@911Truther69 The medicine is getting better when it comes to treatment-resistant depression. Don't lose hope. Psychedelics are rising, like ketamine, for the treatment of mental disorders.
Her life gave her the ability to put her heart and every emotion into her singing. She's the real deal. She's probably singing songs to Jesus in heaven right now.
So many singers these days just go through the motions. Whitney had passion and soul. When she sings we all listen as its a performance. Arguably the greatest female singer of alltime.
Pray for that beautiful country because if the United States didn't keep chaina out . China, North Korea and Japan would have destroyed such beautiful history
It should be but unfortunately they would get a current artist to do a cover which would sound mediocre at best and everyone will be complaining about that and wish they just left the song alone 😂.
I mean not her entire vocal range Shed go up to sixth octaves But this song is much more difficult than overrated Mariah's emotions This song requires a full voice, dominant chest mix, power, vocal stamina and supported polyphonic belts as shown in MAKE IT SHIIIINE And insane vocal control especially when she belted hell out of FREE NOTE Most could be corrupted and go heady mix🤣😂
That's the best studio vocal ever recorded. Just listen to those last two "frees." They are staggering! That's vocal power that is full, resonant and sustained. Something not lost on me is the fact that the finish she puts on this vocal is the kind of strong finish that every world class athlete trains for. Vocally, Whitney sprints through the tape, with more left, she doesn't fall over the line. In her prime years from 85-94, she was a quadrillion miles ahead of all of the others that you care to name. There have been many great singers in the last half century. None could hold a candle to Whitney Houston.
That is what makes her story so tragic. She was blessed with this voice..... this God given gift. And she repeatedly made the worst choices.....which became addictions...which then became the demons that she succombed to. In her prime she breathtakingly beautiful with an incomparable voice. May she rest in peace.
Every time I hear this song, I can't stop crying. It touches my heart and reveals my emotions. If one day you cry, it means you understood what she meant

I was a small girl when I heard this song for the first time, it was recorded for the Seoul Olympic games in 1988. I’ve never heard anything this beautiful before, it was spell bounding. .
This song/video makes me tear up like a ninny. Whitney really deserved to be called "The Voice", as I can't imagine anyone in popular music coming close to her virtuosity in the near future. Her contemporaries didn't measure up. Even Mariah Carey, who has a lovely voice (when it's working), never matched Whitney's sheer power and passion. At her best, Whitney's performances were operatic-- she delivered a wallop to the senses, physically and emotionally, as the best operas do.

What resonates for me is: “one moment in time, when I’m all that I thought I could be.” ...”And in that one moment of time, I will be, I will be... I will be free!” I’m trying to do something right now.. to achieve a potential that I’ve always felt was in me but that I have lacked the courage to try for. I’m trying. And if God blesses me with that one moment, then, as the song says, I will be free.

At 43 years old, I realize how powerful her songs are. Never listened to her growing up, never wanted to. But now, I can’t get enough. It’s funny how when you get older you actually stop and listen to songs and the words. Elvis, Whitney, Meatloaf, and Bowie are just a few I have discovered in recent years.
I sang this at my 94 class graduation. Every predecessor before me sang other songs. I brought the whole stadium down with this song. I would like to think I made a difference with this song, and the song speaks for itself at that "one moment in time" when we are so much more than we thought we'd be. ❤

Iisten to Johnny Manuel 's rendition of this song channels Whitney's voice (the male version)
*_Hearing this song temporarily pulls me out of my deep depression. Her voice was absolute perfection and the orchestra did an amazing job!! Seeing people work hard to achieve their goals & dreams is so touching & heartwarming!!_* 😁🏆
"You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again. Knowing this, truly believing it will make you less miserable now."

The medicine is getting better when it comes to treatment-resistant depression. Don't lose hope. Psychedelics are rising, like ketamine, for the treatment of mental disorders.
Stay strong - I am fighting the same battle. One day at a time!
Put your faith in God for your healing
Whitney isn't just a musician but a poet, a motivation ,a legend and more
Her life gave her the ability to put her heart and every emotion into her singing. She's the real deal. She's probably singing songs to Jesus in heaven right now.
So many singers these days just go through the motions. Whitney had passion and soul. When she sings we all listen as its a performance. Arguably the greatest female singer of alltime.
Dave Annan , followed by Fantasia!
Greatest female singer on time: Regine Velasquez....can sing better than whitney's version
100# right here

Dave Annan you said it!!
As you see in this Video, One Moment In Time in Seoul Olympic Stadium is the best Whitney's song ever!!
Pray for that beautiful country because if the United States didn't keep chaina out . China, North Korea and Japan would have destroyed such beautiful history

My emotion spills out at any time I listen to this song. Absolutely, Whitney Houston is forever Pop Queen!
😮
I hope in the LA Olympics should be played as a tribute and memory to Whitney Houston. Best of luck team u.S.A
It’s back in my city’s backyard since 1984 - when I was a young teen.
That is a great idea. It should be whitney.
That should be the Olympic song for LA 2028!!!
It should be but unfortunately they would get a current artist to do a cover which would sound mediocre at best and everyone will be complaining about that and wish they just left the song alone 😂.

Whitney has demonstrated her complete vocal range in this song. Very under-rated song.
Extremely hard song to sing and her voice was perfect.
I mean not her entire vocal range
Shed go up to sixth octaves
But this song is much more difficult than overrated Mariah's emotions
This song requires a full voice, dominant chest mix, power, vocal stamina and supported polyphonic belts as shown in MAKE IT SHIIIINE
And insane vocal control especially when she belted hell out of FREE NOTE
Most could be corrupted and go heady mix🤣😂

dnaspower Can you like please learn before you send a reply to someone
Pure, pure idolatry

Mrs. Whitney you are truly missed. This is an amazing song that will definitely go down in history.
I was a small girl when I heard this song for the first time, it was recorded for the Seoul Olympic games in 1988.
I’ve never heard anything this beautiful before, it was spell bounding. .
Best Olympic song ever!
After reading Greg Louganis’ book …@4:19 always makes me tear up. That moment must’ve meant a lot to him
This song/video makes me tear up like a ninny.
So true. Felt the same when I heard their duet ‘when you believe’. I prefer Whitney, richer & fuller singing tone.

Who’s here after closing ceremony remembering better times and more energy that was organic, and less manufacturing of the splendor of human achievement?
The message in this song...it's what we all seek...a moment that is transcendent. A moment that will be remembered forever. It will make you free.
What resonates for me is: “one moment in time, when I’m all that I thought I could be.” ...”And in that one moment of time, I will be, I will be... I will be free!”
I’m trying to do something right now.. to achieve a potential that I’ve always felt was in me but that I have lacked the courage to try for. I’m trying. And if God blesses me with that one moment, then, as the song says, I will be free.
When listening to this song, I always think to myself: "You can't cry, you're a grown man!"
And then the first tones sound, and tears well up in my eyes.
But I'm not ashamed of it.
R.I.P., Whitney, I send my regards to heaven, where you delight the angels with your beautiful song
