between two loved ones. Only when I read the lyrics while listening to the song I realized it. Quite freaking awesome I must say, gives the song a lot of depth and thought.
Then listen to the last song of the record! In the Passing Light of Day they both reference this song and "meaningless" in such a remorseful way. And you realize (or I did) that these two really terrible songs for a relationship is just a setup for the conclusional track.
So much Leprous here. Understandably could go either way as POS dates back further but this is a Leprous sound. It's ok to be influenced either way. Hopefully they love each other's bands.... and will tour together! Great song and GREAT album. Purchase it if you can afford to! Support this shit since too many do not. And at the end, that shit totally went to 11.
They changed their style a little bit in the previous 2 albums compared to their older work. I don't know from which 'era' those 5 songs you 've heard are. Judging from the fact that you liked this song I think you should give "Remedy Lane" and "The Perfect Element" albums a listen (PoS's classics)... ("Be" is also one of my personal favourites)
seems to me their progress is more like spiral, they change their sound radically but the whole musical idea remains the same, and their style is unique all the way from entropia, that's really awesome
I personally appreciate this, but I feel like there's a chorus missing. After the "these are the reasons" part I really would need an epic and a dramatic chorus which, unfortunately, isn't there.
Really?? I haven't checked the rest of the album out...but it took a LONG time for Meaningless and Reasons to grow on me. I love the days from Scarsick and before, couldn't stand his whole 70's phase. I'll have to give it a spin. I suppose I should check out Ragnar's material as I understand, he's the one that wrote Meaningless. I love his singing too.
@@planetsab One in a million? The underlying chord progression is like the most common one in rock/pop. Yeah, the melody line on top is cool and works well with it but the chord progression itself is VERY common. I like the song anyway though.
strange brew of new music from PoS here, I think the new album on the whole will be one that demands time and energy listening to it to grow on me properly. I've been a fan since just before Road Salt 1 came out and thought I was the only one to appreciate that double release for all its warm-toned hard rock beauty, as well as the whole discography with my personal favorite always going to Remedy Lane (because its the greatest love/loss/freedom/insanity concept record I've heard in my lifetime). I'll admit I might have moved away from listening to their music everyday and being so close in my life (BE and Scarsick I can't defend as righteously as I used to against naysayers) and I wasn't up for Meaningless or the video too much. In Reasons I feel like I'm hearing a natural amalgam of "Used" and maybe "Scarsick" title track. Looking forward still to the new album, Daniel Gildenlow and Pain of Salvation will always hold a special place in my heart
How would you describe this song, using one word? Daniel, for recent interview, quote: 'Funny'. Ok, i hope it stays that way, funny little song... 'these other/are? (the) reasons' a bit annoying dont ya think? But that 1:03 enter is sexy, quite sure that rarely someone can do it like Daniel! :+) Also, Disco Queen' was funny too, and it became a party banger... i hear potential in this too. P.S. - his hair is all way back to TPE era.
More technical and/or rhythmical than early P.O.S. But somehow I stick with the old P.O.S. Knowing that every single album of their career was a more or less pleasant surprise (think of "Be" after "Remedy Lane", very different but so beautiful) I now think that Scarsick was their last album that touched me. Sure the polyrhythmic stuff they do nowadays is impressive,...but it doesn't make me cry anymore. When I think of Remedy Lane:😭
WOW! That was heavy! I really love how this album is bringing a mix between the heavy prog from later albums and the feel of the Road Salt albums. What an unique sound!
Aren't you that guy that covered The Big Machine?
Yep that's me! =D
Ahh, I knew it! That was a great cover man!
Wow, Thanks! I never thought someone would recognize me like that. Have a great christmas and a happy new year there!
No problem haha. Thank you! Merry all those things to you too!
THIS WILL BE THEIR BEST ALBUM IN YEARS. MARK MY WORDS.
You were right. Best since One Hour By The Concrete Lake.
yea you were right
It was.
I don't give many chances because of this song...
On A Tuesday counts more
This álbum is remarkable. On a tuesday, Full throttle Tribe, Reasons, Meaningless... The title Song ... But ... I really love ALL their discography. Listening to Panther right now...Man, that Song WAIT hits me every time. Amazing.
" Are we happy?
As if anyone could ever be. "
Amalia Cicala yes!
Gives me goosebumps every time :')
When every single member of your band could be a great lead singer for any other band. These guys are astounding.
Love that syncopated chorus... It's good to have Daniel & friends back on the scene!
Just saw them live. Speechless and dancing. Truly amazing.
This just tells me I need the new PoS album now. Holy SHIT, what a brilliant track. First Meaningless and now this!!!!!!!!! The hype is incredible.
It sounds like a mix of Haken, Leprous, Gentle Giant, Meshuggah, Gojira and Oceans of Slumber. So many sounds.
it sounds like PoS nothing more nothing less
Curtis Chin I think you will find it sounds like my aunties left elbow with 24% yes, 15% King crimson, 4 parts vermouth, a slice of dill pickle garnished with a grating of infant annihilator
Wut
you forgot shaken, not stirred ;)
Heavy PoS is baaaaack!
Algo me decía que igual escuchabas PoS jaja
Lyrics with some probable mistakes (help?):
These are the reasons
Are you true? - True to me or you?
Are you free? - I thought I used to be
Are you mine? - You know I'll always be
Are you happy? - Well, are you blind?
Are we through? - 'Cause of me or you?
Are we free? - There's so many ways to be
Are you mine? - You know that I will always be
Are we happy? - As if anyone could ever be
These are the reasons
One - Because you fill me up with disgust
Two - Because you wear me down
Three - Because you don't understand me
Four - Because I hate every motherfucking word you say
Are we true? - To neither me nor you
Are we free? - There are too many ways to be
Is this love? - Mmm, the greatest one I've seen
Will it last? - Well, these are the reasons
Five - Because I fill you up with disgust
Six - Because I wear you down
Seven - Because I don't understand you
Eight - Because you loathe every motherfucking word I say
These are the reasons (x943)
Are you true? - True to me or you?
Nine, ten, ten, ten, eleven
I think for the is this love? line, the answer is "oh there is only one I've seen". Could be wrong too :D
Corrected! Thanks :)
These are Doritos*
These other reasons
@@zijing9548 That's what I thought it was this whole time too!
Pure awesomnessssssssssssssssssssss!!!!
Have anyone else cached Daniel behind the drums on 4:22 :D ??
he was behind the drums on some concerts back in 2010 for a whole song while Leo was singing plus for one hell of a jamming song, and he rocked the shit out of the drums :)
This is the Pain of Salvation I love!
Can't fucking wait for this one!
i listen to Pain Of Salvation everyday its my life

