Hi my wonderful Marshies 🌸⭐ I've noticed alot of comments regarding using AI as a artist, and I think it's really good we are opening a healthy discussion about this! It's such new technology that is advancing so so quickly! But I think it's here to stay and I think if we use it ethically and responsibly we really can expand our art and creativity! One of the main issues around AI I have as a artist is the plagiarism involved, for example having my art on a database for people to use without my permission, I think there should be some laws put in place to stop this, and I think because it's so new this is something we have to advocate together! Adobe is actually leading the industry with this step at the moment, and has set up their AI platforms to give reassurance to artist Adobe Ai tools only use Adobe generated stock, openly licensed content and public domain content where licenses have expired I've left a link here if anyone would like to explore the blog they posted: blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2023/03/21/responsible-innovation-age-of-generative-ai I hope this helps a little bit! 🌸 I do think it's exciting but also nerve wracking at the same time, I personally really love the use of it for Concept art, and storyboarding as i've mentioned before (I mentioned too it would be so sick in a game of DND lol for those who play it for fun) 🌸 See you soon! xxxxx
One important thing to note though is that while they did use Adobe Stock, they didn’t ask for permission nor gave the creators a chance to opt out before using their stock to train the AI. Like, it was within the reach of their ToS but still not ethically minded at all. Also, based on their ToS as of today, the second you use Firefly any output you get is used to train it further (meaning if you only added an AI element to your image or decide to recolor your artwork, that ‘new’ image is no longer *only* yours) Nevermind the fact that they’re increasing their prices this year thanks to the “new amazing AI tools” (which come integrated to the software whether you like it or not), because of course they are.
Couple of pointers here - 1. Adobe says it is doing this ethically but when asked proof of this, they have denied showing their datasets. So it is only empty words. Also people who were selling at stock weren't asked approval. They found out after that their work had been used for the AI. And if those werent enough, adobe allows people to use artist names as prompts / as selling titles whitout their concent. People are making the work in other AI sites, selling it at Adobe stock, using other artists names to promote it. And adobe allows it. I have nothing against technology to move forward, but when the artist arent compensated and it definitely is not ethical, I cannot understand why you would use and worse, promote this. Not until these issues are fixed. I love your content, and understand if you don't know everything regarding the subject, but you should research more before jumping into these sponsorships. You are an artist.
Not a fan of AI only because they’ve been caught stealing from artists consistently and that stops the need for business from those artists’. But I also don’t like adobe for their business practices so my opinion is already biased.
:') oh dammit, thank you so much for sharing this, AI certainly is in a weird space at the moment, I feel like we need some real legal grounds in place, I hope we get there and I hope all AI tools are used without plagiarising any work and only pull from the public domain ⭐️ I totally agree with this!

@@KatnippStudiosas of now there’s no way to control this but there will always be people who abuse this AI system to plagiarize and steal hard working artists work. It’s already happening everywhere. Some people are already claiming their title to be “AI artist”. Like what does that even mean lol.
Yeah Adobe has been working with the same companies that’s been stealing artists work and they been working with them for the last four years and recently they put in their terms of contract if you innocently accept the terms of service, they can actually take pieces of your work and use it in there AI system

Christmas is around the corner and I’m sure you’ll have more designs in stock for then and I can pester friends and family to buy me some 😅 Also, for everyone commenting on Adobe, I get it, they’ve been evil to me for their subscription bs… but the software they offer is incredible and I do use it for my full time job. Really too what large business is ethical? I am not defending them, but we all contribute and support these businesses practices in one way or another and at the end of the day they at least give people like Katherine a nice paycheck. You don’t have to support or use their products, but realize unfortunately without companies like Adobe paying creators, many streamers and UA-camrs wouldn’t be able to do this full time.

Adobe express is free?! Amazing! It looks like a great tool, definitely going to try it. Honestly AI is here whether we like it or not, so why not use it to our advantage and in a way that doesn’t harm others? I don’t see how this is different than going to google images to find references and inspiration 🤷♀️ Also completely in love with this launch!!! Need to pick some items up asap 😍
In regards to the other comments, AI has been used in numerous industries for years i.e. science and medicine, and has led to massive advancements in those areas. Whilst there are specific issues pertaining to its use within the creative industry and regulation is definitely needed, it seems there’s a lot of fear mongering around it atm. It’s been a great tool in many other areas and I don’t see how art and design would be any different! ❤
I agree with this! ⭐ I think it can be a tool to enhance our current skills, the only issue is that I have is the plagarism aspect, which they need to work on in the art community, but I am excited to see how we can use these tools to help our creative businesses! thank you for sharing your thoughts on this too! 🌸
Agreed with the second comment. It’s not fear mongering when it’s being used to make garbage that’s now flooded Etsy and has won art contests… even worse it’s being used to make CP and extremely realistic deep fakes. This will continue until regulations are put in place. Yea AI has been around for a while, but these content generators are new and being abused and for bad things. Sure it’s a tool for some, but for most it’s a way to scam people and create explicit and abusive content.
