Hey - The Dungeon Beneath dev here, thanks so much for covering the game! Squire + Lightning Adept is a great combo.
P.S. For anyone interested in the game, we have a sale lined up for later this week. Maybe wait until Thursday (July 29th) before picking up the game :D
P.S.S. If you like the game, please consider leaving a review. We're a tiny studio and leaving a review helps out SO MUCH!
hello, may i know has this game finish developing or still in progress ?
@@yausapphire5561 we're still releasing updates every month or so! Our plan is to continue updating the game for as long as there's interest in it :)
Good stuff! Thanks for the heads up.
@@PuzzleBoxGames_Official updates wise i'm fine, what i want to ask is the game playable ? because i don't mind waiting longer for a good game. thats my question, sorry if i'm not good at expressing it
are you an Ogre Battle fan by any chance? your battle system is reminiscent of its system! which makes me smile
Aaand he leaves out the second lizardman he could get, so the first guy's effect is still dead. Nice.
He also ignored the enchanter that gives mages +1 power, which was his entire strategy for that one guy dealing damage whenever he gained power.
He also ignored the dude that buffs summoners when he had that steel summoner.
I'm convinced that he does this on purpose.
splat was at cap limit, the second lizard man was very squishy and needed to backline, so taking him means leaving a lane open or breaking the enchanter/squire combo. Splat did the right thing.
The entire reanimated golem fight he forgot to move the mage with the squire so it could benefit from the squires bonus to attack.
This channel is literally amazing for finding new games ty
Agree. The reviews are kept on-point, nonstop for information, and never get political.
Having said that, SplatterCat is actually very good at gaming even after only seeing any given game for a few hours, so a more casual gamer's experience may vary. ;)
@@DPtheOG dont agree with that third one and also who cares about being a non-casual gamer but yes, you are right about the first two.
@@DPtheOG "dont agree with the third one" as in it's not a negative to me to get political, as long as it isnt the main focus.
Wow, first time im disappointed the episode was so short.
Sometimes it's not the length, but the girth that matters.
Enough to give you interest without spoiling it
If Splatty had moved his hero up or down the squire would have always buffed the lightning mage. His hero would also always buff the lightning mage as it was the only mage.
Yep. But it's easy in this game to overlook such stuff. There are so many characters that you can forget the quirks of them.
@@advkow to clarify, I didn't mean this as a criticism of his gameplay. He's got commentary, and video length, and other more important stuff to worry about over perfecting his synergy. I just couldn't think of a good way of including that in the original post without making it exceptionally long.
I think this us absolutely a winner! Great sound track, awesome art direction for the game, and just the right amount of combat/rewards system. I think ill pick this up!
Thanks for showing us the game Splattercat!
Damn, the soundtrack is enough reason to by the game. This seems like a hidden gem :)
Soundtrack is fantastic.
It's fun, the pacing is nice and the tactical options seem varied. The fight give interesting challenges too, lots of good things bundled into a neat looking game.
Pretty cool. Yeah, a heroes-in-reserve row would be pretty nice. Might make a good feature you could win through multiple playthroughs, gain at higher difficulty, or something similar. They could even add a "Benchwarmer" curse, where one or more slots with heroes in them are locked out for a room or series of rooms.
Looks like Orna
What a coincidence, I just fell into autobattler rabbit hole during summer sale. Guess I'll wishlist this too.
Same, right now im playing Storybook Brawl daily. Any recommendation for other autobattler?
@@anantorizkiadi1800 Astronarch is great. I also greatly recommend Domina, though it gives you opportunity to control one gladiator per match.
Please stream this on Twitch!! This game looks really fun!
I love the sprite package used for the art in the game.
I play a mobile game that uses the same art.
I'm adding this to my wish list!
Orna right? Is this related to it in any way besides same assets?
KeeperRL uses a lot of the same sprites too. I forget the name of the publisher, it's a pack that's for sale somewhere. Nice assets though.
Nooo! You ended it right after a bunch of upgrades! I wanted to see.
Been playing this game a TON and it's a lot of fun.
I bought this game halfway through the video. It's awesome
Thank you for always showing such awesome games!!
"The friendly, next door ghost that helps you make pancakes".
That was gold!
A banger? Did Splat just channel Yippie? Lol. Great review as always Splat!!
Looks good. Thanks for the video!
Great synthwave,great find splat
Those are the sprites from Orna RPG.
Hey! Dev here. Good eye! Both The Dungeon Beneath and Orna RPG use open-source sprites from Oryx Labs as a base. That said, the game includes a ton of custom art made in that style as well
@@PuzzleBoxGames_Official Fair enough! I had no idea they were open source. I'd only ever seen them in Orna.
@@PuzzleBoxGames_Official Minor nitpick but I'm guessing you meant Oryx Design Lab, not Oryx Labs nor Oryx Lab (which all seem to be totally different companies...)
@@laurentdebuyst3941 Yes - Oryx Design Lab! Haha, didn't know there was such a variety of oryx-based labs
Okay wow yea I just asked about this and I loved the game Orna on my phone and the sprites still act kinda the same as the game and I'm all for it
16:42
I spit on you.
