I bought this watch a week ago. I came from wearing many Garmin Fenix watches full time over the years and decided I wanted to just wear a tracking gps watch to track my runs only, and wear a “real” watch day to day. Love my Wahoo Bolt for bike rides so decided to try this for running. Have used it for three runs now, and has done well except HR measurement for me also. I know I overpaid for what it is, and especially for me using it only as a running watch, but I’m still happy. I like not being in the Garmin ecosystem, and I use my Polar Sense for HR paired to this, and it does what I need. Display is clear, I like the zoom feature, and setup of the displays in the app is so simple. It’s minimalist if you will and it has that Wahoo “it just works” factor (except for HR). Living in the Atlanta area, like the idea of supporting a home town company as well.
This is awesome! Wahoo makes great stuff. I do think the watch might need a few iterations before it’s perfect but I have a feeling that Wahoo will keep advancing. I’m a big fan of the simple Wahoo Bolt. Does all the stuff I need but isn’t overly complicated. Thank you so much for posting your feedback and experience with the watch. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for eventually addressing the HR accuracy topic. This is all I care about in a smart watch. And absolutely no watch seems to get this right yet, sadly. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a video that kind of talks about why HR at the wrist is hard but I agree with you that no watch is perfect. HR strap is the way to go if you want the most accurate results. And the strap doesn’t have to be expensive. It can also depend on skin tones for optical HRMs but the Apple Watch might be one of the most accurate on the market right now. 🤷🏻♂️

Anyway I’m looking forward to their next round. All it needs is accuracy nailed and on board maps and I’m in. Maybe something smaller aimed at runners? Maybe early next year? 🤷🏻♂ Honestly, I have no idea. If I knew anything, I wouldn't speculate. But I really like Wahoo cycling computers but at this point I'd probably look strongly at something like a Garmin FR 255 if it were me. Keep me posted on what you're thinking. I'll be curious to hear what you end up with and what you think of it. 👍🏻
@@mlegrand I am FR245 user for quite a while now and I feel like needing an upgrade (maybe its just me wanting a new watch, but it is what it is). I plan on a few trips around the Europe (hiking, running, surfing, open water swimming) now and my eyes are on the newest Suunto product and this Wahoo Rival - I dont feel comfortable and personally dont like the Garmin app nor the watch menus and all that much). I know thesr are two VERY different products, but well, budget doesnt matter that much. In the future I would like to go into cycling, maybe try the triathlon one day. As of now its mostly running, mobility, hiking and ocasionally swimming. FR245 was my first smartwatch.
too bad about the hrm it's kind of a deal breaker for me
I guess if you really wanted this watch you could pair it with a cheap chest strap HRM. But yeah, it's tricky these days with there being so many good watches out there right now. 🤷🏻♂️
the thing with Apple watches is that you need an iphone to make useful...
Very true
Часы полный провал. Меню бедное. Дисплей тусклый. Настройки урезаные. Качество экрана очень низкое. Пожелел что купил .
So sorry you're having a hard time with this one Igors. There are still things I really like about this watch. It's a nice looking watch, feels well built and it's still light weight. I agree that Wahoo has a ways to go with this watch but I think they'll continue to iterate on this device. Thanks for watch the video and commenting.
I gave up after 3 minutes. You know. You know. You know. You know. Absolutely unbearable
Sorry you didn’t like this video Christopher.
