Even though this video is now 10 years old I still find myself coming back to it monthly. I haven't lived in Louisville in over 12 years but this video always reminds me of the cool and quirky things of my hometown. It would be amazing to see an updated version if at all possible. Thank you for creating something that positively captures my home.
I've got another one in the works that I've been shooting since *checks hard drives*....2016. I've been shooting a little every year since then except for 2023. I ended up taking a look at what I color graded for this upcoming video and decided I needed to re-grade everything. Currently learning to make websites so I've got a site up when I release the new video. I don't know if it'll happen but my goal is to get a website up and release a new version of the video late summer. I probably need to capture another 15 or so shots. Thanks so much for the kind words and taking the time to comment. I hope you're enjoying where you currently live!

THANK YOU! Glad someone finally did a kick-ass time-lapse of our great city. You rock man and you're part of what makes Louisville so great... the people.
I moved from San Diego to Louisville in 93 and lived there until I moved to Syracuse NY in Jan 2000 for University. Moving from SD to Louisville was hard, and I never gave it a fair shake. The downtown is really rather beautiful. Some of my fondest memories will always be of Louisville; especially when I played football in Cardinal Stadium in 96. My best friend still lives there, and so does my sister. Thanks for the memories Louisville!
That's interesting because I was also from SD, Carlsbad and moved to Louisville in 88. I hated leaving our beachfront property and never settled into Louisville. But after some years and great friends, it grew on me. Now I live near the ocean again in Lisbon Portugal for 10 years and make trips home to visit my sister and family.
This has got to be one of my favorite videos on UA-cam. Your photography skills are impeccable! Louisville is such a great city to live in and you have showcased it wonderfully. Keep up the great work.☺
I was born here in Louisville Kentucky.I will die in this city and I'll be buried in a Louisville cardinal outfit I love this city it's got great people and a very special part of my life my wife and kids so as long as Louisville don't kick me out I'll be here forever
Wow Eric..I shared with my sister in Washington State. You renewed my love and pride for Louisville. You certainly captured the essence of our home. By far the best you tube production/video I have seen. Loved it!
Seeing all the familiar places I've grown up around and still live along...I dunno...makes me sentimental. My city is BEAUTIFUL. It gives me chills. I stopped keeping count of the places where I made memories. This is really amazing to watch. Thank you.

I knew this was a great video and better than the best. And I just saw clips from it on a TV ad promoting Kentucky tourism. Really enjoyed this original look at a beautiful southern city-the downtown is planned so wonderfully. A jewel of a town, and now we have this time lapse treasure to forever admire it....
I’m from here and I live in Lakeville Indiana now and I miss Louisville so much!! This video helps! Thank you so much for capturing this beautiful city!
Really enjoyed seeing this -- wish it were longer! We miss Louisville now that we've moved to Austin TX. Great job! Worth all the time you spent. Thanks for your work.
I lived there for 15 years I felt like it was my home now that I'm away from there the only thing I want is to return ... I miss the weather the people and my old friends that leave there..my old kentucky home
You've created a beautiful masterpiece; I will always have fond memories of this city. I was able to view my college, first job and wedding venue all in one video... amazing!
Really great video. Only wish would have had a bit of the south part of the city - like a shot from Iroquois Park outlook over the city or Dixie Highway or Waverly Hills.
Eric, I LOVE this video, you definitely put a lot of time and patience into it. I discovered it about 4 years ago and I find myself watching it time and time again. I'm from Louisville, but currently live in Florida and miss the heck out of it. Thank you for this awesome video!
Hi Anthony, thanks so much for the views and the comment! I've been thinking about making one of these for a city in Florida for a few years now, maybe I'll head down this winter when it's too cold to shoot out here.
Yeah, Miami might be the better choice of the two. Downtown Orlando doesn't have a whole lot to offer... Might I suggest West Palm Beach too. I live there, and its a smaller city, but it's beautiful. And as a bonus, you've got Palm Beach just a walk across the bridge.
From the looks of this video Louieville looks unlike a lot of southern cities in that it looks older with more urban character than most,if not all,the other southern cities.Nice old architecture gives it a nice urban vibe.It has somewhat of an midwest look to it...I like it.I'm from Cleveland and I like older, gritty cities.I think older cities have more charm and character.I'll have to go and check Louieville out.I've passed through several times on my way to Memphis but never stopped to check it out.And from the looks of this video,it blows Memphis and Nashville away! Nice video!!
Some people will say Louisville is a southern city and others will tell you its a Midwestern city. I guess Louisville kind of blends the two together. Kentucky is a southern state, but Louisville does feel like a Midwestern city, in my opinion, and others. After all, it's right across the river from Indiana too.
+Ville24 - I think Louisville has features of both southern and northern. Just looking at the map of the US, Louisville appears to be northern to me. It's a lot closer to other northern/midwestern places than southern places but the culture in Louisville is a good mix of the two, which is cool.
Back yesterday from 10 days on the bourbon trail. Louisville, Kentucky is a great place to be. Trace Adkins playing on 4th street, cool people great food and drinks. Bardstown just down the road is a place to just take in history and beautiful sights. Landed in LAX, CA. And instantly wanted to get back on the plane.

I was driving around at night just trying to find a call way to show it off, and that area looked awesome! walked around that area for probably 30 minutes before deciding on that move.

Either Orlando or Miami, probably Miami though since it's bigger and will probably eventually be underwater.
