  • hey wolf pack! sorry this vid is late.
    It was such a great feeling getting back out there and wetting a line! I had a great time really feeling the summer fishing .. mountains, views, sunsets, plenty of wildlife, and easy catching! Thankful to God for this beautiful setting and harvest from the pond. What a delicious meal it was!
    i do not own any of this music.

    I would recommend a tool to put your fish to sleep, I think in the uk we call it a judge, not sure, but a few taps on the top of the fishes head puts it to sleep, more humane than suffocation in my opinion, but each to their own, really enjoyed the video, great to see people really appreciate the world we are blessed to live in, can’t wait for more.

      Even just a simple knife to the head or a quick dink with a rock is more humane than letting the poor sod just slowly die

    Great to see you back and smiling. As an aquatic plant manager (yes its a career) in Florida (very controversial at the moment) I can sum up that you have a issue of duckweed and watermeal. Both are quite common. My suggestion would be to introduce triploid (3 sets of chromosomes...sterile) grass carp to the pond. You probably will only need 4 or 6. Depending on predators. They will gobble it up like candy. Beware you might have to get a permit from your state fisheries agency but usually that's very simple and get the fish from an approved hatchery. Not expensive and they do the work for you. Just speaking from 25 years experience

    Heidi, the place where you released the groundhog looks to have a lot of paw-paw saplings which means the larger trees are there also. They've already dropped their fruit here in Upstate SC but should be just starting where you are. Go to that area and penetrate a little deeper into the woods and you may get a tasty surprise. The fruit is hard to see on the tree because they are the same color (green) as the leaves, but those on the tree aren't ripe yet. The ones that are ripe will be on the ground under the trees. You have to get them quick because everything in the woods loves paw-paws. Good luck and keep up the great work.

      @@joeenglish69 Just a bit of info. From LSU.EDU Ag Center "Sack of Milk is the English interpretation of “sac-a-lait”, the Cajun French name for crappie. The fish are called “white perch” in north Louisiana, but in both places they are so esteemed for their mild, sweet flesh that the Louisiana legislature has declared them the official state freshwater fish.
      Actually, two species of crappie exist in Louisiana, the white crappie and the black crappie. Both are often found and caught together in the same waters, although each has specific preferences.

      It is in fact Duck Weed. The thing you might not be aware of is Duck Weed is a horrible pest. It actually deprives the water of sunlight and oxygen. Get rid of it!

    • @n0n570p
      @n0n570p 3 роки тому +2

      @@reggiebraud5483 fun fact, it's not necessarily a terrible pest since it makes good fish food, very nutritious, you just need fish that eats them and you make a great small ecosystem. Also they are amazingly hard to get rid of, most of the time it's not worth the trouble, the best you can do is periodically lower the amount of it.

      A basket keeps fish alive and fresh for hours. If you're set on killing fish before getting them home you might/will run the risk of it going bad before you can get it cleaned and in then fridge or frying pan. Fish can go bad in 10-15 minutes on a hot day so killing them immediately on a fishing outing that lasts hours is asking for a smelly mess. Get a basket or at least a stringer.

    Glad to see you back girl, lookin good as always! You should be killing and bleeding the fish right away. One, it puts the fish out of it's misery with a quick death. Two, the meat of the fish will taste much better if it's bled properly right away. Just a helpful hint 😉

      Yeah brain spike instant... Fish are actually lucky in some ways. They are designed by nature to feel very little pain because they basically release endorphins, and self medicate to relieve pain. Wish I could do that, minus the brain spike hahaha.
