😁. . ... They didn't know what they didn't know. So on the retro subject, check out some of those systems even in the '70s they were very elaborate, one of the larger ones I did see was Lincoln Mark 4 I think or something and the big two door monster had almost 1/3 of the car it was dedicated to the engine bay, the AC system was elaborate large could cool a small house and there was manifold and capillaries and all kinds of plumbing it was incredible I think 5.8 lb something like this. Their answer to a hot car is bigger AC system. On top of slight solar glass.

@@JSFGuy yes some of those cars even had a added rear air-conditioning that was a large box in the trunk. With fence coming up in the rear decklid behind the passenger seats. And some even had ducting going up in the rear quarter panel pillars into the roof with little vents, coming down from the ceiling area onto the passengers that you can adjust.
When I was young, I did several of those throughout my younger years and I still do some occasionally for collectors

@@coldfinger459sub0 sure thing, I think it was '60s New Yorker, my older brother was a bit more familiar, he said there was frost chunks that blew out of the rear deck air conditioning vents on the systems you're talking about, they were angry cold and very effective. I remember the transmission tunnel on the '60s Mustangs we had add-on AC with the four vents you could actually see the coils right behind the vents and those would throw chunks of frost out onto your legs also and some fog as they transitioned when they were first turned on, one of the few things I would like to bring back from the old days along with gas formula.
