Tractor supply Co would probably make an interesting video. I got a Kershaw Chive there I absolutely love, and they sell some lights, key tools, etc. it would be interesting to see what you could come up with.

They did fix the detent on the Sprint series… I sent one back that I bought about a year ago… and immediately sent it back. I tried again and the new one was much better

I have the Gerber utility knife that you bought. I used it for cutting drywall and prying out nails in my basement. Solid knife.
I had it and loved it until it broke. The part that holds the blade is attached to the slider with very minimal metal and snapped
the rest of the video was great, but my favorite part was in the first 3 minutes when you mentioned your watch strap because I've been looking for a good strap for a while

I love my prybid utility. Use it every day. As for writing, I switched to Forever writing pens. They write on anything except glas. It looks like pencil writing though it can't be erased.
Academy can be so hit or miss. The one near me has a slew of Benchmade and ZT’s behind the counter and has Rat I’s and base Terminus XR’s on the knife wall. But most seem to be all cheap Kershaw’s, SOG’s, and Gerbers.
It depends on the stores too; we get select models from each dealer. Also; a lot of the time other stores take them from one another and have them transferred.

I went to Academy Sports in Jacksonville Florida a couple days ago. I did get a Coast rechargeable small 320 lumen flashlight. The knife selection was limited as were the multi tools. I didn’t look for the other items on your list. I’m enjoying the channel and rediscovering EDC.

Maybe when you are done with all the challenges putting together the best of the best. Would be nice to see what you think the best edc you can build from just brick and mortar stores as a whole(not just one store)

My $300 Bestech togatta has a very light detent. Blade shakes out very easily. Wonder if it's just mine or if they all are like that. On the pro side, the closing action is buttery smooth.
The academy near me has a case of knives as well with ZT, spyderco, and benchmade knives in it.
Yea I was pretty surprised he didn’t go with a better knife. Every academy I’ve been to has a pretty nice selection of those three brands as well as some higher end sogs
The Academy stores in my area don’t have knives in the back. They used to but phased them out.

Hey can you guys do a new york legal, cheap edc knife reccomendation? Basically, under 4 inch blade, and CANNOT flip open in any way, blade must be pushed out manually. No automatic or spring assisted, and no loose opening knives that you can flip open, new laws consider them switchblades

I use the"Strobe", it's saved my life on at least one occasion and if you haven't got it that one time you need it then you are going to be in deep s#it.

I just bought a Gerber prybrid utility knife. I was wondering if I take out the razor blade and discard of it, will I be able to get pass TSA at the airport???
What utility knife do you suggest for travel? Also I need it delivered in less than a week lol I was going to get an Exceed Designs flipper but delivery takes way too long. A lot of stuff on Amazon looks like 💩

Definitely Cabelas, also the dollar store or a thrift store (not joking) to make more a creative budget EDC. Not expecting anything for a long duration carry, but if you're traveling or just getting started and have a tight budget.

I have that same flashlight. I've had it for about 7months and let me tell you I love it. I use it for work and for working on my truck ,cause of the magnetic tail cap. I've dropped it,gets oil on it from work,and it can a lot of heat since I work in a forging shop. Recommend 👌

Yeah I really liked the overall design of my sprint select. But after cutting 3 fingers on it because it opened in my pocket, decided it was not the knife for me.
It's a real shame , it's a nice knife if buck would redesign it into a safer knife it would be a good knife.

That Buck knife is dangerous. that knife could open in your pocket. that being said, I'm more worried about a cheap knife closing while I'm using it. that buck would go deep into one of my emerg. kits as a back up knife.

Personally, I'm much more worried about a folder failing and closing on my fingers than opening accidentally.
I am too after having a Civivi Appalachian Drifter collapse on to my hand when I was being stupid and having to go to the ER to get 5 stitches

I didn't know that Academy had Right in the rain products. There is one over the other side of town. I am going to have to go over there and check it out .I have been ordering from Rite in the rain website and paying the shipping charges. The taxes might be cheaper then the shipping charge

They carry more expensive knives at there gun counter. They carry Benchmade, CRKT, ZT and some others.
Not every location does. This store used to have some ZT knives but they got phased out.