Enchanter gives Power to all mages.
This mean that YOUR MAGE shoot THRICE at the end of round.
And at 3-rd lvl it will be thrice times with 3 dmg each.
RTFM!
omg that pass on the enchanter made me facepalm so hard loool
This art for the characters are used in a lot of games
I aslways disliked these party building, tactical RPGs, but I love the art style and card game feeling. I'll give it a shot
playing this Game for a while now. Really addicting. It is weird to see it played on normal Speed. I usually max out the speed asap so I don't spend 90% of my Time watching attack animations ^^
O_o the icon graphics look identically to ORNA the GPS RPG
Huh, this looks pretty cool
Not the worst I've seen of games in this simple style, of which there are a great many. I suspect the amount of choices might be smaller than it may seem (which is typical), but I could be wrong. Maybe there's so many eligible heroes and combat patterns, you get variation for days. If there is, it's priced right. If there's not, it's 5 bucks too much.
Hey! Dev here - currently we have 60 playable characters and 11 heroes - but we're releasing more content every month or so! Also, if you wait till Thursday the price might be a bit lower ;)
If this kills my free time... i'm blaming you mate :D
I absolutely love this game. They have added a lot since this video was made, perhaps an update video is necessary? ;) I've showcased some of the new content myself if you're interested in seeing what's new.
I hate your channel, because all these games are really good and I wanna see more of you playing them! Your commentary is really entertaining! Screw you making me want to buy games!
i love games like this
I watched the old video then this video, I could not tell that anything was different, I played it for couple hours and got board quick. I think a larger board with more spaces would increase the play for me but I guess I just dont see the draw. Not that I hate it just dont see to many hours of fun to be had. left me wanting a team with a budget to make it into more then what i would expect to play on my phone.
That game has the exact same sprites as the mobile game called Orna.
Hey, TBD dev here. Both The Dungeon Beneath and Orna use open-source sprites from Oryx Design Lab as a base. That said, the game includes a ton of custom art made in that style as well
@@PuzzleBoxGames_Official well, that makes a lot of sense then.
FFS Where is my adorable ghost next door that helps me make pancakes?
Why do I always have to make pancakes alone????
Heyyy, I was wondering why the sprites look familiar. They're the same sprites used in another game I've played before. Does anyone know the name of the sprite pack in case it's a purchasable asset? Thanks.
Battle system reminds me of Ogre Battle
"Good to know a pot isn't an ally."
You don't say. (:
The gameplay reminds me of that one series of Japanese h-games.
Aren't sprites here from KeeperRL?
They look similar, but different. The KeeperRL ones look like they have more depth. I don't have a side-by-side comparison, just working from what I saw going to the website.
Nice job keeping it under 30 minutes. 🙂
do you ever get key to give out any of tese games you review?
ok, nice game... but I think of Orna , looking at it :D
are the sprites look like "idle raiders" or is it just me?
Did they update it since last time?
We've put out 8 updates since launch! We're planning to keep developing the game for as long as there's interest in it.
i can tell you really like this game because you talk less when your really concentrating lol
Maybe a stupid question but, is this the same company that created Orna? Those characters look 100% like their characters.
Gives little bit feel of darkest dungeon.
...and Keeper RL
anyone knows what's the asset pack? Multiple games use this one
🖤
This looks like a neat mobile game.
Not PC game though.
I'd get it in a heartbeat if it was!
Maybe soon ;)
Has some of the same sprites as KeeperRL but theyve got different devs.... Surely theyre not stock o_O
Hey, TBD dev here. This is a super common question! Both The Dungeon Beneath and KeeperRL (and a few other games) use open-source sprites from Oryx Design Lab as a base. That said, TDB includes a ton of custom art made in a similar style
Is this the same people who made the mobile game "Orna"?
No. Both games just use the same for-purchase pixel art.
only me know the sprites used in this game from orna rpg?
They used characters sprites from a mobile game called Orna GPS lol
I've never played Orna GPS but from the videos I'd watched, it looks like a similar art style. Not the same character sprites.
@@tristengrant exactly the same

Am I missing something? This looks exactly the same as a video you released a long while back down to getting the same people in your team.
Which game?
@@tristengrant exact same game. I feel like I've seen this exact video before
@@Saturn2888 I noticed a few people saying that. Weird.
I love that this game uses the same assets as another fun mobile game, Orna.
Eh? Its been a year already??
so this is soda dungeon: worst and paid edition

Dammmm you 23 secs ago
WAIT!? is this the same people who made ORNA?
Game is designed very poorly. I just built a strong self healing frontline with 1 archer and steamrolled the game.
why do these sprites look so familiar??? aren't they copied from another game?
They are sprites from Oryx Labs. They sell pixel art for pretty reasonable prices without any extra royalty fees making them a popular choice among indie devs.
so tired of 8 bit pixel looks
Those are all orna the android game sprites
