The warranty in India is the other way around. Toyota offers 5 years at no extra cost and that is what is driving the consumers to the Toyota showrooms if at all. Price difference between the baleno - Starlet/Glanza is perhaps 2000-4000 Rand depending on the model. We have more of Suzuki loyalists than of Toyota's. In India, the only successful product in the last 5 years is the Fortuner!
Nice work, I stay in the rough village, can you please show us when it climbs a speed hump, want to see if it won't beat the bumper. Or just point the camera underneath on a distance.
Something I don't like about the car. The spacing between the brake & accelerator is less. People with wide shoes can overlap the accelerator causing accidents.
I should say this is not my type of car. But one of my friends bought one and Suzuki has got lots of things done right in this car. Say it how noise insulated the cabin is, how quiet the engine is, how comfortable the ride is (specially at motorway speeds) and even the sound it makes when you close the doors. I compared the door clicking noise to a Mercedes S400 side by side and preferred the sound this car makes. Interior is very roomy. But interior feels cheap and the overall car might give you a cheap feeling. But everything else is good about it.
Toyota should rather offer an options list for this car. A touch screen infotainment system in a Starlet is only available on Xr which is around R260k...you can get a second hand Corolla Hatch for that price. The Xs trim only offers alloy wheels over the Xi which is pointless. You'd ideally want to get a Xi and add on the infotainment system.
Can't compare, Polo Vivo will be cheaper to own overall with a better buy back value, parts, fuel consumption, luggage space, full size spare wheel and cosmetically more pleasing

Hi how do you open the boot from inside?? Can you take a pic to show me I went to view the car and I saw the dealer opening it from outside, I love this car and think for a first time buyer it worth it
@@zamahgumede7107 you can't open it from the inside like the sedan cars. Only way of opening it is to ensure the car is unlocked and pressing the button at the bootlid.
@@gerhardburger6777 okay thank you so much
Very good review...informative and enjoying!
Definitely getting one soon
What would have been interesting Ciro is whether the Toyota starlet does come with Toyota's WiFi
I never like Toyota motors, but with Stalet, I have changed since I drove it . It's comfortable, and you drive like driving an SUV.
I own an etios and it's amazing.....its nippy for a small car.
I just purchased starlet Xs Auto. Its a great car, the problem which came with the car is the brake shoes noise but Toyota fixed it.
Hi does it struggle on hills
Would be nice go see a starlet gt turbo
Great review Ciro!
Nice work, I stay in the rough village, can you please show us when it climbs a speed hump, want to see if it won't beat the bumper. Or just point the camera underneath on a distance.
This is exactly what I would like to know as well
Same here
Please have more exterior shots of the car driving along or even parked instead of showing us interior shots of a driving presenter.
True
Drone shots are epic
looking for things you don't like about the car 🤣😂🤣
❤❤❤ i love the car am going to buy it for my wife for the kids they wanna take over my car lol 😂😂
This was really helpful, thanks
Something I don't like about the car. The spacing between the brake & accelerator is less. People with wide shoes can overlap the accelerator causing accidents.
We need to buy a runabout for work. Have to chose between this xr version or a new polo. Not the Vivo, the proper polo. Any advice?
I should say this is not my type of car. But one of my friends bought one and Suzuki has got lots of things done right in this car. Say it how noise insulated the cabin is, how quiet the engine is, how comfortable the ride is (specially at motorway speeds) and even the sound it makes when you close the doors. I compared the door clicking noise to a Mercedes S400 side by side and preferred the sound this car makes. Interior is very roomy. But interior feels cheap and the overall car might give you a cheap feeling. But everything else is good about it.
Love your reviews 👌
What is the watt of the radio because i want to put different speakers in mine
Toyota should rather offer an options list for this car. A touch screen infotainment system in a Starlet is only available on Xr which is around R260k...you can get a second hand Corolla Hatch for that price. The Xs trim only offers alloy wheels over the Xi which is pointless. You'd ideally want to get a Xi and add on the infotainment system.
Great review
Hi Sir. Which would you buy for personal use between the Starlet vs Polo Mswenko??? You've reviewed both.
STARLET
I think the Suzuki badge looks a bit better than the Toyota badge on the grill😶
This is a product of Suzuki and Toyota's partnership.
No is a product of Suzuki
How much fuel is in the reserve tank when the light goes on .Automatic
i have Suzuki Baleno...bought two months ago
I would have rather brought back a whole new look conquest, which was a great car.
This is overall far better value for money vs Polo Vivo
Can't compare, Polo Vivo will be cheaper to own overall with a better buy back value, parts, fuel consumption, luggage space, full size spare wheel and cosmetically more pleasing
@@wolfschindler8921 polo vivio has tsi engine?
Polo vivo has no tsi engine
Try the original which is the Suzuki Baleno
All thanks to Indian Engineering:Manufactured in India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Keep it up Ciro!!
What road is he driving on? I am visiting Cape Town soon and would love to drive that road during my trip. Thanks in advance!
Oh lol. My bad and thank you Ciro. He mentions the location at 4:50
signal hill road.. beautiful
Even i hated etios to the core.... agree with you
In India it's called Nexa Baleno & Toyota Glanza
That was an awesome review 👌
They should have named it Tazz, it was gonna sell
That's a good name indeed
It’s still gonna sell
Toyota should also consider the passengers...
passenger's seat should have a horn🎷🎷 so that once we happen to see our friends we greet🖐️them🖐️
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How's the spare? Biscuit or mag?
I'm in between thoughts nice little car but someone lost the real meaning behind the name Starlet the older ones which I own three of were pocket rockets and when you say 14km per litre doesnt look like any company came very far as from 20 years ago my Starlet GT turbo gives me 13km per litre driving in town great review though I would be interested in one
Hi Ciro. Can you do a review on the Toyota yaris 1.5 xs cvt? Would like to hear your opinion....
A car that is successful in india will succeed anywhere!! 🇮🇳
Best reviews ever!
Nice work bro,
Love your work bro
Hi anyone who owns the car how do you open the boot from inside? And how is fuel consumption
Here in India it's known as Glanza and I have one❤
Is this thing better to drive than a polo Tsi?
thank you so much for this.