Do some skinny white 20oz tumblers with your designs they will pop so nice on the white. I also wait for mine to cool down before removing the paper to prevent bleed or smears. Love all the new things!
Cute 🥰 u could do a katnipp logo of the company n make a cute display with tumblers how do u know you’ve turn them around properly? I love your creations so much
So of course i had to comment again bc OMG i love your teal top...Im obsessed with the color lol hence my biz name lol. How do you figure out the size you need for the tumblers?
yay I love that these come on mondays they make my week! I have a question about your website if you can answer... I love you how categorized by character on your site... do you mind sharing how you did that or what theme you used to do that? I would love to categorize my shop by character or theme!
I actually think Mike set it up for me 😂😅 I need to add more characters too it! ❤ but you can add images with links! Then use tags to go with that character ❤ so for example, I have a image on gingie and he will go to a collection page with all the gingie tags! This is through shopify ❤❤❤❤

So sad when an artist promote/condemn the use of AI for whatever... Hearing and reading what AI does to artists just to see another using it. Dissapointed.
oh no Im so so sorry your dissapointed, I really feel they need to work on ONLY pulling from public domain, Its such a new technology thats both scary and exciting, Im interested to see where it will take us all as artists, I feel like it could help us either: expand our creativity, or hinder it. Either way, I feel like we need some good laws into place to prevent plagiarism!
i agree sublimation testing is annoying. I use laser toner sublimation so i don't have to deal with clogs since i don't use the printer that much and there isn't really any tutorials on it. i've tried all the inkjet settings but they don't seem to work. So its an ongoing issue for me :(
I use the Canon Color Image CLASS LBP622Cdw. Its amazing printer and cool that i can switch from using it to sublimate and doing non sublimation since i can switch the toner whenever i want. just when i do the pressing settings its not working. the paper sticks or only some of it transfers.@@KatnippStudios
Ugh, I watch every single one of your videos, but seeing that Adobe / AI prompting promotion made me click off this one. It's really disappointing and frankly ironic to get behind and promote something like that as a small business owner when the tool was literally designed to steal from artists and take jobs away from them... :\
ahhh Im so so sorry! I appreciate your thoughts on this! I actually think personally its a tool to help business owners and artists, I have been finding it so helpful and fun for concept art only, this is my honest experience as a artist and business owner 😢 also I thought the text feature was pretty cool I do think all ai platforms should be ONLY from the public domain imagery though and should not infringe on other artists (especially when you get people creating ai art to sell directly, which imo is a little more of a grey murkey territory for me and something I'm not on board with) but for simple concept art, or for inspiration or attempting to visualise something for a story and a scene I think it can help bring your creative vision to life! @@KatnippStudios Oh no. I seen that on your stories over on Instagram this morning.
Good luck but I am sure you will do it as you are amazing and you’ve got this! 💕
Product photography is something I struggle with I think mainly as my studio is north facing and I live in Scotland 🙈
Celebratory hoover
Seeing all the work and trouble I am going to cherish my bumblebutt tumbler even more. 🐝
Id love the full design on a mug i think then it would be move visable ❤ but ur doing great x
i did really enjoy the full illustration. if the future you develop it to have maybe less detail, but it looked really nice.
Exciting, those tumblers are beautiful 🤩
I'm very pleased Adobe are working to ensure their data is obtained ethically, unlike other AI's using stolen artwork to generate images. We really need to oppose and push to stop companies creating horribly unethical datasets. Also my fingers are literally twitching waiting for release so I can get my autumnal mousepad!!
I 100% Agree! 🌸 im hoping they will lead by example and make all the other companys follow suit! heheh 🍂 Yayyy! Im happy you like the autumnal mousemats hehe
ive seen a few artists on twitter call adobe out bc their art is there without their permission :/
Adobe has been asked to show their datasets to prove their work is ethical - they have denied. So it is only empty words.
the tumblers are staying too long in the press
we have found how to do it! And this has been the right time, although it does seem very very long 🥲
“But I time warped” 😂 story of my life 9:11
Tumblers turned out fab! 😊
Thank you so so much! 🌸 YOU DA BEST ✨
You can remove the ink from the blurred tumblers and resublimate them.
I wish I could insert that one SpongeBob movie I’m ready I’m ready I’m ready clip here.
I’m so excited! Hope I can grab a cute tumbler (or 2) 😅
eheheh 🤣 im so happy we managed to finally do it!
