Please watch in HD/4K with good speakers for the optimal experience.
This is a time-lapse video resulting from a 15,000 km (almost 10,000 miles) long road trip and tens of thousands of images taken along the way over the last 5 months. The journey has covered all of Norway’s 19 counties, from the far south to the Russian border in the Northeast.
The aim of this 5 minute short film is to show the variety of Norway, everything from the deep fjords in the Southwest, to the moon landscape in the North, the Aurora Borealis (Nothern Lights) and the settlements and cities around the country, both in summer and wintertime. The video shows some of the most scenic places in Norway, such as Lofoten, Senja, Helgelandskysten, Geirangerfjorden, Nærøyfjorden and Preikestolen.
If you are interested in reading the tales, seeing behind-the-scenes photos from the journey and a map of the route driven, head over to rustadmedia.com
The soundtrack is custom-made for this film by the very talented fellow Norwegian Jogeir.

Now people will understand why despite it being one of the worlds most expensive countries to visit, it is entirely worth it!!! I spent a week cycling around Stavanger / Kjeragbolten / Preikestolen this summer…just me, my rucksack and tent…taking in all this country has to offer!!! It's a second home. A country I will be exploring every year from now on. Senja Island…see you next May!!!

And we will welcome you. And you should consider visiting in the winter. A friend of mine from Italy was visiting me and a very powerful Aurora Borealis appeared. He was actually afraid, but he thought that we where just outside the house so he had to be safe. He said it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.

ThisIsBarcode Allemannsretten, (or everyman's right / the freedom to roam) will make a trip to Norway cheaper if you're adventurous enough. Good to see that hiking enthusiasts know they have this option in Norway.

    • @ThisIsBarcode

Oddi92 Well my whole trip cost me more than I expected only due to British Airways damaging my bike enroute and thus meaning I was behind schedule and missed by scheduled ferries. I did wild camp 4 nights of the trip. Despite this, it was still a life changing trip and I sleep easy at night knowing that all I have to do is jump on a plane for a couple of hours and I can be with nature and roam freely. Norway stole a large part of my heart and I now have Preikestolen tattooed on my leg with an Oscar Wild quote to accompany it…"Jeg Ønsker Å Leve"…or as Oscar said…"I don't want to earn a living, I want to live".

You know that the Nortern Light is only in Wintertime visible. So put on very good clothes. It is dark all the time in the winter and very cold. The landscapes from my point of view, can be best enjoyed in summertime, June to August. Days are very long and the nature is awsome. September I was also once in Norway, when Autumn arrived. The forrest are then very special with all imaginable colors. Maybe you can stay there one year so you can enjoy all the seasons of this magnificant country. It is very expensive in Norway, but maybe if you go for studies or a one year job with a visa. People are generally shy but very friendly as well, you will like it.
