This was such a nice chat. It felt like we all sat down somewhere cozy to nerd out about a show we just watched. Would love if it became a regular thing!
Easter Egg: Hopefully everyone knows that the Children of the Forest carved faces in the Weirwood trees ages ago. The Weirwood at Harrenhal has a special face, that of the creator, George R.R. Martin... all hail!✌️
The showrunners explicitly said that Daemon's vision does not confirm who is or isn't the prince that was promised because that's for GRRM to write in his books.
i don't think the "Season 1 ended preparing for war, and Season 2 did the same thing" argument makes sense. Season 1 served to show us what caused the upcoming war. In Episodes 9 and 10, both sides discuss their alliances and consider who they can have on their side during the war. Season 2 ends with a montage finally showing which houses support each team. The whole season focused on the Blacks and the Greens trying to gather as much support as possible. So, yes, both seasons serve as preparation for the war, but they each deal with different aspects of it.
Dropping from 10 episodes to 8 was 100% a David Zaslav move to cut costs after Discovery’s massive debt accrual after acquiring WB + the toll that the strikes took on them. I am praying that they aren’t long for this world when it comes to owning WB.
I am not sure if you will see this but I had your same thoughts about the food routes. I think it comes down more to there being some consistency issues with the shows but at the end of the day I realized Kings Landing is home to millions of people, or so they say. It's conceivably much larger then any other city on Westeros, and to feed it's populace probably requires consistent food shipments and a steady pace. Which is why they're starving, the land routes exist but not only are they much, much slower, they also move much less food at a single time.
Rhaenyra advocated for taking the home towns of her enemies, understanding that it would be a moral blow to them, but not understanding that; 1 - the common folk and people that have nothing to do with the war will be the ones to get hurt. And when that was pointed out, she reasoned on the spot that it is still a good strategy as a means to preventing a broader war. 2 - she has no way to predict their response to such a take over. 3 - that while all of her dragons are away taking the hometowns of her enemy, that she would leave Dragonstone defenseless, with her dragons hundreds of miles away in enemy territory and no home to come back to if Aemon or Daeron or even Cole decides to take it.
Fun vod to watch, reminds me of the full book recap with book club. I would like to see a Fire and Blood baby book club, I don't think you could read up to points all the time because the timeline is (from what I remember) not keeping to the book 100% so even doing that you have a good chance of being spoiled.
Yall should read fire and blood, up to to the dragonseeds claiming the dragons. I think the reaction to what has been changed from book to show would be interesting.
Between the first convo of Alicent and Rhaenyra and their second convo, Rhaenyra had started acting like a cult leader who convinced herself and others that what she is doing is divinely ordained and fated to happen by the power of prophecy. People with that mindset will be happy to justify any atrocity for the "greater good". Let's not forget that the question isn't Team Green or Team Black. The decline of the entire Targaryen dynasty is the only future in sight for any of these characters. Also, most of them are not good people and the show is starting to present that more directly, includig with Rhaenyra.
So...a question Where is corlys's army? They are gonna fight the essos pirates with just one ship? And why there is no dragon with them? Shouldn't Rhaenyra sent one with them? I had so many questions that left unanswered Like where is criston Cole will going or Jason lannister destination which left unanswered
Corlys' army is currently holding the blockade. Corlys is not a dragonrider. His son had a dragon but Seasmoke was until recently riderless. Rhaenyra could have sent Baela but Baela can't be a lookout everywhere at the same time either. You do what you can with the means at your disposal.
Hey guys, luv the channel..i know many are upset by HOD finale, i thought it was great, i have loved this whole season, only negatives was wasting Daemon this Season and Alicante has been getting on my nerves, she really lives in her own fantasy and never takes the blame for the chaos she created following the death of the King and her ending Peace in the land. I kind of want someone to off her in Season 3 even those her and Rhaenera actor are amazing to watch together, such great chemistry otherwise this show was perfect for me... They didnt need the Vision of Game Of Thrones but it didnt bother me...The cast, the production, the drama, the dragons..this shows has been phenomenal and i know people are upset that they have been teasing a big battle all Season but the show is a Drama and not an action show so im not surprised it ended how it did. I have read the creators did this as they didnt think the could make this War look worthwhile on their budget and are hoping for a larger one next Season to do it justice..Although the ratings are much better this Season, the tease for action that has not happened has made a lot of people upset and it might now backfire on the creators...
