When you said "I'm proud of you." I broke down in tears and ugly cried. I feel dumb saying this because you don't even know who I am not do you care, but I have NEVER genuinely heard someone just tell me they are *proud* of ME. Not just my grades, not my efforts, me. It hurts I never had a good, stable father figure to tell me this, or a mother who wasn't too exhausted working 11+ hour jobs to support me and my older sisters to talk to me more. To tell me I've made her proud. I feel selfish for wanting their approval so badly but it's just the way I feel. Thanks for this man. Gonna keep replaying it lol.
Bro I completely feel you. My mom works a lot too and all I’ve ever wanted to hear from her is “I’m proud of you”. But no matter how much ive tried, ive never been able to get to hear that from anyone. Someone recently rebroke my heart, to the point where I was feeling immensely uncomfortable physical, not mental, heart pain. It’s been a really hard couple weeks… today, I forced myself to go skiing, and had one of the best days of the season. Limiting factors are releasing from my brain over the heartache and the amount of progress I’ve made today far supersedes anything I would have been able to do if my heart didn’t hurt. I kicked ass today. And I hope you do to.

Luckily I avoided jail time and went through a pretrial. But that arrest humiliated and broke my spirit and I was depressed for a good half year. I was an inch to shooting myself. AN INCH. But then I found Team Fearless a month later and rebuilt myself back up. 2 years after my fuck up, I graduated with my degree, got commissioned as a USMC Officer, and swam at the Rio Olympic Trials. While I didn’t make the team, I showed pride and redemption in myself and I’m happy with my life now. Big thanks to Team Fearless. You’ve made a difference with your speeches. EVERY time life knocked me down, I clawed my way forward. Even when my progress was an inch at a time! When anxiety, and depression threatened to control every second of my life, I kept going. I refused to let myself down. I took back my power. Even when no one believes in me or my ability to reach my goals, I keep going. I've been in the darkest hell. I lived in hell and darkness for so long, it started to feel comfortable. It became the only companion I knew would never leave me.
And through all my pain, I got stronger. Looking back now, I know my pain was my greatest teacher. It tested me and gifted me with the knowledge of my strength. Now, I'm unbreakable! Untouchable! I'm an unstoppable force! And I only got here, because of the darkness that tried to kill me. I wouldn't change anything I've gone through.
Listening to these videos, continue to add to my inner strength. They remind me of just how far I've come, and help me to remain focused, motivated, and disciplined. I know what I want, and I know just as sure as the sun rises and sets, I WILL REACH EVERY GOAL, EVERY DREAM!

Thank you for almost 2 years of inspiration and strength to keep fighting to be who I am meant to be.
This came in my recommendation, I’m so happy, I try so hard at school, I try my best to cope with my anxiety and anger issues but I have no one that notices how much I truly try, i have tried my whole life to make my mom proud but she doesn’t seam to understand, the one thing I want to hear is “I am proud of you” even if it doesn’t mean anything.
