Benidorm is located on the Costa Blanca, Spain. Famous for it's beaches, bars, restaurants, nightlife, entertainment, hotels, sightseeing, party atmosphere, excursions, tours and sun. It is not only one of the top holiday destinations in Spain but one of the best tourist hotspots in the whole of Europe. British and Irish tourists love to travel to Benidorm, being one of the best resorts for a package holiday, but it is also well loved by many European travellers, and of course the Spanish themselves. It is an all year round holiday resort, the good weather means there is something to offer visitors of all nationalities and ages, and you will always find things to do and places to go. I was sitting on a bench on the beach front once with my purse next to me. A handsome young Spanish man drove up to me on a scooter, I thought he was going to ask me for my number, but no. He grabbed my purse and tried to drive off! I jumped up and grapped the neck of his t shirt as he was trying to go, and he fell off his bike and it was spinning around on the floor, and my purse went flying. He was so determined he still tried to get it before me though his shirt was ripped and his bike was down, but I wasn't having that! He accepted defeat and drove off. There wasn't even any money in it, only my room card, but it's the principle! I didn't realise but there was a huge crowd watching me from the bar behind, and I got a huge round of applause! Proudest moment of my life. 😊
Shame the crowd didn't try to help instead of just observing 🙄
This video appeared to me randomly for some reason and it is very informative and I hope people take note of it. I've only been to Benidorm once many years ago, around 1978ish and it was very different looking then and only my second holiday abroad from the UK. I enjoyed it at the time, but I've never had any desire to return since, it just doesn't appeal to me, there were scammers there even then. Everything the lady says certainly is common sense, but I bet some people who see this still certainly will fall foul of the scammers. Listen folks!!!
Not so many years ago, my mum was robbed in broad daylight in the revolving doors of the Pelicanos, hotel security was ambivalent and the management couldn't have cared less. And my parents have lived abroad and travelled all their lives. Great Video Lucy.

On my very first night in Benidorm, I walked back alone from the square to Sol Pelicanos, worse for wear. Some dude appeared from nowhere and started dancing with me. “You English, you sing, you dance” he was saying as he tried dipping my pockets with no luck.
Few years later, I was on my way out to find my mates, and went down a dark street near the market. As I started making my way down, someone was whistling as if to signal, so I started to jog - same bloke jumped out of a dark doorway! Thankfully, I saw him and he backed off when he realised I was a big bloke and sober.
I wonder if he’s still there as I don’t think he was Spanish.

Hi Lucy - watching your video which I must say is very informative - then I blinked / looked at my screen again / I did numerous shakes of my head & thought to myself "A tiger in benidorm !!!! never At first I thought it was a large dog !! but then I came to my seniors / Good One Lucy & Team I'll certainly be watching for the next!!!!

I hope a lot of people watch this. I really do believe that when a lot of people are on holiday they do quite literally leave their common sense on the plane so videos like this definetely serve to wake people up 😄 just avoid what would you would avoid at home.
Had a fab week last week never got round to seeing you just ran out of time. Was always on the ball with our belonging and saw the pea men in the entrance to indoor Market we quickened our pace immediately. Thank you for all the videos. Back again next June and we will pop along to winners. ❤

Thank you so much for showing and telling people about scams and pickpocking .I love benidorm and i heard when i was there in nay that the pea scam people had alread scamed a man out of 70 euros .and when those three men i stopped with a lot of people shouting get away there scamming you he got away and the pea gang were not happy. They walk away left the box then quickly got one off them to run back and get it .I love benidorm hopefully back over next year sometime thank you lucy. Keep safe and keep smiling

Thanks for this highly informative and valuable Vlog Lucy - it is so worthwhile noting, especially with the newer visitors to the resort what could be expected, I mean that one where you have just arrived on the transfer coach really surprised me. Thanks for that, will keep a special eye out now.
Now, the darn Pea-Men - Tom and I were on the Prom, having a lovely drink at The Lazy Cow. Pea-Men were on the prowl and they also have a look out for the Police, then they all gather their items up and shoot round the side alley behind this venue.
The look out then comes back to the front to check if coast is clear, if it is, then they come back onto the prom to continue their scam. I got a really good, clear photo of one of them. Brilliant video as always, another scam still doing the rounds is getting dodgy coins amongst euros in your change form the unbranded supermarkets you don't exactly lose a fortune but the scam is still out there.

What a good blog. To let people no what to be careful of i was in benidorm in may thia year and i saw these three men and went to one of them its a scam and then he shouted at his mates to get away .the pee people are all ways the same people .Thank yoy lucy for this blog keep safe and keep smiling

Hi Lucy have just watched the video for the second time and there are a couple of scams that happened to people staying in hotels that i was in but not to me. At one end of Levente theirs a Tourist office and apparently a women has just got maps from their but appears lost she asks someone they both look at the map someone blows a whistle both of you look in the direction your attention is diverted and in that second two people have rifled your pockets another one your on the bus going to the hotel 5 or 6 people get off and get their bags and then a thief from the street helps himself to someone's luggage i have heard of these two robberies more than a couple of times but so far i have i suppose been Lucky so these are two that i know of All the best Lucy. This is really interesting. I've been to benidorm and other Spanish resorts many many times and have never carried my passport or a copy of it. I'm trying to think of an occasion where I've had ID on me and I can't think of one. I must have been lucky not to have been stopped. I will photocopy our passports before I next go away.

Many years ago before i lived oom Benidorm I was in Benidorm Looking around I felt a guy on. My shoulder I was in the old town I stepped side ways and back ending up behind him and rushed across the road When i looked back A guy in a flashy shirt had hold of him with his arm up behind his back So police are there

We are visiting for the first time as a family of 3 (2 adults and 11yo), we are staying in Flamingo Oasis, not sure that’s new or old town. We have watched quite a few of your vids, the big fancy dress party is definitely on out hit list!
Anyway, why not make a video about family friendly entertainment both of a day and evening. What shows are in the bars, what attractions are near by and so on.
It's new town on the bus route but easy walk to the beach Hotel will have literature on local activities ..opposite hotel a number of bars with live entertainment which changes daily ENJOY
Yes you're staying in the Rincon end of New Town, right opposite are some good family friendly bars 👍 we do plan to do a video about family friendly bars soon