Heleaena never said she wants nothing to do with her dragon (I also don't think she almost died claiming Dreamfyre but whatever). She said she would not burn people. Big difference but maybe that kind of nuance flows over your head, huh?
These 2 are so full of themselves that they can’t watch a show properly Every single character is gonna dir in these 2 years everyone knows that but when in these 2 years is not known Alys rivers said daemon is gonna die in harrenhall did she say when ? NO Halenna said aemond dies did she say when ? NO I hate it when reactors turn into predictors well guess what 100 % of this guys prediction during the season were wrong so don’t try it its not your job One more thing the show runners wrote and shot 10 episodes but then WB decided to run 8 episodes in season 2 what can the show runners do about that ? You want more dragons in less time with more story and epicness go tell WB what you want from the show and see what get in return
An adult fucking another adult isn't as weird as an adult fucking a child. Hope that helps. Also I think the real problem is the "uncle" part personally.
If u want the story of house of the dragon, it’s fire and blood. There are two kinds one illustrated and then the regular one. Illustrated version has a lot of details missing. So if I was u I would get the regular one. And if u are interested in the illustrated version just look up the paintings online. If I had to guess that book was made because they had nothing to publish cause Martin takes forever to finish his books. For GOT series … first book is game of thrones then clash of kings, a storms of swords, feast for crows and a dance of dragons. Later in 2025 we should get winds of winter. Well at least that’s the latest news, but I can change Martin is special. U are welcome ❤
House of the Dragon is covered by a couple of chapters in 'Fire and Blood'. Chronologically, then the events of the book 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' takes place and after that ASOIAF (covered by currently 5 books) happens.
Daemon was a huge character in season 1 with many different storylines/relationship dramas and the entire of season 2 he's tripping balls in Harrenhal being given spoilers on how the show goes... Him and Viscerys were the anchors for season 1 & season 2 they tried to simply transfer it to Alicent & Rhaenyra and it just didn't work imo
Aehm, Rhaneyra and Alicent were ALWAYS the main characters of this show. Everyone else is a supporting player, even Daemon. Plus, he's been way more interesting as a character at Harrenhal where he had to confront his flaws and swallow his pride and had to empathise with his brother's/Rhaenyra's position.
This is apparently alluded to in the books, as R is aware that her hubby is sleeping with M and is totally chill with it. So it's not a huge leap to think she might be jumping in bed with them.
In this part of the book you get the Battle of Rook's Rest (season 2 epsiode 4) and the next big battle is one the showrunners had to push to season 3 for budget reasons and because rushing it would not have done it justice. It's a naval battle that also involves dragons. All these characters have to actually PLAN their tactical moves and Rhaenyra knew that without additional dragonriders they would be screwed so they tried to find dragonriders. It's not just her sitting around doing nothing so I have no idea where that idea came from. Is it because people haven't gotten their daily dose of mindless action spectacle?
@@PatheticApathetic Stop lying. They democratised the dragons, something that hadn't happened EVER. You just don't appreciate the great moments because you want a stupid action setpiece.
I’m so disappointed with this season. I am even soured on the Hedge Knight now - which I’ve read and was really excited about. The lines in so many scenes came out of nowhere or felt like fan service
@@Sourpatchkatie11 LOL luckily no spin-off show will ever distance itself from the excellent GOT series. Cry harder. Some people actually liked the ending of that show.
"That was it?" seems to be the general consensus on this so-called finale
The finale that never was
The general consensus are sheep
@@goleafsgo9999 What does that make you?
@@goleafsgo9999 the sheep are correct in this case.
It's only the consensus of rather shallow people I have found tbh. GOT had breather episodes as finales and it wasn't a big deal.

The dragonseed stuff IS the plot of the second half of season 2, genius.
Book Cole is 15 years older than Rhaenyra. Though it’s poss that they changed their ages for the show.

FUN FACT: House Baratheon founder was from Old Valyrian and was the (Possible) Bastard Brother to Aegon I Targaryen (The Conqueror)