The sound of Pain of Salvation that I'm always longing for!
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, DANIEL! What a masterpiece!
Criatividade rolou solta. A banda não pára de trazer novidades interessantes a cada álbum.
Don't know where you've been in my music-listening experience lately, but welcome back Pain of Salvation!!
Such a pleasant surprise that this appeared on my feed first thing in the morning.
This is awesome! The good old Pain of Salvation, yet always evolving, this time with just the right amount of influence of the modern downtuned meshuggahness, together with an appropriate homage to classic prog. Bravi!
With this new lineup my expectations were low, but now I'm pleasantly surprised

OH MY FUCKING GOD. The intro riff sounds like a Gojira song fuck fuck I want this album
AAAAAAAH THIS IS AWESOME
and chorus sounds like Gentle Giant xD
My reaction on those 3 comments. This song is incredible.
I WANT MORE, I WANT THE 15 MINUTES TITLE TRACK INSIDE OF ME
So I wasn't only me hearing that :P
both singles have gotten instant replays from me, I'm super excited for this album
Daniel is back bitches!

Yes stronger and better then ever before this is my Favorite Pain of Salvation record since Remedy Lane.

Nice video and song! The changes between Gustaf and Ragnar are great!
And 1 second Leo on guitar, great!
And Daniel on drums!
The best progressive album of the last years of my life.
HOLY SHIT!!! I want this album so fucking much

These guys touring with Agent Fresco and Leprous would be unmissable!
That would be HUGE.
Awesome! Can't wait to see it live
Saw them live yesterday... ENERGETIC, HEAVY, AMAZING!!!
Also, nice to the see the Icelandic guy is a permanent member, not just for the acoustic album. He harmonizes with Gildenlow perfectly.
Synchronised movement and phonetics and electric guitar sound and drums and ahhh I love this piece
I want to see together Pain Of Salvation & Nothing More!!!!
Serbian Rock NOTHING MORE PAIN OF SALVATION!

We will see you in the ROCK IMPERIUM so get ready to ROCK!! 🤘🏽
Just discovered this band today with this song and damn it's fire !
Dude you're in for a whole new world.
Daniel González Actually I don't want to disappoint you but I listened to like 5 other of their songs after that and I liked none of them :/

Dolo ok then :v

Damn Daniel and PoS are like fine wine !
Love it! - Seems like POS is going a bit back to their heavier roots. Can't wait for the album
At 4:22 I recognise the Q-Krunkers from hell drummer!
Nice reference

Amazing job as usual! PoS is one of the most incredible bands in the world! :D

What a song!!!
Old sound from PoS! I like it!!!!
This song just melted my face straight off.
This song literally goes to eleven.
This song is consuming me!!!
Superb group.
Wonderful! Congratulations guys!
1:49 David Coverdale feelings 😀
Now that's evolution..
Now that's progresiveness...
indeed, progressive rock/metal is all about progress, evolution, and PoS define it so well!
seems to me their progress is more like spiral, they change their sound radically but the whole musical idea remains the same, and their style is unique all the way from entropia, that's really awesome

Loved ALL THOSE REFERENCES
excellent vivement le live ;-)

Speechless...

I can hear LEPROUS+HAKEN+MESHUGGAH+PoS!!
and a bit of slipknot
I heard Alice In Chains with the first riff, which now that you mention it, I could totally hear blending with Leprous!
Sounds very Leprous indeed
sounds nothing like leprous
and a bit from periphery
Scandinavian singers are the best!
YOU are the reasons i will LOSE my REASON!
I know you were there ....i m sorry i did not come ... but i am here now come to me
\m/ Can't wait for this album...this is amazing!
Pain of Meshuggah
This is PoS ... you'll never get what you expect ... but its great anyway! 25 days to go ...
MAN this is awesome!!!!!
0:32 - "This are Doritos, This are Doritos, This are Doritos, Doritos"
