    Lyrics:
Didn't we almost have it all
When love was all we had worth giving?
The ride with you was worth the fall my friend
Loving you makes life worth living
Didn't we almost have it all?
The night we hold on 'til the morning
You know you'll never love that way again
Didn't we almost have it all?

it makes me cry sometimes though hearing her sing because this was a god-given gift so obviously and so beautifully.... the COCOON OF GREEDY A## FAMILY+ FRIENDS...,( the "YES!" people tin her life that wanted to use her as a ATM machine... have blood on their hands .. don't let it happen in your family. no matter what, you must be brave and ask for help for yourself or for the one you love. remember that substance use disorder is a family illness as well, and families need to educate themselves about it! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

And that ladies and gentlemen is how it's done. Pay close attention cause you'll probably never see it again. The greatest voice of all time. I love how she's controlling the band at 3:22 she's telling them "bring it up, cause I'm about to go off". And again at 5:19 where she tells them "take it down". I can remember sitting up half the night watching VH1 waiting for this video to come on.

Arguably THE most exceptional live performances ever. The ease with which she effortlessly sings is mind-blowing. Her ability to express emotions and utilize her voice is truly unique, probably never seen before or after on planet earth. What about the way she sings 'Didnt we,' 'Didn't we' 'Didn't we' (5:00)? Is this even real?

I love how in the beginning, it's like she is telling the audience a story, taking them down memory lane etc. However, by the end of it, she was completely immersed in her reminiscing, to the point where you are brought to tears by what she must've been feeling and reliving at the time. It's so rare to see such an honest and vulnerable performance, underpinned by unspeakable talent... Miss you Ms Whitney!!

My Whitney story. I am in my seventies and I was at that concert 3rd row with my friend Gina. This was one of the eight concerts that I saw Whitney in the mid eighties, all in NY state. I met and talked to her on two occasions, once in Lake Placid and also Saratoga. We were obsessed with her and new we were seeing musical history in the making. At Lake Placid, we went to the Holiday Inn where they were staying around noon (the day of her concert) and saw Ricky Miner and some of her band in the lobby. Everyone was nice and told us Whitney would be coming to the restaurant at some point. Gina and I waited in the narrow hallway. About 30 minutes went by and we looked up and there was Whitney, Robyn Crawford and a bodyguard face to face 3 feet away from us. It was probably the most exciting, surreal feeling I have ever had. Having seen all her videos numerous times she was so beautiful like a Barbie doll come to life right before our eyes. It was just the 5 of us. We told her how much we loved her and couldn't wait to see her that night. We talked to her for about 5 minutes and she signed my vinyl album. A little later she came out of the restaurant and signed some autographs. Gina and I talked to Robyn off to the side during that time and she was really cool. We were in the first row that night. We had seats in row 16 already so we gave two girls $100 to change seats with us. Of the 8 times I saw her, 5 of those were 1st or 2nd row from stage. Too see Whitney live was so incredible and there is no doubt in my mind she is the greatest singer of all time (I have seen many of the best during my life). This video at Saratoga Maybe the best of all of her live videos and I feel so blessed to have been there to see it. I remember her telling the audience they were doing the video and everyone was so excited about it. I also met her brother Gary at Saratoga Radisson hotel in the afternoon of her concert and he gave me 2 3rd row seats after I showed him my 300 page album I had made to honor her. She looked thru my album and jokingly asked if I was giving it to her and I said I don't think so, she autographed my album which I still have. I also gave her roses each of the two years she performed at the NY state fair when she did her first song, one being "How will I Know".

I saw her live at the Greek Theater in CA in '86(it was my Freshman year of HS), you're absolutely right...it was life changing as a teenager. This and her singing "One Moment In Time" live at the Grammy's in a white dress are 2 of the best live performances I've ever seen in my life.

In real life concerts/performances definitely not! It's impossible to choose just 1 out of Whitney's great live performances. I can only say this list and many more are all magnificent epic 'out of this world' beautiful performances. Before autotune there's Whitney Elizabeth Houston.

Without a doubt, the best was a privileged voice, but she knew how to release her voice or hold it back as the intensity of the song warranted. She did it skillfully and that is why she transmitted everything she sang. Whitney's great voice is missed.

The beauty woman could sing. I believe she would not sing a song without a message being delivered to your soul. The message in her songs stand out so prevailing. You couldnt side step them they brought tears to your eyes, would break or bend a heart of steel.
