Key West is the southernmost city in the contiguous United States and the westernmost island connected by highway in the Florida Keys. Duval Street, its main street, is 1.1 miles in length in its 14-block-long crossing from the Gulf of Mexico to the Straits of Florida and the Atlantic Ocean. Key West is the southern terminus of U.S. Route 1, State Road A1A, the East Coast Greenway and, before 1935, the Florida East Coast Railway. Key West is a port of call for many passenger cruise ships.

I am chronically ill.. housebound.. only been for 4.5y and im 34y old. But I have never been to the Us and I want to so bad but i am to ill to go. This vids are a blessing for me.. love to have them on and see what I am missing. . They give me good and calm feeling and Im seeing the US without being there. Thanks so much and its amazing how this is possible to do now.. vs the 90s. Im sp jealous of all the well and healthy people in this vid that get to travel and enjoy life. Covid has made me feel better because very few people are going anywhere now so im not AS bitter anymore. But I love this vids.. greetings from norway

Hey bro never feel bitter towards healthy people because they have no more control of their situation than you do. The state of others bares no real affect on you. You would be sick and wishing sickness on others won’t make you well.
If I could give you some advice it would be,,, appreciate what you have, the days you have ahead and how fortunate you are compared to some. I lost my best friend in the 7th grade due to suicide because I couldn’t make him understand. He was too young and inexperienced to believe me. Now I have lived his entire life-span 5.5 more times. That makes me feel pretty dang blessed but I am at the end of my life at 51. That seems young compared to many others that live into their 60s, 70s, 80s, etc, but it’s not a competition for me.
Being rich isn’t a competition either. Just because others seem to have so much more than me doesn’t make me feel negatively about them. It makes me happy for their success. That’s something I wish for my son.
You keep on keeping on and live to the fullest you can. Make your life meaningful to you and find happiness in yourself.
I will be praying for you. Please pray for me if you find the time.

Oh! I love Florida. It is one of the best place to stay in this planet. The place is well maintained and enjoyable to walk around. No overcrowding , no polution! Its simply A GREAT PLACE!

@@amym8073 Overcrowding is only in parts of major cities at the main hubs. You won't find overcrowding in Key West, Homestead, etc.
@@alexdrakeus1772 Absolutely false. I've visited relatives in a Florida small town and it has the traffic of NYC. Florida is being overcrowded everywhere because of so much people moving in.
Just...avoid Jacksonville. A lot of undesirable reasons. It has a cloud over it, inferiority complex perhaps. The beaches from Vilano on south are spectacular...but the minions from northern states are flooding in. Sad fact...

Memories...I was there in 2015. Six years gone already. If Florida wasn‘t so damn far away from Europe. Perhaps next year again.
Not been to key west for a good few years but nice to see it again . I absolutely loved everything about it .being from the UK it’s so very different the vid is laid back and chilled and I honestly never meet a soul that didn’t feel like I’d known them for years so friendly . I could ride that train all day to it’s brilliant. I must get back there I’m missing it now 🙏👍

Key west beach is Beautyful but nothing like Hallandale beach the water is blue, and strip got nice views.

Lived and worked Key West from 2008-2012. It's a magical place of mostly peace and tranquility, but you better stay alert and in control because it can be a nightmare. I lived in Key West for 5 years. It's the most beautiful place with the nices people I've ever experienced. Florida was until I moved to Fresno, California and then to Texas.
Leaving tomorrow for Key West, I am lucky and only live about four hours north...The drive down is part of the experience..
But first stop is Robbie's On Islamorada for lunch.
We go down every year...Thank you for a early start.
4 hours lucky about 8 hours for me and I just drive over night and let my wife sleep get there in the morning we also go every year in Dec this year is 11

I vacationed in Florida when I was 9, we did come here, the old schoolhouse looked familiar, but I don't remember much sadly, its such a beautiful vibrant place, would love to go again as an adult

Latitudes is a great beachside restaurant down in Key West as well. A short boat ride from Key West to a small island and well worth it!

I know this is an old video but I wasnt fully aware of how bright flordia is until I saw this. I feel bad for the residents who have to drive through this everyday. Definitely not somewhere id want to live, I'm going for Disney World and maybe one of the many beaches but thats it!

What a rush... I just got back to my RV after making most of this same walk.... I even had a beer and lunch at the "La Te Da" Going back tomorrow morning to do the rest of the walk... just got too hot for the old man LOL!!
Loved watching this! We live in West Palm Beach and go to the Keys often. We will be at Key West next week and loved seeing all the new businesses and renovations they did. We are looking forward to it! Also, one of Hollywood Beach, Florida, our favorite Florida beach, would be fun to see!

I already commented more Key West. But you should also do St. Augustine if you get up this way. Similar vibes to Key West, but far far older. Lived there half my life and never got bored of walking around downtown. People would love it.

We were there at the southernmost point in December 2020. So many more people on the streets now. Beautiful no matter what time of the year you visit. Can’t wait to go back to Key West. Thank you for the chance to visit again without actually being there!

Hey Jenn. I’ve had very bad anxiety for years. I know how you struggle. I recently started eating bananas. I know it sounds silly. But I ate 2 bananas a day for 1 week, then 1 banana a day after that. It has helped my anxiety a lot. Just thought I’d share. Good luck to you and Thomas. I miss you guys on UA-cam!!! You do not need a car. Walk from the airport to southern most point
The island is 2 miles by 3 miles I live here. Yes you need to be picked up from the airport unless you like a nice walk from the beach down to the southernmost point it will take you about 1 hour
Thinking of renting a golf cart bc it’s hard for me to walk that far. I could bike easily, but not sure my sisters would want to bike it. Is it difficult to find parking ? And I’ve read parking is like $4/ hour. Two of us have disabled parking permits… would parking be free with the disabled cards we have ?

Wow, everything is so commercialized! Hey Windwalk, could you go to the Everglades to show us some unique Florida wildlife and give us a break from all these selling-oriented streets?
You have no idea just how much of the Keys IS wildlife and natural beauty with life on the water being a big plus. Don't get your viewpoint from just walking the street that caters to drinking and shopping!
Duval st is all about bars clubs store restaurants and hotels the cruise ships drop people off there for that stuff.
FYI, Key West has the southernmost point of the continental US, but Ka Lae on the big island of Hawaii is the southernmost point of the US. Key West is definitely more hospitable. At Ka Lae, what few trees are there grow sideways due to the wind. 😁

Wear shoes on Higgs Beach. The coral will cut your feet to ribbons. Smathers Beach isn't as bad.

If going in summer wear the lightest cloths you can find no underwear keeps you comfortable lol and you can walk on Shadyside of street to help keeping you comfortable don't miss the docks great restaurants and of course garden of eden upstairs late eves :÷)