In my case, I would like to put an LED light inside that cute glass tumblers and display it on my desk.🐝🥃💡
5:23 ✨🥢Even from my Japanese point of view, the way you hold your chopsticks is correct and beautiful, so I'm very happy to see it! 🫰✨I imagine that he must have practiced patiently.😊🫶 (The correct way to hold and hold chopsticks is an important etiquette that Japanese people patiently learn from their mothers when they are young.👩👧👦There is a culture. The reason why mothers work so hard to teach their children the correct way to hold chopsticks is because by learning how to hold chopsticks correctly, they will be able to do a lot of delicate tasks, which will be convenient…💝
Oh my goodness heheh 🥹⭐️🌸 LEDs inside would be adorable! Also that’s so cool know know I hold them properly 🥲🥲🌸✨ this makes me happy 🥹🌸 I actually have started eating with chopsticks most of the time now 😆 because it helps slow my eating
I love that you shared this cultural story too! Thank you so so so much! Hehehe this has made my day 🥹🌷⭐️✨ xxxx
Adobe express is free?! Amazing! It looks like a great tool, definitely going to try it. Honestly AI is here whether we like it or not, so why not use it to our advantage and in a way that doesn’t harm others? I don’t see how this is different than going to google images to find references and inspiration 🤷♀️
Also completely in love with this launch!!!
not so much fearmongering as artists calling out the malpractice of ai. and that aside from the unconcious bias it has which is a BIG problem.
Your craft literally makes me so happy inside dunno what do without you 🥰😘💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
oh my goodness, thank you so so much 🌸 what a kind kind thing to say hehe
Do some skinny white 20oz tumblers with your designs they will pop so nice on the white. I also wait for mine to cool down before removing the paper to prevent bleed or smears. Love all the new things!
ooooOOOooo yes this is such a good idea! ⭐️ heheh thank you so so much!
I love watching your vids while I do nails, came just in time !
Hehehe ❤❤ aww tysm!
Cute 🥰 u could do a katnipp logo of the company n make a cute display with tumblers how do u know you’ve turn them around properly? I love your creations so much
heheh oh my gosh that would be cute hehe like a little shop display!
Cant wait for tomorrow!!!!! This little witch tumblr is mine I tell you>
Heheheh ❤ thank you so so much! 🥹⭐️⭐️⭐️
That's what I cook for myself too I also make big salads and throw in some noodles. I love the new tumbler so pretty.😊😊😊
heheh ooooo that sounds delicious hehe
So of course i had to comment again bc OMG i love your teal top...Im obsessed with the color lol hence my biz name lol. How do you figure out the size you need for the tumblers?
I measured them (using a paper wrap and cutting to size and experimented hehe 😂❤❤ with some mistakes along the way
@@KatnippStudios legit what I was about to do lol 😆
I sublimate mugs at home, and it is tough to get it right a lot. I feel your pain. Your designs are amazing. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
:') it's such a pain sometimes amirite!
yay I love that these come on mondays they make my week!
@KatnippStudios I'm so tech stupid lol 😆 sometimes I wonder how I'm running a business lol 😆 but I just loved the circled images all in a row. I do have shopify so I'll give it a go see if I can get something to work!! Thanks love you da best!
@@KatnippStudios I get what you're saying but until theres no regulation or laws against plagiarism people as artist shouldnt use it.
I Def think I have a to do list obsession lol 😆 but I feel like I never cross them all off lol 😆
me too me too 🌸 ⭐️
Lovely work but I feel you need to add your logo to the tumblers xx
I think you might be right! We have bulk made aload ,abut I should of put the logo on the back! Ill do this in the next batch hehe xxxxx
just a suggestion, what about UV transfers on your tumblers
ooOOoooo I haven't looked into this! But that would look SO GOOD omg 🌸 Do you have any reccomendations?
ngl seeing you promote ai art has lost a lot of the respect i had for you...
Ahhh I’m sorry! That’s fair enough ❤ everyone has their opinions on it! It’s a very new tool!
i agree sublimation testing is annoying. I use laser toner sublimation so i don't have to deal with clogs since i don't use the printer that much and there isn't really any tutorials on it. i've tried all the inkjet settings but they don't seem to work. So its an ongoing issue for me :(
oh man that seems to suckkkkk 😅 I hope you manage to get it sorted! What printer are you working with? 🌸⭐️
Is the iPad mini confortable to draw with? 😅
I think so! ❤ I use it more than my big one now 😂 but I draw naturally really small 😅 hehehe so that might be why!
Ahhh i need one of those autumnal tumblerss😍😍🍁🍂
hehehe im happy you like them ✨⭐️
That beeping sounds is toooo loud 🙉
i know right my ears hurt :') lol 🤣 it's so obnoxious i swear why can't it be a pretty sound lol 🤣
I actually think personally its a tool to help business owners and artists, I have been finding it so helpful and fun for concept art only, this is my honest experience as a artist and business owner 😢 also I thought the text feature was pretty cool
I do think all ai platforms should be ONLY from the public domain imagery though and should not infringe on other artists (especially when you get people creating ai art to sell directly, which imo is a little more of a grey murkey territory for me and something I'm not on board with) but for simple concept art, or for inspiration or attempting to visualise something for a story and a scene I think it can help bring your creative vision to life! Adobe is actually leading the industry with this step at the moment, and has set up their AI platforms to give reassurance to artist Adobe Ai tools only use Adobe generated stock, openly licensed content and public domain content where licenses have expired I've left a link here if anyone would like to explore the blog they posted: blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2023/03/21/responsible-innovation-age-of-generative-ai xxxx
